I have been searching for a great bakery, and finally I think I have found one. Foundry is the BEST! Their bakery products are outstanding with great taste and high quality. The tea is so fresh and the boba is perfect!

The owners are very nice, kind, and friendly.

Highly recommend this place if you love high quality and delicious bread and tea!

Really love the bakery. Egg tart is so good. Milk tea is great with 75% sugar. Owners are welcoming and friendly. Really want to try every single one but some bakery are out . I don’t know why I’ve been living in St. Louis for 3 years but never been here before. Will definitely come more often.

Amazing breads and pastries. I had never tried Taiwanese pastries before so my partner and I got 4-5 to sample along with a walnut bread. Loved all of them, but the crispy orange roll was my favorite. We also ordered a matcha tea and coffee. Was glad that they had an assortment of non-dairy milks, and that you can adjust your sweetness level. Everyone that worked there was very helpful and nice. We’ve gone back a few times since and will definitely be back more. So happy this place popped up close to our neighborhood!

***updated review***
Came here yesterday to pick up some drinks and bakery. The store was neat and clean as always. They were quite busy when I walked in but the owner Ray came to the counter to take my order pretty quickly. I used to come here for the Taro Milk, but my current favorite was the Purple Rice Yogurt with Mango drink. It's delicious and tasted similar like Vietnamese dessert - sua chua nep cam, but in a fruity side. I also got the Purple Rice Yogurt with Blueberry and Pasteis De Nata for my girlfriend, and she absolutely loved both items. My partner got his usual Chai Latte with Oatmilk - very aromatic and the sweetness just right. Bakery and drinks here are not overly sweet. We've been happy with our order and service here.

It’s very refreshing to have a bakery like this out here in Missouri. I moved here from California a few years ago and missed establishments like this. The service was professional and courteous and the drinks were tasty and delightful. All the bakery items are flavorful.

The bread is so good we went back twice! I've never had such unique and well executed flavor combinations. You can pick any item at random here and it will be amazing. We tried the black walnut sourdough, chocolate cherry, and umami burst. A must visit for anyone in the St Louis area.

This place is a hidden gem! Today was the 2nd time we’ve been here and it was just as good as the first time. It’s a little bit of a drive for us (St. Charles county), but definitely worth it! However, we didn’t know that they don’t start baking until the open time so plan to show up about 20-30 mins after they open if you want fresh hot breads and pastries. While waiting for the breads, I tried a strawberry fruit milk with honey boba. It was a refreshing smoothie and the boba was a good consistency. When the breads started coming out, it was a little crazy (the owner said they weren’t expecting so many people today). I came back today for the chocolate cherry bread (made French toast with it last time and it was amazing…might try a bread pudding with it this time). Apparently, this is the sought after bread because there were several people hoping to grab some too. We also tried a few new things (crispy orange buns, red bean buns, milk buns, and egg tarts) and were not disappointed! The crispy orange buns are like a croissant and orange sticky bun combined (this was a personal favorite). The red bean and milk buns have more of a subtle sweetness, but both are very delicious and very filling. Finally, the egg tarts are flaky croissant like dough filled with a sweet vanilla warm custard that is very decadent. Overall, very pleased with our choices this time and can’t wait to go back to try other things.

Perfect egg tarts and boba milk tea. We came from Chicago, and the egg tart is much better than any other places that I visited in Chicago! It was extremely soft and fluffy just like a soufflé cake. We will definitely come back later!

Delicious food, good people.

You guys need a bigger sign! It's not obvious that there is a great little bakery-cafe there when driving along Dorsett.

Best Asian bakery in town! Berry bread and orange glazed pastry are a must try - cannot miss out on those! Order a day ahead for berry bread online, they always run out because they sell big batches of those. Berry bread has goji berries, walnuts - a great snack for kids too!

WHAT A GEM! Happened upon this cafe by chance. The coffee is fantastic, and the pastries are amazing. Sadly, my photos do NOT do this place justice. The flakiness of the pastries is unbelievable. And the staff/owner couldn't be kinder - I highly encourage everyone to support this local business. It's a true hidden STL secret.

Sweet little cafe that's easy to get to. If you're coming for the baked goods, they were still in the oven at opening time, so plan accordingly. We noticed the shelves being filled around noon. Everything we did order was delicious! I had the matcha panna cotta topped with red bean paste, and an oolong milk tea at half sweetness—which wasn't that sweet at all; next time I would order regular. The tea was very good, lots of flavor. My friend got a strawberry matcha latte with boba, also quite good. Service was friendly and informative. The line got long fast for the baked goods, so I'm sure they're delicious! Next time I'm in the area I'll definitely stop by for some.

I am updating this rating with a review (FINALLY), because the Foundry Bakery has a special place in my heart, and I finally got to take someone very dear to me there.

For context, I go to the Foundry Bakery probably once every 8-12 months. It is not often, because, well, there are closer bakeries/cafes to me and I am out of town at my university for about 8 months out of the year.

I say that to say that this place would justify the “out-of-the-way” trip. There are few bakeries that I ever visit solely to experience the attentiveness and warmth of the management, but this is one of them. Ray is the most fabulous owner of a cafe that I have met—he is proud of his business, compassionate, patient with customers who are not sure of what they want, and always prepared to share about the beautiful Taiwanese culture. But you need not look further than the delicious baked goods menu to embrace this country’s character ;)

I recently got to take my girlfriend here and show her why the Foundry Bakery is worth the drive for me—Ray came up to our table after we ordered and made sure we enjoyed our drinks before giving us recommendations on where to travel in Taiwan whenever we might go. And of course there are more things I could say about the expansive list of drink options (tea or coffee), the helpful menu that shows the personalization possible through drink add-ons, etc., but I would rather shed more light on this gem of an owner.

In summary, it left an impression on us when Ray told us he has not been able to go back to Taiwan since before the pandemic, so I figured updating my year-old, long-overdue review was one small pebble I could throw in the pond in hopes of getting people to go support this incredible small business. It is my deep desire that if business does well for him (and his awesome wife/co-owner Leah!), this wonderful cafe could take a hiatus for a week or two and give them a much needed return to their sweet country. Perhaps that’s wishful thinking, but either way you will n o t be disappointed. And even if I am wrong about that, I would argue there are few things you can be as confident supporting with your dollars as this bakery.

Thank you Ray and Leah!!! <3

Love coming here
Egg tarts have to be our favorite
But all their breads are sooooo delicious

Though not pictured they have interesting drinks that I highly encourage everyone to try out.
Morning mojito coffee was super tasty

Also their boba game have definitely been improved since my last review!

Have to drive 20-30 minutes to go here but it has been worth the drive every time
