Great little place to eat . The food was good and the restaurant was very nice it was super clean and nice. The people working here are very nice and really try hard to make you feel welcome.if your looking for a good meal then stop by and try it out it's good.

Wonderful place. First I must talk about the people. When you hear the saying "Southern Hospitality" it should come with a picture of these people. The environment is pleasant and comfortable. I'm from SE Texas and I felt like I was surrounded by family. Just Awesome. Now the food. From what I had I can tell you the bayou chowder (seasonal) is delicious. The gator bites and baked potato and sweet potatoe fries are good. The ribeye was delicious. Now they have a pecan pie, cake dessert that is amazing. Hey seriously if you get anywhere near hear around dinner time Thurs - Saturday you have to come try it out. These people are the best. Thank Y'all! Don't EVER change! God Bless

Very good. Found it through a Google search. I had grilled shrimp. My husband had stuffed flounder. We both really enjoyed our meals. There were several other things on the menu that we'd love to try. Great food, large portions, good prices, and excellent customer service. So glad to find this place. Highly recommend

One of the best out to eat experiences my wife and I have ever had, and we eat out a lot!! Our server was a young man currently in high school working and he was above and beyond what I would expect a teenager to be. The manager stopped by and spoke several times. The food was great quality and service was top notched. The price was very reasonable. Looking forward to my next trip.

The service was wonderful, and the food held up within a taste test. I ordered a spicy chicken sandwich “fried”, and it lived up to the name. The manager checked up with us, along with the waiters on refills and such. As such, this store represents what a good eatery should be. I would recommend this service to a friend.

My husband decided to pick this place tonight for a "date" and I am so glad he did! The atmosphere was warm and the staff was very friendly! The food was fantastic! The serving were so big that we have another meal for the both of us! Their food was the best Cajun food since I don’t know when! Truly a diamond in the rough!

We loved our meals there. Zero problems with the service and the food was outstanding . The owner made many trips to our table and surrounding ones checking on every customer. The atmosphere is fanatstic. We were celebrating two birthdays and they got free desserts. Would definitely recommend and will definitely go back . Get the bread pudding ! It is incredible !

We found Backwoods Bayou while searching for gas and food heading north from Louisiana after hurricane IDA. The food was great, best steak I've had in a long time. In this case also the first real meal we'd had in a few days. The staff and even the owner Mr. David stopped by our table to ask us how we were in the most sincere and genuine way, the kindness in the peoplea hearts is amazing. Thank you for being a true blessing in the midst of so much hurt and chaos. You will be seeing us much more in the future.

Loved the atmosphere here. It felt very welcoming and homely as soon as we came through the front door. The food was beyond delicious. I wish I had taken a picture but I forgot all about a review as soon as I laid my eyes on it. On top of that, I ended up having a really interesting conversation with the owner on my way out of the door, leaving me with a sense of comfortability that will surely lead me back through their doors again! Mt friend and I were asked if this was our first visit. We said, "Yes," and were immediately seated and then were greeted by the owner who proceeded to explain the night's specials. My friend ordered the Cowboy Cut and I ordered the bone in Ribeye. The food was superb!

The service was amazing and the ambience was Christian in nature; including the music.

We will most definitely be back and will " sing the praises" of the special place.

Great locally owned restaurant. The owners are very friendly. The boom boom shrimp, chicken sandwich, ribs, and bread pudding are great dishes we usually get from there! Backwoods Bayou is just about an every weekend dine out or call in restaurant for us. Very friendly staff as well!

Great place to eat! Friendly folks and a christian atmosphere. The food is so so good. We have eaten here several times and just love it. The rustic decorations add even more to the atmosphere . Can't say anything negative about this restaurant. If you have to drive a distance to get here, its worth the drive.

The food was so very delicious. The staff goes above and beyond making sure that you are seated promptly, tea refilled and dontdoleave without the bread pudding. Trust me you will want some more Awesome place.

We are local, but somehow have never thought to try this restaurant, before last night, when the very pregnant me was wanting something different.

It's off the beaten path, but worth the drive. The Atmosphere inside is rustic and clean, but homey and welcoming. Our waitress was Mallory, who was excellent and never let our drinks be empty and was very understanding with the challenges that come with two toddlers eating out (my 4 year old wanted to come to the salad bar with me, she wanted a small bowl with some ham in it to share with her sister, who is almost 2. I told Mallory to add the extra salad bar to our check, no problem, and she assured me that it was fine and there was no need, that kids were welcome here!). The owner himself was doing rounds and made it clear that kids were welcome and he had many grandkids so enjoyed seeing them around, which is a welcome and pleasant surprise from other establishments who seem to sigh in exasperation when you bring kids through the doors.

My husband had the 16 oz ribeye, which was huge and well cooked. I had the filet mignon, which was delicious! The salad bar was fresh and crisp, perfect in my book, nothing fancy, but fabulous. We didn't have room for dessert, but there was a large selection available.

My kids shared a chicken tender plate, which was $5 and enough to feed them both and take some to go.

All in all we enjoyed our meal, and we will return soon.

Great place and great atmosphere! The food is fantastic and the service is wonderful. Even though they were busy I didn't feel like we waited long for anything.

Backwoods Bayou is a uniquely Southern restaurant styled in a Cajun tradition. A great family experience with tasty appetizers, refreshing sweet tea, and entrees that include seafood, chicken, and steaks. Staff is friendly and patrons include lots of friendly locals that gather to meet. Not disappointed with our choice for dinner tonight.

I had catfish Savannah with the catfish grilled and it was delicious! I recommend to anyone that enjoys cajun cooking to try it out. My gf had a grilled chicken sandwich and she really enjoyed it as well.

Wonderful food and Extremely Wonderful owners and staff!! We are in Mississippi due to evacuation from Hurricane Harvey and the owners insisted on feeding us a huge dinner for free and prayed with our family and for all affected. They are truly caring people!! Do not pass this treasure up!!
