Pappy John's Original Barbecue

I love going there, the staff is very inviting and friendly and the owner is wonderful. My favorite is the loaded nachos w/everything. Mouth watering before u take a bite. Smells amazing and presentation is beautiful. If u like fried okra u gotta try that too. Never soggy, the perfect crunch in every bite. I love this place.

Absolutely amazing barbecue and sides. My go food place when driving from Alabama to Missouri. Delicious, from scratch cooking. My mouth is watering thinking about their food. Exceptional food.

Stopped here on the way to Kentucky. The pork sandwich was topped with slaw and it was delicious. Dessert, Fried Oreos!!! Worth a stop!!! By the way, don't order the brisket lol!

This place is phenomenal 😍 I honestly can't say that enough. We got a mix of everything, chicken, pulled pork sandwiches, loaded fries, ribs etc etc (large family and we REALLY like to eat). It was amazing. The decor was SOOOO cute, the service was great. You can't miss out on this place!

Ive tried most everything on menu. The bbq was fantastic! Will be back when traveling that area.Great Service, Atmosphere.

Passing through the area for the first time & we were lucky enough to come across this gem of a place! The food was just as excellent as the service! I really liked the down home country atmosphere. Will definitely have to come back one of these days! ALSO the sweet tea was the absolute best!

Well worth the 7 hr drive from Virginia !! My opinion is simple - don't pass on this if you're traveling in / around Smyrna TN.

The food was beyond fantastic. We've eaten from California all the way to Florida, up the east coast and into Tennessee now and this is definitely one of the best places.

They've been an area staple for 51 years for a reason! Tender pulled pork and flavorful pork ribs and smoked chicken. Nice people serving great BBQ in a really cute, piggy filled spot. And, unlike a lot of BBQ places, they keep it nice and cool in the summer.

Their bar b q has a wonderful flavor, and you never get big tough chunks from the ends where it was cooked longer. Their regular sandwich with slaw will fill you up, too. I have to order the jumbo at most places, but not here. Their fries are great also. You will not be disappointed.

This was the best Barbque I have had in a long time. I had the pulled pork sandwich. I could have made 3 sandwiches from all the meat that was on the sandwich. It could have had a little more coleslaw on it though. The service was quick. It is a very small place but it is very clean regardless of the dated look from the outside. It was diffently a gem to find!!!!

Stopped for the ribs.. You can't beat the prices. Food was good. plate full of ribs and double baked beans. Nice seasoning and it was lightly brushed with sauce...

Good Bar-B-Que, the pulled pork was really good the only problem we had was they don't serve brisket. It's hard for me to go to a Bar-B-Que restaurant and not have brisket. The staff was very nice and polite. Our order was served in a timely manner.

Love this place! My arthritis is bad and they cut my ribs for me. Love the potato salad!
