Great Lakes Ace

I'm conditioned to go to the big box stores despite living nearby. But as luck would have it I stopped in. I've been in Ace hardwares many many times just not recently and it's been a disservice to myself. The store was very clean and up-to-date. The selection of items exceeded my expectations and before I reached the middle of the store 2 employees had asked if I needed help, I easily found everything I was looking for and unless I was looking for bulk lumber or excessive building materials I doubt I've have any issues.

It is convenient for me to use their xerox machine. Usually not too busy and can get in and out quickly. They have good variety of products. Would like the prices to be more competitive.

Finally a place where I can find all my supplies without taking an hour just to find stuff. The store is the perfect size for getting what you need and getting out. There’s always someone around to help you and the members coupons are so helpful.

As far as medium sized hardware stores go, Ace as a whole brand name is hard to beat. This location specifically is especially nice. Store is kept up ery well, sales associated always seem willing to help, and are also knowledgeable! I point that out because at some of the big box hardware stored (think the color orange , the color blue, the color green), so many times I've either asked for help or seen someone else ask for help only for the teenager working that particular department to flat out say that they have no clue about anything in the department. Also, this isn't a slight against teenagers or people who are still learning a given thing. In fact, I appreciate the honesty. Much rather that than someone feeding you false info for the of not admitting they're clueless. I say it simply to say that having the person you ask for help not only understand you and know what you're talking about, but be able to add their own knowledge to the situation makes a person feel good.
Great store, awesome location, staff that other Ace stores ought to be jealous of.

This is a great place to go shopping for a man that is hard to buy for. I bought 90% of my husband's Christmas gifts from here this year.

Just ran in to get a few gardening tools and fans. Great specials on at the moment.

Solid selection, a few cents more than home depot but when accounting gas it's more than worth it for my father and I as home renovators.

Did not expect to stop here. My car over heated and they were kind enough to allow me to fill up a jug with water to cool the radiator. Helpful and friendly - thank you

I was immediately drawn to all the nice things on display as soon as I entered the store. Lots of Michigan stuff. Kind of pricey for me. I was quickly getting overheated. It was a very hot day, but the store was too warm for me. I finally asked for help and two nice young men directed to the very last aisle of the store. I'm disabled and use a cane so made the walk seem longer. The nice young men helped me pick out some reflective numbers for a mailbox. As I was headed back to the front I was tempted to stop and browse but I needed to get going.
I did notice the brightly colored keys. My son had a key cut for me and chose the bright blue color. I love it. No more fumbling through my keys that all look alike. I will be switching some more keys out for the brightly colored ones.

Bought some Milwaukee drills on sale and one of the two batteries were bad- they swapped them out for me with no problems. The guy in tools was very helpful and knowledgeable.
Good store, though I only buy stuff that's on sale...

The service is wonderful.

Standard Ace experience — helpful staff and an excellent selection of tools, hardware, etc. They also have a large outdoor area that was largely empty besides salt, firewood, and 20lb propane during my midwinter visit, but I expect would be full of plants and gardening supplies in warmer seasons.

Had my special batter, had instant help. Fast and courteous

I had to get keys made. Didn't check them for a week or more. 2 of the 4 would work the knob but not the deadbolt. I returned to the store. Explained the problem. I dont know her name but she reprocessed the keys through the machine AND made me a new one just in case those 2 didn't work. She said they were wonky but should be okay. All 3 work fine!! Thankyou to the young lady and ACE. No charge for the extra key or redo.

Ace is on the rise and for good reason. Their staff is exceptional, their product lines are growing, and their business specialists take care of our inventory needs like experts.

I hope that the employees are being well compensated, because their friendliness and positivity is what sets this place apart, and I would hate for Ace to loose any of it's standing when they are set to make such great strides from 2021 to beyond.

Staff here was very helpful at helping me get the correct part for my new gas roper dryer. Just so you all know the kits will not have the correct fitting. It's not 1/2. The rope is 1/4... $5 part. Foot what i needed and good to go.

Very well stocked store. Big garden center for mulch and potting soil with flatbed carts.

Called the Auburn Hills, MI store looking for a specific item that is becoming difficult to find in store. This store had the item in stock! I asked the VERY helpful lady I spoke to on the phone if she was able to hold the item for me for an hour and when she said she was able to I was so excited! That item is for a Christmas gift & I'm so happy that I found that item & the lady was able to hold it for me for an hour until I could drive there. Super staff. One of the gentlemen helped me get the item into my vehicle as it's a heavier & awkward item to maneuver. GREAT JOB ALL AROUND!

The Ortonville, MI store is the closest to home & our go-to for hardware needs as well as an excellent store with a great & helpful staff.

First time at this ACE. Good experience. Initially called them trying to locate a hard-to-find deck stain. They had a large selection (all the colors), quickly verified stock for me, and then set it aside for me. All while being fast, courteous and helpful.
Store is nicely organized, prices reasonable, and staff very helpful. I will be back
