Friedhelm's Bavarian Inn Restaurant & Bar

This place is amazing!! Food is real German food the same chef has been there for many years. The portions are huge so make sure you are hungry and save room for dessert. The staff always meets you with a smile and goes beyond to make sure your dining experience is wonderful. I first went here in winter of 1994 I am not local 5 hours away and took a trip this past weekend just to go to Friedhelms.

My experience with this restaurant was very good! The schnitzel and the wursts were very good and flavorful! The creme brulee was the best one I had ever had! The chocolate cake was very rich and the apple strudel reminded me of red licorice. The service was equally as good, we came in twice over two different days and they remembered us! Mint came on the creme brulee and I wanted it to make hot tea at the hotel room, and we asked for more and they gave us an entire stem! Very clean restaurant too. Overall a very good experience that everyone should try if you are in town!

The restaurant offers super tasty German food. The ambiance is nothing fancy, but it is a comfortable country style. Enjoyed my time eating and a couple of shots of tequila. Sorry I did not get photos. I was too hungry, and the food was too good.

Didn't stay at the inn, just ate in the restaurant. Had different sausages, cabbage soup, snitzels, and spaetzle. Everything was very good and the service was great. My only critique would be the spaetzle was a tad buttery, I should've got some mushroom gravy or something for it.

We have been here twice now and my husband brought me back for the soup and spaetzle!! It is delicious!! 😋 Our waitress has been Jade both times and she is awesome!! We looked for her to make sure she was here today!! ❤ great little place to stop in and try!!

I used to come here with my parents when it opened in 1978. Every spring break we would eat here when I was growing up. The service was excellent. Scarlet our waitress was very friendly. The food was delicious!

Restaurant recently opened after several years closure. We tried it tonight and #german food was great! Alexander was our wait person, so friendly and exceptional service. It was a very pleasant surprise, much better than some of the other older tired restaurants in the area. Salad was fresh, cold, and crispy! We will definitely return!

We stopped in for our anniversary dinner with our daughter and we all loved our meals. The food was delicious, the schnitzels were perfect and everything was very authentic. The spatzel was a little softer than I'm used to. The service was excellent, Jason was friendly and the best service we've had in a long time.

The newly remodeled Friedhelm's restaurant was excellent. Our server Jade was the best ever. She gave us such wonderful service and was so entertaining as well.

Great dining experience. The schnitzel here is amazing, and the jagerschnitzel sauce is to die for. Well worth the short drive from main street, there is a great selection of German cuisine and beers, and the staff are extremely friendly and give attentive service.

If you want a treat in a less busy part of Fredericksburg that caters to locals, this is the spot. I had a divine pork chop, the soup is a nust-have, and the service is excellent. Not one of the places all the tourists hit, so eating here won't be a long wait, even on weekends.

1st time customers Round Rock...the food was good the red cabbage better then sourkraut. Jason was Very Friendly & Helpful!! Nice place. We ll be back!

Stopped in for a German Lunch yesterday. We were seated right away at a table near the beautiful bar overlooking a lower dining room with many diners. Our pleasant waitress met all our needs throughout the meal without asking. I ordered the Jaeger Schnitzel, which was prepared perfectly. My son had the Cheese Schnitzel off the menu. Cabbage soup arrived with dark brown fresh sliced loaf bread. The German wine in my glass was very perfect in taste with the soft German music playing in the background. Of course the homemade soup tasted so good. My meal was ordered with tasty Spaetzle to complement my Jaeger Schnitzel.y son ordered their specially made potatoes. The whole lunch was perfect as was our dear waitress. The whole lunch was one of best meals we ever had. The bill was very reasonable for all the food we consumed. Too full, we opted out of dessert we would have liked to try. The servings were very generous. We are so glad we opted to try this recently opened German Restaurant.

Fast and friendly service and very clean. The waitress was very helpful and sweet. The cabbage soup was excellent as was everything we ate.

The best German food in the Fredericksburg area! We were delighted to find it has reopened after a prolonged closing. Knowledgeable and friendly staff, excellent service, wonderful ambience and food. The Jagerschnitzel and red cabbage were excellent!

Jade is as the best server ever ~ she took great care of our table of 5. Food was great!!! We will be back & ask for Jade.

The restaurant had awesome food and a nice environment. We had Jager Schnitzel and Osso Bucco and both were delicious!
