Mark has been preparing my taxes for over 20 years. He has always kept me on the ball with filing dates, and with corporate taxes this is absolutely crucial. He has also handled my personal tax preparations, and I couldn't be more pleased with the exceptional service Mark consistently provides. I have routinely recommended him to others, especially when I am told of complex tax situations people find themselves in, and I tell them Mark will bring clarity, and take care of it! With Mark's endless list of credentials, and his previous experience as an auditor, I cant image anyone having superior knowledge in how to properly navigate the ever changing tax code, and do so in a way that puts one at ease knowing it was done correctly. If you are looking for an accountant and/or financial planner, do yourself a favor and talk to Mark!

I contacted Mark to provide me an estimated cost to file my 2024 taxes, single filer with no LLC's, dependents, etc. He asked me to send over some documents in advance before he could estimate his fee for the return, including my W2. We then met in person wnd he told me it would be $1,500 for my relatively simple, single return. It is my belief he saw my income and adjusted his fee upwards accordingly. While I am sure he is a great CPA, his fees are either exorbitant or he intentionally adjusts them based on your income. I would avoid if possible.

In February of 2024, I've contacted the CPA's office to request a consultation for an issue with my withholdings from a part time job along with my new york state retirement. The original contact on the phone on our discussion to make an appointment I was advised it should take approximately thirty minutes for this consultation. My appointment lasted almost 1 hour and I was charge $360. The only information I received is during this meeting was to change my status to "married, filing separately". I already had an extra withholding of $50 set on my W4. That information was given me from somebody from H&R Block for a consultation I had with them regarding this same issue which cost me approximately $50 for an hour's time. For an hour-long meeting looking through all my paperwork I supplied and paying $360 you would think I would have had a better answer with what I could do to change and correct my withholding status. Needless to say this change had no increase in my withholdings. I do not recommend this CPA.
