I first started buying pound cake when she was downtown and when she moved I did not know where to find her. Just happened to have lunch with friends across the street from her shop and the waitress told us about the pound cake shop. I was hoping it was her so we went over and there she was with all her wonderful pound cakes. I have moved since but whenever I’m in town that is one of the first places I go. Her pound cake tastes like my Grandmother’s just delicious. For those that say it’s expensive try making a true pound cake and see how expensive it is. They are a pound of nothing but delicious.

These are the Best Desserts in Town!!! I have never had cake so delicious in my life!!! I have tried several of their cakes and pies and each one is a myth watering treat!!! Thanks for catering my holiday desserts and I will be back soon.

I was so glad to see this cake shop on Google maps because it use to be called "the sweet shop" in downtown Greensboro, NC.
Apparently, I wasn't aware of them moving to a new location but I finally found them. I'm glad that they are still open (especially during the pandemic).
Even though the name change, their pound cakes and their dessert still taste the same.
On September 7th, I went there and I bought myself a birthday pound cake. My first time having their birthday cake. As usually, the cake taste wonderful.
The things I like about "pound by legacy" that it's a black owned business. I usually will see the business owner behind the counter. I can't remember her name but I remember how she's kind to me. She probably can't me but I still remember her from her old shop in downtown Greensboro.
I really hope that she can continue her business (successfully) because it is hard for a business owner to operate a small business.
Overall, I had a great experiences. I also need to mention that their shop is still doing covid 19 protocol for your and they safety. It would be a common courtesy to put on a face mask.

Was across the street eating dinner at Fat Dogs when I saw this place. Please, do yourself a favor and visit. It would be easy to drive by this little place if you’re not paying attention, but put it in your GPS and be on the look out!
I swear there are about 20 flavors to choose from, but after speaking with the lady, not all are available every single day. And let’s get real, it’s a bit unreasonable to expect someone to bake that many pound cakes each day, just for them to go to waste. But she keeps the classics on hand. I tried the rum and cheesecake pound cake and yes yes yes! I got my hubs an m&m cookie and nearly ate the whole thing. And these are not average sized cookies, they are well worth every penny! And I saw someone complain about price, baking is a labor of love and it’s worth paying for good food to support a local business. And, it’s not like you’re given a skimpy slice of cake, these slices could easily be eaten on for a couple days, if you have self control 😂

Best pound cakes EVER!! I'm so happy to have found their current location. I'd lost contact for awhile. Large variety to choose from. Very clean & great customer service.

I was behind the owner of legacy cakes at Walmart and she was telling me about her cakes and we stopped in for a slice and to be honest I have ate a lot of cake in my life but have never had a cake so good I will be back many many times in the future

I travel 5 hours to get this cake. It is worth it. No one in Georgia can make this. This banana pudding pound cake is moist and delicious. Every bite is priceless. It's worth the trip and stop.

I have been purchasing pounds cakes from her for a couple of years. This is the BEST CAKE on the market. The Banana Pudding will bring tears to your eyes. I love the buttery smell when you walk into the place. This place will always have my support. I wish I could give her more stars.

On a scale of 1 to 5, this cake is a solid TEN!!! My 92 year old mother has been yearning for pound cake like she remembers from her youth. This definitely made her birthday special. Thank you Miss Margaret Elaine for carrying on the tradition!

I stopped here twice already, once for brownies and strawberry cheesecake and the second time for a lemon pound cake and chocolate butter cake and both times and foods were amazing! Worth the price paid and it came out hot and fresh because I was the first person there when it opened the second time. The first time I went the cakes were all sold out so I just got a brownie but it was still good. I appreciate her love and effort and her helpers love and effort they put into these “love like grandma” cakes. I will be back as long as I live in Greensboro.

Pound cake was so awesome, I also bought two brownies and two cookies. Next time I'm getting a whole cake for myself. No sharing. I'm sitting here picking off of this cookie cause I just ate the pound cake. SMH...I forgot to say that for the quality and quantity the prices are fair for All that I bought I only spent 24.00 two pound cake (nice big cut), two brownies (big brownies), two cookies (big cookies). So 6 items for that price is 👍.

I was shopping 🛍 at the tj max plaza in gso..after lunch with chi fit l wanted something 🧁 sweet ,I Google bakery POUND CAKES popped up.. y'all y'all that was the best move for desert. The service was extremely excellent y'all know I don't meet strangers. Lol l was talking to the owner!! Sister was so passionate about each piece I inquired about and yes it was delicious I don't know what else to say dee-licious... If you on spring garden.drop in sit and enjoy ... This pound cake place is a Hidden Gem! All the cakes look delicious! I'm still stuck on the keylime, butter and strawberry. Check the website for hours and don't go hungry. The slices are a bit pricey but they're definitely good.

I got a slice of vanilla pound cake, a pecan brownie, and a slice of keylime pie and all I have to say is, my taste buds are elated!! The pound cake was light, flavorful, beautifully made and baked! The brownie is so decadent and the right amount of sweet. I already know the key lime pie is gonna be amazing! Support this business because they're doing it right and masterfully!

DELICIOUSNESS!!!! My favorite desert is Banana Pudding. For three weeks my wife attempted to get me a slice of P.B.L.’s Banana Pudding Pound cake and today it DID NOT DISAPPOINT me!!!! It was absolutely amazing. A moist cake pound cake topped with banana pudding crème & vanilla wafers. It was the best tasting Pound Cake I’ve ever had…and I grew up on a small NC country farm in the 1970’s (Mecca of homemade pound cakes). I can’t wait to go back next Sunday for my next slice😋😋😋!!! Best pound cakes ever. Nothing commercialized about these cakes. Fresh, homemade, sweet but not overly sweet and so rich and decadent. Cheesecake pound is my fave. Sometimes you may have to wait very briefly if she has whatever flavor you want, baking because she ran out. Just remember that this is a one woman shop so be patient. Worth the wait.
