After Hours Veterinary Emergency Clinic, PA

My Beagle unexpectedly gobbled up a stocking footie. I knew I had a small window of time to get it out before reaching the intestines. Arrived at AHV with a few others there waiting. After 30 minutes, I was getting nervous. Fortunately, Stella was called back ahead of the 2 others that were there before us. I was told patients are based on priority of emergency. I was grateful the vet was able to get the stocking out in time. One of the people waiting was very understanding and said their issue wasn't as pressing. The other seemed upset. His dog issue was not eating and he left him there to be evaluated over night. So please be aware how the system functions. Wait times can exceed an hour or more. Be patient and let them do their mission which is saving as many animals as they can.

They were so great from the first minute I called! I was in and out with meds in about 2 hours (unheard of). I’ve been using another after hours vet for years, but I’ll be staying at After Hours Emergency Clinic. 💜 The price was also responsible for an emergency vet.

We took our pup here after he had been mauled by a big dog. It was an early Saturday morning emergency visit. They took him in and treated him with care and kindness. Fixed him up and took excellent care of him. It was far less expensive than I expected. I can give a 100 percent satisfaction rating for all they did. I would go back in a second and feel comfortable recommending After Hours clinic to anyone needing a competent veterinarian. And they are VERY reasonable, too. Thank You 😊

On January 16, 2023, our 14 year old baby, Ellie Mae, was having rapid breathing. It was around 9:00 pm. She had a stage 4 heart murmur and had been on heart meds for three years. She was our little miniature dachshund princess. We brought her to the After Hours Emergency Clinic. We realized before we brought her there that this could probably be the end. When we arrived we were greeted with a very compassionate staff. It didn’t take long for them to take her back. They came out and reported that they had her under the oxygen tent and that she was fairly comfortable. The tech told us that they could either leave her under the tent for the night or make the decision to let her go. We asked her if Ellie was going to get better and if she was in discomfort. She was in discomfort. We were told two years ago by her regular vet to take Ellie home and make her comfortable and enjoy her. She has been a happy, loving, healthy dog every since, running and traveling and loving on people, but we knew this day was coming.
We made the heartbreaking decision to have her put down. They gently brought her into an exam room wrapped in a baby blanket and let us spend as much time with her as we wanted to. They already had the IV in her little leg with no meds going through. Ellie Mae was just as calm as she could be which was an affirmation that she was letting us know it was time to let her go. We stayed with her as the vet (an African American woman-we didn’t get her name) allowed us to stay for a long time. We talked to her and sang to her. We called the vet back in after some time and we stayed with Ellie Mae as they administered the relaxing meds and then as they administered the pink liquid which put her down. She passed peacefully. The vet left the room and allowed us to grieve with our little furbaby for as long as we needed. We wept loudly and no one ever told us to settle down or asked us to leave.
The whole experience was heartbreaking but we could have never had more caring front desk personnel, vet techs and vet. They made a difficult decision much easier. Their compassion was amazing. I am so glad we were there as we said our last goodbye to our baby.
We had Ellie Mae cremated. We received a card from the staff and they had made paw prints and nose prints for us. I will cherish these always and have them with her remains.
We could have never picked a better place to take our furbaby.

My finance and I had to take our dog in last night for an emergency visit due to blood in his stool. We’d like to recognize Jonah for the amazing customer service and caring attitude to get us in and have our dog seen as soon as possible. Jonah was super informative and assuring during the whole visit while my fiancé and I were clearly upset about our poor dog. The vet working overnight saw us and was very helpful and friendly giving us a care plan and explaining the breakdown of how much our visit would cost. Overall we’re very satisfied with the cost for our dogs stay and work being done and I’d definitely recommend anybody coming to this location during a medical emergency with your pet. Thanks again overnight staff working 1/22/24! You all are an awesome team!!

I’llm so grateful for After Hours. I was able to get my baby examined, tested and treated quickly. No long wait just while doing labs but that’s normal. It was late and wasn’t crowded. They treated us with care from the receptionist to checkout. Thank You!

Very clean and comfortable place. Not sure if the other reviews were at a different vet :/ the staff were very sweet and helpful with my puppy, startup shots, and tests. My pup does not mind being here at all, and the techs are always willing to help sort out financials.

We have visited this emergency clinic twice in the past year. The veterinarians were professional and efficient and had a good bedside manner for both our dogs and us. We definitely recommend them based on those visits.

This past weekend, my daughter had to make the very difficult decision to put her beloved Furby to sleep after discovering at a Veteranian facility in Charlotte that he was rapidly declining in health. We contacted the After Hours Emergency Vet clinic in the early morning hours and a staffer informed us that we could come right away. Upon arrival the intake was brief and we went into a room right away. They explained the process and allowed us to spend as much time as we needed with Furby before the final procedure. After Furby passed away, we were allowed time in the room with him to say goodbye, that was a difficult moment. We appreciate this staff for their professionalism and sensitivity to our delicate situation. Our condolences go out to others who may be experiencing the loss of beloved pet as well. They took really good care of my German Shepherd when she hurt herself digging up glass. The wait was long and it was very expensive but my dog's foot is doing well and she didn't loose a toe.

My dog has issues with pancreatitis and have to use this clinic at. Times. They are so thorough and always provide the best treatment. They are caring and compassionate. I would definitely always use this clinic for any emergency I have.

I had to take my 6ish week old kitten here last night and had to make the heart wrenching decision to put her down. The staff was very kind, the Dr., whose name I didnt catch, explained very clearly and compassionately what was going on, what my options were. The nurses were equally considerate when they helped me say goodbye to my little girl, and I truly appreciate what these folks do.
Emergency care is not cheap, but if you want a quality service then it will cost you, though I think its value is well worth it.
I hope everyone who helped me through last night sees how much I appreciate how I was treated.

The entire experience was above expectations. The staff were friendly and caring. They made a traumatic incident bearable. We are so glad we chose them to treat our pet.

my pup sage had a knot on her head , i decided to get it checked out at this place. the staff here is awesome , the lady at the front desk was super sweet & welcoming .. they kept me updated on everything that was going on with sage and even answered my questions when i called to get additional updates . we did stay here for quite awhile from about 11am - 9pm BUT i did not mind at all as i watched sick and helpless animals pour in .. this will forever be the place i go if my sage girl is needing any type of after hour care :)

My newly adopted rescue wasn't doing well. My regular vet was booked, so had to take him in to the emergency vet. They did a great job!! By the time we left my poor guy was on the mend with a wagging tail. He's back to playing with his new brother.

They got me in really fast, took good care of my Yogi. Fair price, great staff and I loved the vet. Sometimes vet clinics are wary of larger breed dogs but they handled my Saint Bernard beautifully. 10/10 would recommend

I would highly recommend this place to anyone who needed an emergency vet! The receptionists were very friendly and worked quickly to get the information they needed for us to be seen and made sure the office was kept clean for when new pets arrived. The techs and the vets made the appt smooth from start to finish keeping me calm, checking in to let us know what they were doing at that time, answering any questions, and being transparent with pricing from start to finish. My cat is not a fan of the vet and they did such a good job making sure that she felt safe! My cat is doing great and if anyone needs an emergency vet…this is the place!

Thank you for taking exceptional care of my very special needs dog last night. It’s always stressful to take her to a new practice, because she has a lot of quirks, both medical and behavioral. Every single member of your staff, from the receptionist to the veterinarian, went out of their way to make Dottie feel comfortable and accommodate her needs, which made it a much less stressful visit for both of us. The cost and wait time were extremely reasonable for an emergency visit, and I’m very grateful that you guys were there!

I would like the thank Dr. Byungure and the entire staff. Although our beloved pet did not make it, your compassion and professionalism was amazing. I'll aways miss my Boo but thank you for sending him off in style

The staff here are kind, helpful and informative. They listened to every word we said. They kindly checked on our pup each time we asked for an update. We were extremely impressed with the time Dr. Byungura spent with us and the attention to detail. This staff juggled several more urgent situations while we waited. They were clear on the estimated time. We had an emergency, needed them and appreciate all they did for us and our senior pet. Emergency vets are not there to be fast or inexpensive. We’ve seen quite a few over the years and this team was top notch. Thank you!!!
