While renting from signature things were really nice for most part. The bad things were We did have to go 2 weeks without hot water and have a shower glass door shatter in bathroom when younger daughter was in bathroom after we told handyman that top brace was very loose. Besides that incident it was fine but year after lease expired we become in situation to where we would no longer be able to continue to afford living there. Moving was rough. Multiple times a week we had visitors come into our home while trying to pack all belongings while they demanded the place looked perfect. We we accumulated a bunch of contractor bags of trash and donation bags and put tarp over them on side of house until Sat when I could get them to dump and was treated horribly over that. Received nasty messages about the contractor bags. It’s like they expected to keep house perfect without having moving things out of house or up and or pushed us to have only last days to move. We were treated as dirt less than human because we were moving. We explained how difficult it was it be packing less and making house look perfect with text saying they were showing less than 24 hour notice that that people would be looking at the house we were told we didn’t have a choice and under no circumstances could we be there. Even sometimes without the realtor people showed up so we honestly had no idea who was going into in the house we had paid for that month had access and view to personal property. They refused to wait to show until we were moved and I could understand but that delayed our move. Other than very small scratches (which Ion wall and a $15 window panel replacement, we lost out on 1050 deposit which also we gave 29 or 28 day notice.received horrible messages demanding that day we left the we landscape the yard before our last day. Sometimes while at work they would just show up and ask our kids if they could show the house (13 and 7 y/o daughters) so they would have to leave the house and random people asking to see the house because they heard it was coming up for rent. We are not nasty people, we are hard working middle class people and only issues we had with rent payment was I would send the check from Corning which routed it to Rochester causing it 2 weeks for delivery. Which we resolved that by taking check directly to P.O. Box location. Even after treated with such disrespect and the unwillingness of Signature Properties to allow give us time to pack without showings or kicking my kids out without warning or them having place to go, we still complied. We did the made sure yard, house and all items except the ones left there when we moved in we’re there. Idk about law regarding forfeiting deposit on less than 30 days but I figured we wouldn’t of gotten it back anyways but we still made sure place was decent as possible given the obstacles we had to endure. Signature Properties never again!!!! Point is, once you give your notice. It’s hard as hell to move with so many showings without permission to be in home that you paid for (not behind on rent not being evicted) found no cause to be treated they way we were. They have nice properties but hopefully you can afford be able to start moving into a new place a month prior to giving notice because they will make your life a loving hell
