Exeter Cam's Antiques Reviews

My husband and I have bought many items from this store.
I was so sad to see some of these reviews.
Firstly, the back half of the store is run by Cyndi and a large portion of sales is donated to breast cancer research. Cyndi will dress you head to toe in vintage and classic garb. She's always full of laughs and smiles. She will easily brighten your worst day.
Secondly, Cam, the owner of the antiques and lighting is exceptionally knowledgeable and kind.
I always look forward to sharing a smile and learning something new.
I hope that moving forward people will take the time to get to know Cam before writing a negative review that could impact the success of his store and decrease the breast cancer research donations.
In a time when our society is so focused on acceptance, these reviews were so quick to criticize.

So many amazing choices; our biggest challenge is always narrowing down which of all the great options is ‘the’ one.
Cam is friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable.
We love this place.

This is an absolutely amazing shop! Every time I visit, Cam takes his time to share the history and vintage of the items I'm interested in, and I've always made a purchase. Very easy to talk to, knowledgeable, never a hard sale. I keep going back.

We've shopped at Cam's for years and always enjoy the experience. His wife is amazing and donates so much to breast cancer organizations. Joe (Cam) can describe in detail each of the chandeliers and help you find what will fit in your space, keeping in mind what you like and your price point. (The French chandeliers are mine, btw. Hands off!). In the basement check out the beautiful wood panels he saved from the dump and recreated a space in the basement that reminds me of old fashioned libraries filled with cigar smoking old guys talking either finance or sports. He can be a little short, but take the time to ask questions about what you're looking at and he warms right up. Is there really a need to ding the reputation of a store that as been there for years? Nah, not really. Try being nicer. And no I'm not friends or relatives, I just enjoy the shop.

Unbelievable selection of the finest chandeliers in all of New England. From antiques to vintage clothing and jewelry, to the architectural salvage pieces, it all just blew me away. We will be back to visit Cam's.

Nifty shop hidden in the alley. Lots of antique furniture and lighting, oddities, and knick knacks. Delightfully weird collection. Don't forget to check out the lower level! It's also attached to a consignment shop with vintage clothing and wigs. The owners say they run the shop just for fun and seem very serious about their privacy. Don't call them, just stumble in. You won't be sorry.

Always a great place. I always get great pieces from Cam. He's very knowledgeable and will tell me all about the pieces. All my lighting is from there along with some stained glass windows. Would highly recommend Cam's!!!

Great antique store, with friendly and knowledgeable owner. Incredible selection of vintage chandeliers and other fancy antiques at reasonable prices. Best of all, there's no junk cluttering up the place like at most larger shops. There is also a good architectural salvage warehouse and a vintage women's clothing store in the same building.

This shop has soooo many pretty vintage lights. They are reasonably priced. They also have some architectural salvage. The owner is friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this shop.

Not very friendly. Didn't like that I was just browsing. The nice part of the store with the jewelry was closed but there was no sign, he just came in and shooed me out.

I agree with how rude the owner is. I could have spent a lot of money in this store but he was pushy saying, come on, buy something and then he went to saying we needed to hurry up and leave. Just like the other review said. Was our experience to a tee. Sad because they sell on consignment and their vendors are getting screwed on sales because of this guy🤷🏻‍♀I gave it two tries and that is enough. Many many antique and thrift stores out there. Just search, thrift and ANTIQUE stores and there are more than this place to go to.

Cool store, the owner was unbelievably rude. Asked what brought us in, and if we had a project going on. We answered just to look, but that we would have a home renovation project starting soon. He immediately started talking under his breath trying to get us to leave. Saying things like “ okay, come on time to go” “any day now.” Either he thought we couldn’t hear him, or he wanted us to hear him. Super strange. We’d been in the store for no more then 5 minutes. Unfortunate, because I absolutely would have considered buying multiple items I’d seen when the time came, now I absolutely will not. There are plenty of other local antique shops, where customers are treated with respect. Take your business to one of them, not to this place.

In response to the owners response:

Seriously? Come on man. You very well may have been messing with your CD player or radio but trying to say you were “telling the radio” to hurry up and play music is ridiculous. It was incredibly obvious you wanted us out of your store, both from your body language as well as the words coming out of your mouth. You were following us from a distance and literally looking at me while speaking (to the radio?)

Showed up ready to spend at least $2000. Noticed a masks required sign and politely asked “Excuse me sir, do you have masks?” His response was “Don’t have your own mask, not coming inside” Unbelievably rude and not the first time either. ✌🏾
