The General Wine and Brew

The General wine and Brew is an excellent way to wind down after visiting pottery shops in the "Pottery Capital" -Seagrove
It's got a great wine and craft beer selection. The owners Dave and Alexa take great care in selecting the best to serve to their customers. They usually will have some small snacks. And often on weekends there's a food truck!
Last night we attended their "music in the grove" event. It was a terrific time with several bands playing, and several food trucks.

Went with our friends who live in the area, they love this place and we see why! It was a friendly place with cool atmosphere. Wine selections were great as well as beer & ciders. I fully enjoyed our time spent with friends there & the food we ate from the food truck they had. We’ll be back when we’re in town again!

This is such an awesome local spot and the owners, David and Alexa are the nicest people you could meet! I love that they have hummus and other snacks available for purchase. The drink prices are great and such a welcoming environment. A must stop for anyone traveling through Seagrove. Cheers!

What an awesome place to stop and relax or recharge. I've been driving past it for 2 years and finally stopped. The wine selection was fantastic. The host was very knowledgeable. Some complimentary nuts and pretzels were the perfect touch while catching a couple rounds of golf on the TV. Friendly crowd gathered, both local and tourists. We'll stop again

Music in the Grove is a great outdoor music event. This is my first visit to The General, but it won't be my last.

STOP HERE! This place is amazing. The atmosphere is enchanting, the staff are so knowledgeable and friendly and the wine is extensive. Clean and charming. The cheese plates are very generous and really great. You’ll be missing out if you pass up general wine and brew!

Camaraderie Central! Great place to gather with friends and enjoy a brew or glass of wine inside or on the deck. David and Alexa curate some great wine selections and invite the best food trucks to visit and cook for the locals and visitors to the Seagrove area. Very glad they set this up!

Great bar with friendly people. This is a wonderful addition to Seagrove, NC. There are so many great wines and beer to choose from. The staff is knowledgeable and can recommend a delicious selection for any type of wine or beer you're looking for. The atmosphere is classy without being pretentious. Family and dog friendly.

We loved this place. The owners are so kind and they’re local potters, too. They picked out a great wine for us (priced well) and showed us some great spots for pottery. Literally the perfect place for drinks off the pottery highway.

The General is the perfect addition to our small town. The owners are so welcoming and knowledgeable about their products. Seagrove is fortunate to have a place for the community to come together and share and cold beer or a nice glass of wine.

Lovely little bar in the heart of the pottery capital of the US. Great beer and wine choices, and if you’re lucky you might get served by Seagrove’s mayor himself. Nice outdoor deck and mask wearing is taken seriously for those concerned about COVID.

Great service for party of two. Limited selection of beer on tap but have a cooler full of different types. Have a great selection of wines as well. Overall nice chill atmosphere. Will be making return vitits.

100 year old general store turned pub. Great atmosphere and local flavor. Food trucks at times. Dog friendly.

Such a great place! Excellent service, variety of options, and very generously portioned delicious snacks. I will most definitely be back.

They also take COVID-19 seriously by following all protocols to keep our community safe!

One of my new fav places, I have bars closer to me but I still make the drive to go here instead. The owners are so nice and I love the wine I have had.
