The Square Cafe? 42 years it was the Nutshell. The new owners changed the name to the Square cafe. Google brought us to the place. We were looking for direction to the nutshell as that is what showed on our exploration on maps. The staff was friendly. The food was home cooking! It was very delicious! The history is so very interesting. Come in sit a while and ask. The pictures tell the story of the food.

My mom and I stopped to eat here before we headed back to Houston. It is such a great little place to grab a bite. The menu is very simple but the sandwiches are big and hearty. They are also extremely nice. We were very happy we found this spot before we left town.

Awesome breakfast for a reasonable price in an old, charm filled building. This place takes the style of an old mom and pop diner and combines it with the old-time charm of downtown Granbury for an excellent experience all around. It's our new go-to for the Square.

What a wonderful, old fashioned cafe. It took me back to when I was a kid and we would frequent a similar eatery. The burgers, fries and chips were great! The pies and pastries looked wonderful but we were too full to partake. Very friendly staff and the atmosphere was warm. Great coffee!

Food has always been great, cooked to order, & very fast. There very nice. I bring my teenage kids here every chance l get .l must sdmit, l go alone more offten than not. And the woman that does EVERYTHING has amazing tattoos. Very classic & well done. Always a pleasure. I'm going this morning!

I love this place! Great downhome cooking, rare prices. 2 people, 2 eggs, 3 lean large pieces of bacon, hash browns and toast with water, $10 and some change. Awesome. Highly recommend!

You have to try the nutshell potatoes! Hands down the best version I've had of a hashbrown casserole. The people were really nice-both the employees & the patrons! They have a breakfast buffet on the weekends....but when I go back I might just load up a whole plate of the potatos!

Unique downtown at the square charm .We went for desserts after eating lunch at Babe's .Has a haunted history,but very great environment anyway ! There was the sweetest lady handing out sample desserts on the sidewalk,specially greeted us again and hugged us when we left .Great place ,great history !

Been coming here for years. Their sandwiches are great, but my favorite thing here is breakfast. Folks are friendly and the atmosphere is neat. Nutshell is a favorite for sure!

Quaint little restaurant very good food didn't take us 30 minutes in and out friendly people great location on the square in Granbury. Best breakfast in Granbury by far.

Love the breakfast, burgers, sandwiches and deserts! Has daily hot lunch specials and a Sunday breakfast buffet. Get your ticket stamped to earn free meal!

Ihave eaten here many many times .The cook makes perfect over easy eggs .The price is right .I also ate a slice of buttermilk pie .Who ever made it did not know how to make it .The pie was terrible but the breakfast was great .For the Square in Granbury it is a great location .I have been going in thier since 1982 .Try to stop thier when you go to Granbury Tx.

Dependable quality breakfast and day old cinnamon rolls are a great deal! Take time to walk around and read the historical articles, including upstairs.

Nutshell was amazing! I ordered the Texas Breakfast sub for biscuits and Gravy and it was a great deal for the price.

This food is outstanding for breakfast and extremely inexpensive. I highly recommend the country breakfast for $4.75.
