Herbert McNeal DDS

My most recent visit was on a Friday afternoon around 11am. I’ve been going to Dr. McNeal for the past 6 years. He’s the only dentist I’ve seen since I came to Greensboro to attend UNCG. When I got my braces, I needed a regular dentist. He was recommended and I’ve been coming here since. For insurance purposes, they are in network with Cigna and Delta Dental. They accept other insurance but it would be out of network. They do accept Medicaid but not adult Medicaid.

Cynthia is an AMAZING hygienist. I think I’ve only ever seen 1 other hygienist and that was when I had to reschedule an appointment. She does her job WELL! She takes her time and is thorough! Both she and Dr. McNeal have taken the time to get to know me as an individual. They inquire about life updates and share information as well. Cynthia gladly answers any questions you may have throughout the process, including what certain instruments do and what not, should you have more questions beyond her initial explanation. When Dr. McNeal comes in to do his check, he verbalizes everything he’s checking for and the if there’s concern or not.

I haven’t had a single issue since coming here. Beyond regular cleanings, I’ve had a cavity feeling and a tooth pulled as part of my orthodontic treatment. I’ve recommended them to colleagues who have reported positive experiences! Give them a try !

I am new to Dr. McNeal’s office as of this week. I had my initial new patient appointment and cleaning appointment this week and both were phenomenal! The office is clean, the staff is VERY nice, and Dr. McNeal is awesome. They do an excellent job educating the patient and allowing the patient to be the ultimate decision maker. Great experience!

I have been to this practice for several years now. The staff are friendly and professional. Dr. McNeil is the best dentist I've seen. He loves being a dentist and cares about his clients. I have never felt like I was just another patient.He also explains everything that is being done.I love this practice!

Dr McNeal's staff is always cheerful and helpful. He is wonderfully friendly and always explains carefully and fully the examination process and procedures. In 60+ years I've never had a more sensitive and thoughtful dentist.

My mother had a porcelain dental bridge installed and some time after time, the porcelain tooth broke.
Porcelain is supposed to last the lifetime of the patient it's installed into yet when hers broke, we were told that Doctor McNeal didn't care and that she wouldn't be receiving a replacement.

I been in this dentist. Lately I experienced a pain in my right side on one of my tooth down I went there to explain my pain to get better. the front office lady her name Diaz is manager and she was rude and bad attitude she doesn’t know how to communicate. I don’t think she has manager skills how to deal with clients. Others employees were so nice thanks god I found better Dentist who solve my pain to get much better.

The staff is wonderful the hygienist is the best. Dr. McNeil not so l, I went in for a procedure and noticed that some Utensils that were to be used in my mouth we’re laying out uncovered. I asked for a fresh pack of utensils that have been sterilized and Dr. McNeil got mad. He told me he could not work under these conditions and would not do my procedure that day. I explain to him with us being in a pandemic that sanitation comes first. He continued by saying that I had a bad attitude and that we could just reschedule. I told him I would rather find a dentist who values safety and sanitation. Perhaps he has turned a blind eye to Covid-19. I will never return

The staff service here is very friendly however I had a few cavities filled and went back because I was experiencing sensitivity and pain with my jaw. Dr. McNeal told me I was over reacting and made a slight adjustment to the cavity that was causing pain. It really upset me because he told me that I was over reacting. Dental pain hurts!!! For that reason I will never go back. But ever since I went there I have had issues with that tooth and I will never go back here. This was in 2010, early 2011. If you're looking for a good dentist in the Greensboro area try Dr. Cooper.

The experience is ok at best. When it comes to fillings and procedures in general, they are terrible at it. If you need a filling done, please save your time and money and find another dentist who actually has experience in doing fillings.
