OHK Bar & Restaurant

I recently took my wife on a date to OHK Bar and Restaurant, and it was an amazing experience. The atmosphere is simply incredible, with a European ambiance and an American castle feel. We reserved seating online and were given a beautiful table overlooking the garden, which I imagine would be even more stunning in the summer with outdoor seating.

The service was top-notch, and it was such an honor to meet the owner, Mr. Gary Melius, who took the time to introduce himself and chat with us at our table. He is a truly humble person.

Now, let's talk about the food. We started with the charred octopus, which was really good, and the soup of the day, which was the creamiest soup I've ever had. As it was a cold evening, the chef served us a complimentary broth that was perfectly salted and tasted amazing, a sign of good quality in-house broth.

For drinks, we ordered a glass of red and white wine, both of which were amazing. For mains, we had the Short Rib Pappardelle, which was exceptional. The Braised Beef Short Rib paired with the Pappardelle Pasta and Ricotta was a delightful combination.

Overall, it was an amazing experience with good quality food and excellent service. The price was justified for the experience and quality of the food. I highly recommend OHK Bar and Restaurant for a memorable dining experience.

Perfect date night or solo excursion (we saw a few solo diners that seemed to be having a lovely time). This was a lovely experience all around. We booked a tour and added a dinner reservation with the booking right after our tour of the grounds. On the tour we learned that the owner lives in the castle and he happened to be having dinner and introduced himself to us. He was a very warm and kind man.

Not surprisingly, the waiters were kind and welcoming and the food was delicious. We loved the sea bass, crab cake, and filet mignon. The cocktails were awesome (they were strong and appetizing).

The tour was great and the castle has a rich and interesting history! The owner and his team have done a wonderful job of archiving fascinating documents.

Delicious food with amazing view. Food is great, I had Shrimp Scampi, coffee and desert. Pasta was great, good price and nice portion. Coffee was also good. Desert was a little weird, I took “berries and cream” and it’s basically fresh berries inside chocolate bowl with whipped cream on top. I like it, but it’s not for everyone, so be aware. My friend had “apple tart” and it was delicious.
Prices are absolutely fine for NY and especially for such beautiful establishment.
And after your meal you can go outside and enjoy magnificent landscape.

Food is good (not amazing). You're really paying for the experience. I've been there several times and always have a nice dinner. It's perfect for special occasions. I don't recommend wearing stilettos - they get caught in the stones where the valet is.

This is the first time I have been to Oheka Castle. We went for an investor meetup and had a couple of drinks and some food. The menu is interesting and had some nice upscale choices. The service was good, and the grounds and much of the building are very pretty. The outside courtyard atmosphere is very nice. The food was tasty, and the presentation was pretty good 👍 This place is quite expensive though... The Charlie Chaplin room is very cool 😎

It was an unforgettable evening. The service was amazing. Our server, Giselle, was fantastic. The castle owner came to the restaurant to greet the guests which added to the whole experience. Everything we ordered was delicious.

The castle is amazing! Wine list is top and food was very tasty and I was very surprised about the price range. We had a Sparkling Wine by the bottle that we loved (Cremant de Loire), bread with foundue, burrata salad, Lobster Roll and Ravioli. Great experience breathtaking views you feel like you’re somewhere in that Gatsby area lost in time. So elegant and great service do yourself a favor a visit during the weekend

In celebration for my 33rd Birthday, both my wife and I had a romantic lunch here. Both the atmosphere and service were great. From Valet Service to the Food/Wine Service, the members were very attentive and kind. I highly recommend coming here for special occasions.

I just visited Oheka Castle for the first time for a friends' gathering. We enjoyed drinks and food - the food was tasty with good presentation, though generally average. The highlight is definitely the dining experience inside the castle, ideal for special occasions. The menu features interesting upscale choices, and the service was impressive. The castle grounds and building are beautiful, especially the outdoor courtyard. Be aware, it is quite pricey. The bar and Charlie Chaplin room are particularly cool.

Took tour,Maddie was guide,she was very informative. Had lunch,it was excellent, and I would love to meet Gary,who has restored the castle,what a story....

Came here for a romantic sunset dinner. Beautiful restaurant with phenomenal romantic views, ambience , and atmosphere. Highly recommend.
Service was phenomenal & the owner of the restaurant was amazing and introduced himself. Amazing violinist playing beautiful music. Garden is very nice. Food and drinks were delicious. Definitely make your way here.

We came here for brunch on Sunday and I wanted to do the tour as well but unfortunately it was sold out for the weekend. Definitely make a reservation early if you can. The restaurant is located on the second floor of the Oheka Castle and it was the perfect setting for brunch al fresco. We were first seated in the courtyard, but it was too hot under the sun so they allowed us to move to the patio. The service was good and the owner even came to greet us at the table. The crab cake was definitely our favorite dish out of the four we ordered, so highly recommend. The bucatini pasta and egg Benedict was good too. The spinach and arugula salad was a disappointment though. It looked like the size of a side salad and was quite bland. I still give it a five star because of the unique experience of dining in a castle and there are plenty of opportunities to visit the grounds and take pictures.

An enchanting evening at Oheka Castle Restaurant celebrating our 17th anniversary was simply unforgettable! The breathtaking grounds added a wow factor to the occasion, and the food was absolutely delicious—especially the succulent duck. But what truly elevated our experience was our waitress, Giselle. The OHK Bar & Restaurant is an absolutely extraordinary and elegant restaurant that is based at the Oheka Castle, an amazing luxurious hotel located in North Shore Long Island.

During our weekend stay at Oheka Castle in March of 2023, I brought and treated my wife and myself for dinner at the OHK Bar & Restaurant to celebrate our Happy Five Year Anniversary!!!

Both my wife and I were graciously welcomed and warmly treated by restaurant’s staff and our server, Kim did a great job on taking our orders, addressing our inquiries and making sure that our meals were served in a timely fashion.

Both my wife and I found our meals to be superbly seasoned, perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious!!!

In addition to the great meal and service, my wife and I had the great fortune of meeting with Gary Melius, the owner of Oheka Castle.

Mr Melius was kind enough to drop by our table, extend us a warm and thoughtful welcome, verified that our needs were met and wished us a wonderful Happy Anniversary!!!

We ate at the bar and I shared the filet mignon, broccoli, and truffle fries with my husband. The waitress (I believe her name was Amy) made me a warm non-alcoholic drink not on the menu (hot apple cider) and I loved it (currently pregnant so no alcohol for me). It reminded me of wassail. I was afraid we would be too late to get food as it was 20 minutes before the kitchen closed but we received our food in enough time. The owner, Gary, came over and introduced himself as well.

Great food and service, Hotel rooms are each unique of each other. OHK now has music for a elegant outdoor decor. The new summer menu is creative and tasty. I highly recommend that if you want to make a romantic evening have dinner and retreat to a chilled bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. They just changed the menu and it is unbelievable. I highly recommend the veal osso buco or for something lighter the changed the crab cake and it's out of this world

Jahida and Mike and the entire staff were amazing. The place is beautiful and the space was so unique and wonderful for our corporate meeting. Food was delicious and beautifully displayed and the guest rooms were so pretty! Highly recommend!
