The Mine Tavern

It's our first time visiting as my fiance and I were spending the weekend in the area to just kinda get away from work and life for a moment. They have such a familial atmosphere and its like everyone knows everyone and I love that kind of vibe. The food is delicious -- and I'm just socially awkward but they've been great here. We are here during super bowl completely by accident and it's just so much fun. If you want good food and just to enjoy yourself, I highly recommend

This bar sets the bar. Best bar bar none. Wish they served chocolate bars, though. Last night I went to spit some bars and take the edge off after studying for my bar exam and it was so sick the bartender bars the door! We were all barred from leaving the bar while he played a few bars of free bird. Worth noting the pressure in this bar is slightly above 1 bar, likely due to the HVAC system.

Good food too

We come here on our dirtbike trips to Wayne. The food is always top-notch and the service is always great. Never had an issue been coming to this place for a few years now would highly recommend if you’re looking for a good bite in the area

Great atmosphere, awesome food and the folks working there were a delight. The special this Saturday was any single burger on the menu and fries for 6 bucks…the burger was outstanding and the fries even better. Highly recommend the Mine.

In a town of average… this one is a standout. Order the mine burger, the single patty version is more than enough for the average person. Will be back every time I come through town.

It's a great historic bar that wears its age well. Enjoyed the local crew representing the Browns. Check it out if you're stopping in Nelsonville.

Recently under new ownership, everything has been updated very nicely. The people are great, very friendly atmosphere. Great food like Tuesday .50¢ wings witch was delicious! Also a very nice back closed in outdoor patio. I highly recommend everyone visiting the crew at the mine for a drink and a great social atmosphere!

Amazing place! Got a hamburger & fries. Was done in 10 minutes & cooked perfectly. Food special was only $5! Small bar. 1 Pool table & plenty of tables for eating. All ages were here when I was. Someone brought grandma to bar & she was enjoying herself. Clean bathroom.

Get the Miner burger! Great atmosphere, service and food. Just...GO!

Great small town bar. Mine burger was amazing! New area that is now ATV friendly. Server was fun and gave good suggestions. Will definitely go back when in the area!

I can't believe that I've only been in this place twice. In my hometown and I found out that this is the oldest running tavern in the United States. It's been open since 1842 and has never closed down. It's amazing it still has the tin ceiling, a little dark but I guess that's so everybody looks good at closing time.🤣 I give it 4 tens🥳

Remember the show "Cheers" where everybody knew your name? That's the happiness you feel when being served at The Mine. Friendly atmosphere, good drinks and fantastic Mine Burgers. Hey the Fish is out of this world too. Smoke free environment but you smokers have a nice place outside. So join in on the fun and meet "Joe" the owner. My hometown and I am proud of it.

Great food with their own unique recipes, awesome fast paced staff, and the genuine home town feel makes this one hell of a bar to visit. I never have a bad experience.

Try the Mine Burger or their chicken tenders tossed in boom boom sauce! Honestly the best chicken I've ever had.

Hell yea, this place was tight! Steve the bartender took care of me, recommended food and drinks! Spit out some cool science facts to me and held great conversations. Go and grab a drink from this guy!

Go grab a drink from Steve! He set me up right. Knew his drinks, had some good food options and kept good convos with me and my dad. I love this small town bar!

Was down in town for birthday weekend for the girlfriend. She found the spot and we were pleased! The Mine burger was incredible the server was amazing! Great spot to grab a beer, a burger, and stay away from all the other tourists.

Steve the bartender did a bang up job. His nice mustache added to the bars mystic and atmosphere. Would highly recommend.

Ten of us stopped for dinner. Staff was very friendly and patient. Food was amazing and the beer was ice cold. If we didn't live four hours away we would be regulars for sure.
