A few years ago I purchased our first SLR from here. Their prices are very competitive, and their knowledge by far exceeds any of their competitors. More recently I have used them for digitizing slides. Their turnaround is quick, and they offered 4000dpi images and prints at a very reasonable price. Why would I ever go to a big-box store to buy photography equipment and supplies?

I've been a Photo Lab customer for about ten years and love the shop! The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. They serve both kinds of photographers: digital and film. It's also a great place to make prints, as they keep their printer in top shape for excellent quality. The Photo Lab should be a go-to destination for anyone interested in photography. They have a nice selection of both new and used cameras and lenses, as well.

Always a friendly place. The staff is real professional. They've been in business for years, so their wealth of knowledge in everything that has to do with photography is second to none. You can go to The Big Box store and save $10 bucks, where they're going to pull some twenty-year-old kid out of the stockroom to help you with a major purchase, or you can go to a couple of guys that know exactly what they're talkin about, they know exactly what you need, and they're not going to try to sell you something that isn't right for you.

While you might not get the discounts associated with buying gear off amazon, the service and advice from the crew here makes it well worth the minor difference in cost. I bought a flash unit and associated accessories, and the staff was very helpful in making a selection and giving advice about making the best use of it. It's also one of the few photo labs left in the capital region - I highly recommend visiting them.

This is a nice little local shop. They have photo developing equipment as well as other things that you could use with a camera. The staff was extremely helpful and kind, and they taught me some things about film developing and how to get started. Overall, I would definitely reccomend you go here if you are into analog photography!

Last of the great pro camera shops in this area. I recently returned to film photography and Photo-Lab still has 120 film and darkroom chemicals. You can buy cheaper elsewhere but you won't get better products, knowledge or service

Great camera shop from yesteryear. Nice selection of films and used equipment. I got a great deal on a Canon EF 20-70 f/2.8. Staff is very friendly.

I went to the Photo-Lab about two months ago and talked to Tom for quite some time about his recommendations for a polarizing filter and zoom lens for my 60D. It's always nice when you walk into a store for the first time, are greeted kindly and they take the time to answer any questions about photography that you may have.

Due to the fact that my first trip was pleasant I decided to go back when my 60D unexpectedly stopped working. I was once again greeted by Tom who took the time to analyze and address the issues I was having with the camera. Initially Tom couldn't find a fix so he filled out a work order and said they would send it in for me and Canon would then give me an estimate via email.

It was pretty disheartening to hear that this fix was probably going to cost me $200-300 through Canon but during our short conversation Tom mentioned a few things that used to break all the time on certain camera models. Because he took the time to think of the potential issues and didn't rush me out the door he tried one last thing and the camera came to life! It was great to have my camera back and not have to spend all that money to get it fixed. I will be doing a lot of business with the Photo-Lab from now on!

We've been there few times to get digital pictures printed. These are pictures that Walmart couldn't get right. The gentleman we dealt with was friendly and very helpful, he knew his stuff. Price was a little higher but well worth it.

Great staff. Very knowledgeable. Very generous with their time. Check them out if you're looking for a camera or printing photos.

Took the kid there today because he wants to get into film.. the owner was incredibly patient with our pestering questions, and knew every answer. This place has been in business for over 100 years, and I can see why.

Very kind folks over the phone, only issue is store doesn’t have as large of a used lens collection as I hoped and don’t do rentals. Neither of those are their fault, just was hoping something in the New York region had those services but to no avail.

When buying a decent camera, do yourself a favor and buy it from them. They are reputable and honest and will take good care of you.

They carry the stuff real photographers are looking for not the cheapo low quality stuff you can get at Walmart, etc. Been there close to 100 years, worth the one hour drive since there's nothing closer.
