I visit her 3 times a week, when water is down I go island hopping, thinking no other hikers experience the places I travel off the beaten path..this is the most serene, pieceful set of woods with a river right beside a trail without much traffic in north Al.i find some amazing driftwood art that is one of a kind....

This is a local secret. Don't stop at the end of the road. Keep on going. The views are amazing, and there's lots of secret little trails to explore. You'll end up in a paradise of fields and rivers that wind together in a beautiful valley.

This place is great! As someone else described it, it's very primitive. No paved walkways. Just dirt/rocks/grass. Lots of wildlife out here. Saw a big heron in the lake, heard a owl hooting in a tree, and saw a muskrat in the lake. Trail is very flat and easy. Just wear good shoes and watch out for ticks.

Pleasant place for a troll along the river through the woods. I prefer the Highway 431 entrance, but it can be hard to spot since there is no sign on the highway. The city has a reclamation project in progress, and is planting trees in some of the agricultural fields.

What is there to say? I was so speechless when encountering this place. It's so beautiful and I wish I've hiked here longer, but it was hot out and getting late. Plus, I took a wrong path where I ran into a creek that prevented me crossing futher. There were many wildlife surrounding and I saw many butterflies and dragonflies. One of the dragonflies flew into my face so that was a bit of a shock. Anywho, I'd come back here one day.

A great place to wander in the City if Huntsville — the swamp is the most interesting part since there aren’t many city-owned swamps to walk/hike. Check it out after a flooding rain event. Minnows are spread out all over the swamp! You might see ducks, geese and other birds migrating in spring/autumn.

I love to come here to relax and observe nature. You will see fish, frogs, butterflies, turtles birds and so much more. Well of course if you look! This is also a good place to walk with a friend. Unfortunately there are no dogs allowed but it's a beautiful place.

Absolutely beautiful. An easy nature walk with my young kids (ages 7 and 3.5).

Decent nature trail. The nature is just ok but they don't have much control over that so I give it 5 stars.

Great place for a casual stroll. Nicely shaded and mostly flat. A good variety of birds too! The only real knock sharing Goldsmith Schiffman is that the trail isn't a loop, so your walk back the same way you walked out.

Lovely spot in Owens Cross Roads across from the elementary school. Not super long or hiking material, but a nice place to have a quiet walk or take the kids.

There's a picnic table, a pond, and lots of different wildlife.

Great way to spend an hour or so walking. There aren't many trails but we did get to see a dozen or so deer in the afternoon.

If you love to get out in nature, here is an easy and open area to enjoy. Lots to see, look for the herd of whitetail. Walk to the Flint River and enjoy a dip.
