Pine Shadows Elementary School

So glad my kids are at PSE. Generally great staff & faculty. Strong parent involvement, without most of the silly competitiveness of certain schools. No tolerance for bullying. The dual language program, in particular, is a gem for SBISD. Pine Shadows Proud!

I would totaly recamend going to pine shadows elementry. Especially since there are so many fun events that we have. And the staff is really nice and help you if you need it.

I love this place because it is my school and I have so many friends there.

When I had attended Pine Shadows Elementary School, the place was old and run-down, not to mention how most of the hallways and passages were outside and thus susceptible to the hot Houston temperatures. Along with that, there is a strong Latino majority at the school, which made me (who is Caucasian) a minority. Due to that, I was often bullied and ridiculed, so it may be best to send your child to another elementary school if he or she is not Hispanic. Additionally, many of the teachers were adequate (especially Mr. Adolph, who was awesome!), but a number of them—such as Ms. Gabriel—were abusive, hateful, and malevolent to their students. Personally, PSE is subpar in standards and although it's an adequate school for those who have no other choice, it would probably be better to send your child to a different elementary.

Recently, private funds has allowed for the school to be torn down completely and rebuilt, so hopefully it improves. I won't be there to find out, though.
