I'll be honest, I was very surprised by how good the food was here. Ashtabula doesn't exactly come to mind when I think of fine dining, but Bascule Bridge pulled out all the stops. We loved the ambiance, our waiter was hilarious and attentive, and every dish we ordered was phenomenal. I also loved seeing the chefs working were women, more power to you ladies! Thank you for making my birthday dinner fantastic. We'll definitely be back sometime when we're in the area!

If you have not been, you are missing out! We had the duck and pork chop…both were some of the best proteins we have had! And for the price point it cannot be beat! The tiramisu is the lightest and most flavorful I’ve ever had. If we lived closer, we would be frequent visitors!

Probably the best meal of my life! From the charcuterie board to dessert and everything in between, absolutely fantastic! The stand out from all the phenomenal dishes was shockingly the arugula salad! We were in town visiting and am disappointed we won't be able to make this a staple in our lives!

My wife and I dined with two other couples using our Erie Fine Dining Card. It was our first time at Bascule Bridge Grille. Moe was the best server that I've had in many, many years. He was courteous, prompt, knowledgeable, and an absolute pleasure to have wait on our table. The prime sirloin dinner that I had was awesome. All of our meals came out in a reasonable amount of time and were served hot. We don't usually have desert but we had to try the cheesecake. It was top notch. We'll definitely be back again.

Absolutely fantastic meal. The menu rotates so check in often to see if your favorite is on the list. But it is pricey So save your shekels.

Just had dinner here for the first time on our way home from Cleveland. It did not disappoint! Our server was lovely and welcoming. Every bite of food was fantastic. From the caramelized onion and Gruyere tart, to the perfectly cooked filet, to the best Brussels sprouts I’ve ever had in my life (not exaggerating), every dish was better than the last. We’re already making plans to return and try other choices. A must-try if you’re anywhere near Ashtabula.

Beautiful atmosphere, it was perfect for a romantic dinner. The complimentary bread and vinegar/oil blend was wonderful. Hubby and I both ordered an arugula salad, which was superb. We ordered the seafood and linguini fra diavolo and the 10oz filet mignon with whipped potatoes and asparagus. The entrees were delicious and full of flavor.

Amazing date night experience! Moe was professional yet down to earth. Everything we ordered was beyond delicious. We are so blessed to live by a beautiful historic area with some top notch restaurants. This one is our favorite.

We went for the oysters and our server offered us a choice of two different kinds, she described them perfectly and I was able to make the right choice for my preferences. I also had the crab cake and it was the perfect size and tasted fresh and delicious. The service was excellent, not a single complaint about our experience.

The Chef's board was wonderful. Our salads were great. My boyfriend got the jägerschnitzel and I had the sirloin, we both had the mashed potatoes. It was all so well seasoned and delicious. Our cocktails were also well balanced and flavorful. The service was fast and friendly, even on a busy New Year's Eve night. We enjoyed everything and intend on returning soon.

Can’t say enough to rate Bascule. Was invited for a friend’s birthday dinner and each one of us had our eyes popping on the first bite of our respective dishes. Guys, this is a must visit if in Ashtabula or a even if drive down (like us from downtown cle)! Loved the vegetarian dishes and the drinks equally. The Rice pilaf tastes so good! The starter platter kept us super engaged with the variety and the quality of food served.
Am super happy and glad for having made it to the best restaurant in Ashtabula :)

We had a very delicious meal. The atmosphere was very quaint. Our server Ryan took excellent care of us. We were impressed by everyone and John the Chef/Proprietor came to our table to make sure everything was prepared to our satisfaction. We would definitely recommend and hope to be back soon.

The atmosphere is very relaxed and the food was beyond our expectations. Our waitress was perfect and we couldn't have a better experience. We will definitely be back for another dinner.

There is nowhere better to eat in Ashtabula. I mean, it's not even close. My second dining experience here, on 6/19/21, was top notch. The wine selection was incredible. The food was, to borrow the cliche, to die for. The sheer amount of flavor combinations you can create from the Chef's Board bordered on the absurd, in a good way. And that Mediterranean Bruschetta? That wasn't just food; that was an experience. Practically needed to recompose myself after that first bite. Between the board, all three courses, plus dessert, you simply can't leave there still hungry. You can't leave unsatisfied (unless you do something like order fish and you don't like fish, but that's on you). The staff was always friendly and prompt, even as the dining area started to fill up. I only had one slight complaint in that my whiskey arrived neat instead of on the rocks. But that's nearly splitting hairs at that point. My wife and I plan on making this spot a regular place to go around our anniversary.

We went here for a romantic dinner and could not have picked a better place. The food is out of this world good and the service was very reliable and personable. The arugula salad was life changing. I highly recommend a meal here.

Bascule Bridge Grille was just superb. Thank you to our wait staff Moe and Brie - Moe also attended to an international corporate group and speaks Japanese. Amazing. We thought fine dining was dead. Douglas Trattner not so !

The food and service here was top notch! Our friends and us recently got the Erie Dining Group cards. We decided we would start at the top and make our way through the list. Bascule Bridge Grille was the first place on the list. Our server was Moe and honestly he was the best server any of us had ever had. He was super personable and helped us with choosing what to eat! He did amazing. We had absolutely zero complaints. Everything tasted amazing. *chefs kiss*

Dropped in for drinks and stayed for dinner. Great atmosphere wall to wall. Food, drinks and service were all excellent. Highly recommend.

Exceptional pork dinner! Service was very attentive and engaging. Catered to our reservation well and made sure our dinner was enjoyed throughout.

Awesome food. This place never disappoints. We come all the way from Erie, always worth the trip.
