My husband and I rented a cabin for 2 nights here at Legions State Park. We stayed in cabin 5. It was perfect for us. Small, cozy, very rustic with a stone fireplace and a nice porch. This cabin overlooked a beautiful lake. This time of the year the leaves were beautiful fall colors and it was nice and cool. We had a nice fire going both nights. We did bring our on firewood. I suggest a full size memory foam for bed too because the one in cabin isn't real comfortable. The kitchen had electric stove and microwave, some dishes, pots and silverware and a coffee maker. We brought our own bed linens but the bed was made in the cabin. It did have bathroom soaps, wash clothes and towels, but we also brought our own. The park is well kept. The ranger at the front was so nice. We walked to the lodge, it was nice and the bridges at the lake. Took some pretty pictures there. It was the perfect getaway for us to unplug and relax. We enjoyed the cabin, the park, the town of Louisville, and meeting the friendly people Louisville.

I absolutely love this park. There is a gate fee. It's pretty cheap. It helps keep out the vandals and helps maintain the property. It is so peaceful and beautiful. Love to hike the, not very well marked, trail. Bathrooms are not on the property. Wish they had at least one. Bring water if you plan on making a day of it. There is a park that's free for the littles. But again, no bathroom. So be prepared to drive a bit to get to one. Pets are allowed. I seen a guy letting his dog play in the lake. Swimming is not allowed. There are several places to have a picnic. No grills or fire pits. So bring your own.

It's a great park, like other people said there's a little playground out front, and what look like cool camping spots. I prefer day hiking, and while there weren't any well-marked trails that I could find, following the deer trails was pretty awesome. Definitely gonna be going back despite it being a half hour away. Always saw the sign for it on my way up hwy 25 but never had the time until now, but I'm glad I went.

Very enjoyable stay. Primitive cabins in a peaceful, hardwood forest. Great for a weekend getaway to the country. Grocery stores and restaurants are close by, if you dont feel like cooking. Bring your own wood if you want a fire in the fireplace or the outdoor fire pit, they don't have it available at the park office.

Enjoyed our time here. Nice and quiet. Site#11 was a little tight for our 5th wheel.

This is one of my favorite state parks. And this park hasn't been updated since it was built in the 30's; however, there is electricity, heating, and air in the cabins. If you are looking for a quiet rustic camping area this is for you. There's no swimming in the lake. This is a beautiful park in the fall with wonderful hiking and nice helpful rangers.

Lovely woodland park. Very quiet - we were the only campers. Full hook, ups, clean bath house. A beautiful CCC lodge available for events in non-covid times. Sadly, everything shows the lack of state funding

Beautiful park. Campground was clean and ranger friendly. My name was posted on my camp spot so it left no doubt that it was my space. So nice when I first pulled up. Bathhouse was nearby in case you were tired of showering in your camper. I would go again.

It was my first time ever going camping and this park was a great place to be. Awesome trail to walk, nice view, relaxing atmosphere, and just overall amazing time to be had there.

Great little state park. Male bathroom could use improvement. Door should be on toilet not on urinal. But clean, plenty of supplies present. Would use again.

I love the hiking trails, the beautiful woods, the cozy cabins, and the primitive camping, also. They have four options for camping. You can choose Cabin/Cottage, Camper/RV, Tent or a day pass on foot.

Cabins are rustic. Campgrounds are nice & peaceful. You can go walking down to the pond to go fishing. If you stay in #5, you can see pond from a screened in porch.

Last week in September, very quiet now that the younger scout gang is gone. Summer/Fall weather. Park rangers come by three to four times a day. Feels very safe.

Great place to stop for a picnic. Quiet secluded and with great trails that have little labels for some of the plants and trees that are locally cultivated.

Perfect hidden jewel. Peaceful place to camp, bike, fish, and explore...especially with a onewheel! Great hills and off road experiences for onewheelers.
