First Baptist Church of Bolivar

Just started visiting this church. It's a little hard to get used to the big church atmosphere, but I think I'm adjusting. I'm also a music student at SBU, so I'm glad we can use our gifts to glorify God in a big way.

Having been a member of different Southern Baptist churches across the country, I have to say that this one is outstanding. The people here are welcoming and genuinely happy to meet you. The discipleship offered through Core Groups and Bible Studies is excellent, and they have a strong missions and evangelism emphasis.
This is a church you will want to invite people to attend, and by people understand that I mean anyone. The nursery and small children's area is well staffed and secure. The children's ministry is also well staffed and conducted with excellence. From Sunday morning core groups to Wednesday night RAs and GAs, children receive fun teaching from capable loving adults who show the love of Christ in all that they do. The Student Ministry (where all 3 of my kids now are) meets on Wednesday nights from 6:00 - 8:00.
Their is also a vibrant music ministry with a more traditional church service (Sunday, 10:50 in the main sanctuary), contemporary services (Sunday, 8:00, 9:15, and 10:50), and evening a country style service (Wednesday evenings). The preaching is excellent! I would happily suggest anyone sit under Pastor Billy's preaching, teaching, and overall leadership. His passion for Christ shines through in his love for God, God's Word, and God's people.

What a blessing FBCBolivar is to this wonderful town! We moved here 6 months ago and were encouraged by many people to attend. We visited once and knew we had found our church home. The leadership is amazing, the children's ministry program is unlike any I have ever seen and the members are welcoming and loving. It is truly our pleasure to be a part of this community of believers.

A Worship Center for Every Age!

The most accepting and love filled church I have ever attended. I haven't been a member long, but I will be until I am unable to.
