I am ashamed that I have never visited this place until now. I have a feeling it’s going in the regular rotation.
They had my wife at the chicken noodle soup. It was basically chicken and noodles, kind of like at Bob Evans, but better. She had tortellini Alfredo, which was good, but a bit salty for her taste.
Three things I usually judge a new (to me) local restaurant are their iced tea, their Philly steak, and their horseshoe. Tonight I had all three. The Philly shoe was phenomenal. The steak reminded me of the ribeye sandwich you get at the football game. And a huge mound of grilled peppers and onions. The white cheese sauce is quite subtle in flavor. I actually think a little A1 sauce would have been a nice touch. I will try that with the leftovers, as I could only finish about half of this.
We definitely want to come back to try the Thursday night fried chicken buffet ($18.99).
I have said a lot about the food, but the service was even better. We were well taken care of.

Portobello mushrooms and jalapeño corn fritters were amazing. They made me some loaded waffle fries the were great!

We discovered this place purely by accident about 3 years ago, which was rather surprising considering we've lived in the area for 20 years! It is a bit off the "beaten path." The food is fantastic. The staff is wonderful. Prices have gone up a bit due to COVID, but that's true everywhere we go. The only downside is that we cannot dine in here because my wife and I have social anxiety and the place is quite small inside. We tried once, but even with only a few tables filled, it was too loud and claustrophobic for us. That, however, will not stop us from ordering takeout of their amazing food!

wide variety on the menu and the waitress was very attentive. prices were fair. large walleye fish Dinner and 2 other sandwiches and 3 drinks 60 including tip.

Fantastic little gem in a small town!
Great food for a great price! Most meals are under $10, I recommend the breaded buffalo chicken sandwich with pepper jack cheese. Can't go wrong with a horse/pony shoe! As many ranch lovers will understand, they have great house ranch dressing that goes well with anything!
Fresh, simple salad bar to pair with any meal.
My favorite part: you can get your favorite bar drinks for cheap from friendly staff! It's been awhile since I could get angry orchard for only $3.50/bottle at a bar.
The staff has always been on point! Even with a younger crowd of wait-staff, they are on top of your drinks, checking in, and busting out orders with a full dining room.
Just moved to the area and this has easily become a local favorite!

The horseshoe with tater tots, breaded buffalo chicken and queso was one of the best meals I have ever had. So simple, but so delicious. Be aware... it's absolutely massive!

Excellent small town American diner that serves a horseshoe. By in far the best horseshoe in Virden. Staff was friendly and in top of getting refills etc. Would recommend as a local food establishment. Only thing to note is as of this posting this establishment does NOT take debit or credit as payment but they do have an ATM.

The food was fabulous. I especially like the fried mushrooms. That alone, is a meal for me. The servers were hoping. I wish I could afford to give them the proper tip that they deserve.

Food was Great. Very clean. Nice salad bar. It's divided from bar. I like it. I will go back. Just found out Jo is a Chic. Good service. Enough left overs for another meal :)

Their food is great! Have a tougher time eating there since I've become a vegan but they do have a small salad bar and the waitstaff is always so friendly & helpful would recommend going there.

I don't know what BBQ sauce they put on the burger, but here's a very positive review.
