Black Forest Pub & Grille

Outstanding.  Some of the most outstanding hospitality we've experienced in the Northwoods.  Black Forest Pub & Grille was a real treat tonight.  From the engaging conversation with Collin and Mike at the historic Bar to the vivacious charm of our server Kat - our food and dining experience far surpassed our expectations.  My seared Salmon was perfect and the handmade fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp was buttery and creamy.  Make the drive as soon as you can, you'll be glad you did.  Ask for Mike & Kat to enjoy their enthusiasm and Northwoods hospitality.

We celebrated New Years Eve here and what an experience! Mike delivered the best holiday drinks and Kat was an amazing, friendly server. So glad they reopened! The steak and lobster was fabulous at only $55!!!

Newly reopened in October 2023. Already very busy. New menu but the items are done well. Excellent Veal schnitzel and spaetzel. German draft beers.

I was greeted by the bartender as I entered. The server was very helpful and friendly. The salmon entree was well prepared and the accompanying salad was delicious. I'll be back again soon.

This is the second time we've been here while staying for a long weekend in Eagle River. We really enjoy the breakfast menu on the weekend! The staffing seems a little light as the service was a little slow for our family with young kids, but it's certainly not for lack of effort on the wait staffs' part.

The breakfast food is hearty and there's a good deal of variety without the menu being overwhelmingly large. The German-themed potatoes are excellent! We'll certainly be back again with family!

I had dinner at the Black Forest Pub not realizing the restaurant was hosting a girls' night out multi-vendor in the back. Both the bartender and my server were welcoming and friendly. My meal was fantastic, and the busy kitchen kept it all going, despite the special event. I loved the handsome dining room!

Great game a place to eat in Three lakes worth the drive from Rhinelander we will be coming back every week trying to work our way through the menu

Loved the food! Had a great salad with house vinegrette. Maple rye old fashioned. And tenderloin tips over spaetzle with mushrooms in light cream sauce. Yum. My favorite is sitting near the fireplace!

Black Forest Restaurant - Experience Gemütlichkeit - Last Tuesday we enjoyed a tasty meal at Black Forest Pub and Grille as part of our annual family reunion festivities. Gemütlichkeit means friendship, warmth, and good cheer and that is exactly what we found at Black Forest. Owners Marcel and Heather Biró served up a warm welcome paired with delicious food and wine. I had the grilled salmon fillet - wild caught salmon with a ginger garlic teriyaki glaze over garlic fried rice and sautéed spinach. It was perfect. We will definitely be back for more!

Hands down the best mac and cheese I have ever had! They have a large menu so there is something for everyone.

Dinner was delicious! Large menu with authentic German food as well as burgers, wraps, and salads. Gotta go for the Winzerfpanne!!

Delicious dining, friendly service, and quaint atmosphere!

Excellent dining experience. I had the Zander fish fry. Big portion and it was delicious. Tender and flakey with a light breading and cooked perfectly. Had to make room for the apple strudel … so good! We sat by the fireplace on a snowy day and the service was awesome. Can’t wait to come back!

I've not been a particular fan of German cuisine, but a few more visits here and I think I'll be a convert. Every dish I've had was excellent and the atmosphere has a laid back authentic European feel. They must have the best beer selection in the north woods, especially for those who like traditional styles.

Really nice atmosphere! Our server Jasmine was an absolute delight!(hope your wedding goes well) She was very personable and knowledgeable about the menu! Food was very good. Nice selection of wine and beer. I would highly recommend anything on the menu with the mushroom cream sauce as it was excellent! Thank you for the great meal!

I can’t say enough about this place. From the moment we walked in the door, they were nothing but fantastic. The hostess got us seated almost right away and saved our butts with a box full of toys when my 3 year old started throwing a fit. Immediate relief. Our waitress Rachel was awesome and super attentive. The food was just delicious. My parents had the perch fish fry. Excellent. My husband had the chicken sandwich, which he says was the best chicken sandwich he’s ever had. Highly recommend!!

We love Good German food, and they have done of the best! Their Red Cabbage was top notch... way better than most places, which usually make it way too sweet. The sauerbraten was tender and delicious. You can tell it was properly marinated and cooked slowly compared to places that just cook beef roast and think they can fool us just by smothering it in gravy. We will return for sure.

We had our Valentine's dinner here and cannot speak highly enough of the service. We got a reservation confirmation after hours via email. Despite a full house, service was prompt, precise, and (most importantly) friendly and warm. The food is always fantastic. We are truly lucky to have such a great German restaurant in the Northwoods.

A well hidden gem of Germany awaits you in Three Lakes, WI. The schnitzel is hand pressed and breaded to perfection, but the large menu offers many other non German items equally as delicious so there's something for everyone -- even pizza! Whiskey/Bourbon lovers will thoroughly enjoy the Whiskey Manhattan or my favorite -- the Bourbon Bomb Pop. Excellent service will round out a great evening for everyone in your party.
