Sunset Beach Fishing Pier

Sunset Beach is such a beautiful place to go and just enjoy. Off-season is perfect with no crowds. Whether you go to enjoy sunrise or sunset, it's a special place.

I love fishing here, we caught different varieties of fish, nothing to keep today but the sun, the view and the stress free environment made up for it. In all we ended up catching over forty whiting, a few spots, pompano, drum and a few crab. I did see some very nice black-drum pulled in, along with some huge croakers. Artificial blood worms 🪱 , and shrimp 🦐 were the preferred bait today, had plenty of bites

Amazing...I would definitely free park again 40 yards from the ocean and pay a whooping whole dollar to walk the pier... Boiled peanuts.. Beach toys.. Clothes... Awesome thermos

Great views, fun to walk out over the water and a great place to hit the beach. There are a ton of restaurants around and plenty of places to walk, people watch and shop.

We missed the actual sunset by a couple of minutes. The drive from the main road to the island was several miles at 25mph. The drive was beautiful but slow. Plan to arrive early for better views… Kelley’s Outdoor Adventures The RVdrifters Pro tip…

Free and pay parking available in lots at pier and across street. Parallel parking is available in small quantities. Bathrooms, rinse off showers, and accessible beach ramp are convenient. Level and pretty wide beach, no shells to speak of. Lovely spot for a beach walk or nap.

Such a beautiful, smooth beach. The surrounding area was beautiful as well. We will definitely return.

I loved going here! The people were nice. To go to the beach at sunrise and walk at the water's edge is peaceful and calming. I hope to go back soon!

Wonderful views. One of the prettiest beaches in the region. During the winter months the sun sets over the water. $1:00 admission to walk the pier

All around awesome place! We ate the flounder fish sandwich with the onion rings and fries while there. It was really tasty. We fished for hours! Everyone on the pier was so friendly and helpful. They have everything you need for fishing, no matter your skill level. They have a great selection of snacks, drinks, souvenirs, and even rent rods if you need one. The beer is ice cold too!! 100% recommended, A+ establishment. Thanks for a great day of making memories whilst enjoying the most amazing views!

Beach with a pier. Good access on foot. Not rocky. Love love love.

Love this place! Good accesible for handicapped people, shady places under the pier, restrooms, showers- almost perfect!

Cool October breeze, abundant sunshine and soft sand. A much needed vacation from Colorado. Absolutely fabulous.

We try to go to the beach daily! This beach is awesome! Waves are great for body surfing and you can go out pretty far and still touch. The people in the community are wonderful about keeping it clean!
Please take your trash with you!

This area was not busy at all, being that it is currently February. There are benches to sit and a covered gazebo near the pier. It is obviously a well-maintained area! They even have plastic shopping carts that you can carry to the beach and pick up trash with. I have never been here during the summer but cannot wait to come back and visit when it's warmer!

I love the parking lot, but it's pretty small, you just have to be patient. The boardwalk out to the beach was clean and I liked the mesh sidewalk into the sand to help you walk better. The beach was clean and not overcrowded (granted it was January). I will definitely come back.

The pier itself is nice and at this time costs $1 to walk on. If you also walk on the beach, grab a basket of you're into collecting garage. As that happens to be my favorite beach vacation past time I was happy to grab a basket. Beach garbage collectors beware! There is very little garage. That day I picked up a plastic bottle cap. On other days I carried a smaller pale to pick up what little garbage was available.
