The guys here are very friendly and extremely helpful. They host pool sessions at little cost to help practice skills and stay comfortable in the water. Can’t recommend them enough!

Jim and Don run a great shop and experience. My son and I received our certification through the class and recently picked up our gear. Great instructors and easy to work with.

Great instruction on safety and proper use of gear. We went to our first class with no background and learned alot. The instructor Don is nice and makes sure you are comfortable with what you are learning. I highly recommend starting here if you have interest in learning to scuba dive. Both Jim and Don have been super! The old shop I used to go to always made me feel like they just wanted my money. This outfit puts relationship over sale, and trying to help you over trying to squeeze every last penny out of you! Very glad to have a new shop and a long term answer for all my scuba needs! Now instead of going to deal with salespeople, I go visit my friends! Very happy, try them, you will be happy too!

The best Dive shop and Dive school in Upstate NY. The whole staff are Friendly, knowledgeable, honest. Lessons and adventure opportunities are endless. Extremely patience and flexible with all classes. A++++++

I don't usually post reviews, however I will make an exception in this case in the hope that it will help someone make the right decision when considering where to receive their diving training. At the risk of dating myself, I grew up following the adventures of Lloyd Bridges in Sea Hunt and always told myself that I would learn how to SCUBA dive - someday. Well, life flew by and other priorities took precedent throughout the years. Then, my Daughter and her Fiance asked me to join them on a diving vacation. Say what? Well, that provided the nudge I needed. I contacted the various dive centers in the area and got the best feeling when talking with Don Abel from RU4SCUBA. I started with the online education course. Then, my first meeting with Don and Jim Wieser introduced me to the program and fitted me with the required gear, very professionally and patiently, I might add. Don provided the training to include the confined and open water diving instruction. I can't thank him enough for his professionalism, patience and personal demeanor exhibited throughout the course. It was a pleasure working with someone who obviously truly enjoyed what he was doing. So, if you are on the fence about entering into this whole new world of diving, do yourself a favor, take the plunge and give Don or Jim a call. You won't regret it.

I called every dive shop in Rochester and these guys were the most reasonably priced. I couldn't be more happy, plus the class is all inclusive with gear. Which is fantastic considering the other dive shop said I was going to need between $200 and $400 for fins, mask, ect. Everyone has been friendly and helpful and is even letting me borrow the equipment for my referral dives in Florida, thanks Don and Jim.

These guys are great. They treat you like a friend rather than a payday. Great instruction, patient, good humored, and fair priced. Not once have I ever felt pressured to buy anything. I would definitely recommend them!

Instructor Don does an amazing job! He takes his time to make sure you understand everything fully and truly makes you feel comfortable at your own pace. Can't wait to go again and I would recommend to anyone interested.

I liked the 1:1 lessons, they made it fun ( but don't laugh too much , you'll intake water.) and was always making sure i was comfortable with everything. I ended up trying over 4 different goggles making sure I got the right fit. They were very flexible with lesson scheduling which was super helpful. I would recommend this place to others

I would highly recommend going to RU4Scuba for training and one's diving needs. The staff is very friendly and know what they are doing for training. Did a diving trip with them as well and it was a great time.

I am a senior at Palmyra-Macedon and I am working on a big tee-shirt cannon for our senior project and as our firing system, we are using a scuba tank. I called the local shops and this place was very nice and got me the help and even took me step by step on how to do all. If you meet Abel he is the nicest guy I have met by far, glad to do business with them and I would recommend anyone interested in Scuba in a heart beat

Don and I meet today with my son for his first SCUBA lesson. My son has severe autism but I want him to experience different things. My son wasn't interested in the lesson, but Don was patient and understanding. On top of that, he refused to let me pay for the lesson! He was warm and willing to go above and beyond his time to see if my son would like to experience this. He's also willing to come out in the future to try again. I admire Don for his love of SCUBA and ease with my son.

The right type of dive shop. No pressure and 1:1 instructions . If you need an extra class, no extra charge and no shame. No equipment sold unnecessarily. They are passionate about driving, not becoming wealthy.
