Fredericksburg Brewing Company

We saw this place during our walk in downtown Fredericksburg and made a point to stop in the next day for lunch. Their home brews were superb and the butter-brushed pretzel appetizer was light, warm, and delicious. The club and reuben sandwiches were excellent, but the Caesar salad had a bit too much dressing. Overall, an excellent experience that we'd happily do again.

Not sure what to expect for German food as I’ve never been. However, this food was great for my taste! We shared the flight of beer, loaded fries, and for my first time tried the Scotch egg. Delicious!

Decent beer selection, looks like a great venue to be during a party. We just had beers at bar. They do have some wine selections if beer isn’t your thing, which is nice.

Some of the best German food this side of the Atlantic. You can't go to Fredericksburg and not try stew, pretzels, and beer. Fredericksburg Brewing Company has it all. A must if you're in town. 🥨 🍻

My husband is the big drinker, and he liked their selection. It's was nice and clean. We had the pretzel and peach cobbler when we went and it was good!

We arrived right at 11:00 as they were opening, and we got right in and greeted by our server within two minutes. We got our beers quickly (excellent IPAs), and the food came soon after we ordered. The sausage sampler was delicious, as were the onion rings and German potato salad I ordered as sides. My mates both ordered the sausage sandwich and spicy green beans and loved them. We topped off the meal with warm peach cobbler with ice cream.

I’d read other reviews claiming the service was slow or inefficient, but that was not our experience at all. The atmosphere is lively, both food and beer is good, and the crowd waiting to be seated as we were leaving is a testament to the popularity of this place.

While no one was being seated there yet, the large indoor beer garden looked great! There are also what look from their website lovely individually decorated hotel rooms upstairs.

I’ll definitely be back when I’m in the area.

It was pretty busy when we walked in on a Saturday afternoon, but we just came for the beer. They sort out people accordingly - drinks or meals. I wish I could comment on the food. The place is spacious, leading out into a covered biergarten. The ambience is of a German restaurant with a brewery, nothing fancy but practical. It is always cool to see where your beer is coming from. The tanks are active so you can watch a bucket of water bubbling away during the fermentation process.

I have never had German food so I can’t really say it’s the best German food but it certainly felt like it! Their beer flight was also delicious. Will be stopping by on the way back home.

All the beer is prepared in-house, so try out their beer sampler.
We enjoyed the fried pickles, Oma's wonderful meatloaf, and of course, their excellent homemade chocolate pecan pie.

I visited Fredericksburg because I had time before my flight. We stopped here and I was very glad we did. The food was absolutely delicious. We ordered the Jager Schnitzel, Scotch egg and the German platter with sides. We all shared the food. The portions were big and we all left full. The ambiance was nice and the service was great. I would definitely travel to Fredericksburg just to eat here again.

The food and atmosphere were really good! But the service wasn't the best for us. We watched other people order and receive their food before us.

Our waitress did not check in on us very much at all. It was also my first time trying the Jäger Schnitzel and my husband said there really was not enough sauce for it. Otherwise, all of the food was good and so were a few of the beers that we tried.

Great craft brewery with excellent food variety and wonderful staff. Extremely friendly folks and really good craft beers. Try the Hefeweizen and the Mexican Lager, both outstanding! Highly recommended in Fredericksburg, located in the heart of Texas Hill country.

Nice Brewery on the main drag. The red I had was great. Very nice comfortable feeling decor. Large open room in back for large groups. Enjoyed some beer pretzels that were quite good as well. Nice place to relax after wandering around downtown.

We had the most amazing time at Fredericksburg brewery Company. Adriana was so attentive and what a great attitude and attentiveness to all our needs the peach cobbler was to die for. We loved the selection of beers. Try the soft pretzels with habanero ranch. Will definitely ask for Adriana again.

The staff is courteous and friendly. The service was great in-spite of it being the busy hour. We ordered the chicken club sandwich, sausage platter and the uberbacken schweineschnitzel. Everything that we ordered was delicious! The beers were cold and a respite from the infamous Texan summer. They manage to maintain cleanliness in the interiors. The restrooms were clean as well!

We ate lunch at Fredericksburg Brewing as a break from the wineries. Great place to eat and drink local beer.

My husband had the Scotch Egg and I had the
Portobello Sandwich with beer battered fries. I'm vegan, thus no cheese on the sandwich. But the bread...OMG! Seriously, the bun was so delicious it almost outshined the mushroom, which was great too.

We ordered the flights to have a tasting of as many beers as a lunch belly could handle. Some outstanding beers and a couple of so-so.

They also have a fantastic gift shop next to the restaurant to buy some unique gifts. Thanks for a wonderful meal!!

Great place! Friendly atmosphere. Dark beer is excellent. Service was great for how busy it was. And the Sausage Sampler was top notch!!

Service was great and so was the food. I would also say they have pretty good portion sizes and their prices were not bad for what you got. The beer choices were good and served nice and cold. Would definitely recommend stopping by for food and drinks or even just swinging by for a beer to go.
