I love camping in state and federal parks, and Dewayne Hayes is no exception. A gorgeous natural setting, sites spaced out, lots of shade, Lots to do, here, too. Bring your boat! This campground borders a river!

This is a beautiful park! Sites 1-14 or so have full hookups. And all the sites have electricity and water…I think. This place is amazing! Oh and host was a great guy and very helpful!

Only stayed 2 nights but wish we planned for longer. All th spots are super bug and we'll maintained. Camp hosts are nice and bath houses are well kept. It was fun walking around and meeting everyone. Would have liked walking on the hiking trails but it rained aloy while we were there.

We camp a lot here and it really spoils you to other campgrounds. We haven't found any place as nice, well kept, quiet or friendly. We always end up returning here, and it's like coming home.

We loved this campground. There is a trail in the campground that leads to a cypress slough and it is beautiful. Some campsites are reserveable and some are first come first serve. There is really not a bad campsite in the campground. Some sites are next to the river and are very nice. We got half price with America the Beautiful national park pass. This is a Corp of Engineers park. The campground hosts were all very friendly and helpful. People camping in the park were also friendly. Columbus, MS is just a few miles away and has anything you may need to buy.

I would give it 4.5 stars if possible. Site 66 is a fantastic, pull-thru, site. It is partially shaded, backs to woods, level, and plenty of spacing between other campsites. This is probably our favorite site ever! It has a concrete pad, gravel patio area, and grass & trees. There is no WIFI and limited OTA TV. Our site had full hook-ups, grill, picnic table, and fire pit. Speaking of fire pits, the campground does not sell firewood. However, they directed us to an individual who sells firewood that was 4-5 miles from the campground. There is a boat ramp to a river, trails, and paved roads that are easily navigated. The town of Columbus is a short drive away for groceries, etc. The staff was helpful and the campground was very quiet. Cost was $55 for two nights and 50% off with the America The Beautiful Senior pass.

Very nice campground. We stayed at site 91 on the water and the view was fantastic. The only downside to this site is that it has no shade at all.

Absolutely one of the greatest parks we have camped in in the past fifty years. Camp hosts; Virgil and Randy are amazing. We were late returning one night and we received a phone call to “make sure we were alright”. Randy was getting ready to lock the gate and he didn’t want to lock us out. We have never had this quality of camper card in any other campground in any other state. Corp-of-Engineers Rock.

What a beautiful and quiet place to spend your time away from home. The staff here is great and the price for our camping trip was very inexpensive. The RV spots are almost all shaded with lots of trees and our spot included sewer. We will stay here again without a doubt.

Good place to stay enjoy going out here and nice 2 lane boat ramp. My family has been coming here to camp for around 15 years now and we love it. Great campground very kid friendly. Lots of deer, armadillo, and opossums! Don't leave food out or in the back of your truck they will get in there. Highly recommended checking out this camp ground!

This is a great campground with extra long paved sites plus a parking pad. Right along the river it is well kept and quiet. There are some paved walking paths as well as asphalt roads. Full hook-ups make this an ideal place to relax.

Very nice ACE Campground. Large camp sites, nicely spaced. Paved too! There's a playground, a walking path (signs for another that we did not find). It is not crowded right now but I would imagine that summer's are different.

Corp of Engineers campgrounds. Family members camped and our family enjoyed visiting with them at the campground. Beautiful. Excellent facilities.

Even though the park is showing its age, it is clean, well maintained, and managed. 100 camp sites from full hook to tent sites.

We found this hidden jewel of a Campground to be a favorite. A one road in, one road out that follows the Tennessee / Tombigbee Waterway. Roughly 100 sites with almost half right on the water. Our favorite was site 89, but it doesn't have sewer hook ups (as of June, 2022). As the ranger told us, "all the sites are good ones!".

We really enjoyed our time at this park. The park itself was quiet while we were here. We enjoyed riding our bikes and walking along the trails and exploring the area. Our site was huge and offered lots of room and privacy as it backed up to a trail and was covered with a tree canopy. Full hookups with no issues during our stay. The concrete pad was lng and easy to back into and fit both of our vehicles for this leg of our journey. Unfortunatly we ony got to spend 5 days here but with it being so close to family, we will be spending alot more time enjoying this park and all it has to offer. We camped at DeWayne Hayes in a Fifth Wheel.

We only stayed one night, but had a campsite right on the river. It is a beautiful park. It was pretty rainy while we were here, but it looked like there were walking and biking trails. The staff was friendly and helpful. Restrooms were clean. Overall a great experience.

Although I've never camped here I've been bike riding and the trails are great. It's not as kept up as you would expect but maybe the funding is going to a better program. There's a large area with camper hook ups and this past weekend it was full. The sign said $20.00 a night so if that's true it would be worth a weekend trip.
