Motel 6 Schenectady, NY

My partner and I stayed here for nearly 30 days while waiting for our house purchase to close, and I’ve never met a sweeter family! The owner of the place is kind, the rooms are well kept, and it was the perfect place for us to land while we waited for our title search to come through!

Super pet-friendly. Our room came with a fridge and microwave that made our waiting period so much less stressful! The TVs have a rewind and pause function for low-stress viewing, the beds are comfortable, and the air conditioner works great!

We stayed at a few different Motel 6s in the area, and this is by far the best one! If you have dogs, this is the best possible motel in the area!

(Don’t go to the Motel 6 in Albany, whatever you do. Especially if you have dogs or young children. The owner is rude, the guests are sketchy, and the doors don’t lock.)

This hotel has been a true blessing ! I am a travel nurse on the road and they are so accommodating and friendly. Staff always smiles when they see you. The rooms are fantastically clean and redone ! Highly recommend this hotel for anyone !

Booked this place after my AirBNB canceled on me. Wasn't happy coming here especially given all the negative reviews but I was pleasantly surprised. My room was clean and comfortable. The place was mostly quiet and peaceful. The shower head was over 6 foot high with good water temperature and pressure.

The Cons:
The water had a bad taste, iron like.
My dead bolt lock wouldn't engage.
I think the mattress had a plastic protector but it was comfortable enough.

I had low expectations of this place, seeing some of the rooms and it being a 1 star hotel. This place was great! Bed and pillows were very comfortable, more comfortable than some more expensive hotels. I arrived at 2am and the staff was very friendly and got me checked in quick. My room smelled fresh (which I was worried about since the allow smoking). I got a room facing the highway and it was silent. The AC filter was brand new, the room was very clean. I highly recommend this place!

Oh and the floors are vinyl which I love, since carpet holds way more dirt!

Not sure why this place is only 1 star.? This motel is one of the cleanest and non stinky in rooms I’ve been too. The family that owns the motel is very smart , nice. And good to hold a conversation with, most owners are rude and all about the money and all the while have disgusting rooms. I he motel from what I could see is in process of getting painted and fixing the outer of the motel. For what’s it’s worth I think that motel 6 on curry rd is a nice place to stay and to stay with kids . There isn’t many you can actually have or want to have your children at . You can’t please the unpleaseable though.. great motel great service

Great experience for the fair price you're paying. Pet friendly. Simple room. Big bed. The smells were a bit strong, so keep that in mind if you're sensitive. The shower (hot water) was great!

I had a great week here! It's cheap enough to live if a disabled couple is homeless and it's a freaking god send to not be homeless bc of this specific motel 6! I will absolutely come back regularly.

Under new ownership, I'm very impressed with all the upgrades and new management!! Owner and family staff are so sweet and accommodating. You can see the changes being made everyday. Prices are great and location could not be better!! Right off the highway, right into bed... Now that is service😉 Great for work travel

I am a guest minister at the Christian Assembly of schuler Church. As such I was pleasantly surprised on how nice my stay was at the motel 6 in Schenectady! I plan on staying there regularly as I am invited to go to the Schenectady area!

The room was very clean I really enjoyed my stay and the next time I need time to myself your place will definitely be first on my list!

Wonderful hotel. I saw the tree the man crashed in to after he crashed thru a cinder block wall, after some other guy shot him in his head. And then he died.

Quick service and my dogs where definitely happy to stay with me. Made everything better. Less stress and thank you!
