Helena Specialty Pierogies

I’m not the only one who’d drive hours to pick up my pierogies here. These are tender, delicate dough in an absolutely classic Ukrainian style (Poles will feel comfortable here too! 😆).

Order ahead is a possibility if you’re wanting out of season flavors (we special ordered 2 dozen blueberry). The jalapeños variant is not strictly traditional but WOW are they good.

This is a local, family-oriented business, so don’t expect cookie-cutter service. Respect the DECADES of work that have gone into building this business and its delicious high-standard products.

And remember: these products are made in hand-batches. Call ahead to reserve what you need if you have something particular in mind. When they sell out of a specialty item—that’s it, until someone is scheduled to come in and cook up the next batch.

We were staying at the RV campground and this place came highly recommended. I stopped in and got some pierogies and took them home. My Ukrainian/Polish wife loved them and we had to go back the same day and get more! Highly recommend!

We love the pierogies here, they are so good and so delicious. She is the best.they only use cash.so be prepared before get there.our favorite one is Garlic/Cheddar cheese/Onion/Jalapeno bacon.

Heard from other places that this was a must-stop for pierogies. With this gorgeous weather, we made the 1.5 hour road trip, saw some sights, and grabbed some horseradish as well as cheddar bacon pierogies. When we came home, I sautéed them in butter and added some peas, onions, garlic and sour cream. Traditional dinner is an understatement - these are amazing and a must have. Very filling, tasty, and you won’t stop smiling. A wonderful family dinner made lovingly by the woman that sold them to us. Can’t wait to go back❤

Hands down the best perogies I've ever had. We got the Thanksgiving perogies and wow. So flavorful and delicious. We've had many other flavors and they are all equally delicious.

They weren't open yet however allowed me to pick up some things anyhow. Met a Ukrainian women who was leading a fundraising drive For her beleaguered countrymen and women. The sausage was excellent. Across the street is the world's largest garden gnome.

Hands down the best pierogis I’ve ever had. This place is simple, no frills, adding to its charm. While the pierogis are the main attraction, Helena the lovely owner is another reason to come- providing excellent recommendations and conversation. Do not miss out!

A gem. Beautiful pierogies with all choices of fillings handmade by a friendly talkative woman from Eastern Europe. This is an establishment that I will visit regularly.

Hands down the best pierogis I have ever had. Kielbasa and sauerkraut was fantastic, and try the bacon, farmer's cheese, and jalapeno if they have them on special.

This is not a dine in spot. Primarily take out. But pierogis were superb. Best I've had since visiting Poland and Ukraine.

Look no further than Helena's Pierogies for the most delicious Pierogies on the planet. Amazing selection and so easy to prepare. We usually get 3 or 4 dozen for the freezer and get to enjoy them for weeks. Slice up an onion or two....put it into a greased pan ....when the onions get translucent ...put your delicious Pierogies in with the onions and finish cooking together until the Pierogies get to a nice light brown and serve with Sour cream or apple sauce or anything you like.

Truly a hidden gem!! Great pierogis… make sure you bring cash

I traveled over the mountain from Pine Bush. Realizing I forgot my wallet I was able to scrounge together about $24 hidden in my car I was able to get two dozen delicious pierogi. I think all said and done I was about a dollar short the owner was absolutely amazing and simply said God bless... I felt bad and went back out to my car and continue to scrounge around for more money I found $15 hidden under my seat and ran it back in and dropped it in her Ukrainian donation bucket. I absolutely love this place she is doing wonders raising money and selling goods and donating profits to the ukrainians. Keep up the good work. Hands down, some of the best pierogies I’ve had. I stopped in early and picked up some spinach+garlic, onion+farmer’s cheese and cheddar, jalapeño+bacon - all deeeelicious. Can’t wait to try the others!

This place is a national treasure. Best pierogies I've ever had.

We had farmer's cheese and buffalo chicken. We loved them both but the farmer's cheese was our favorite. Highly recommend this place! Lunch for 2 for $15.25 with drinks.

My father has been taking me to get perogies from Helena for over the last 15 years and these are, HANDS DOWN the best I've ever had. We order BAGS at a shot and can't wait to go back for more. My personal favorite, THANKSGIVING PEROGIES!
