Whiskey Creek Group Picnic Area (Whiskeytown NRA)

We had the beach all to ourselves, besides the friendly goose. That liked snacking on chips with our boys!!

Love to take my dog here to run. When it is the off season there is a big parking lot by the boat ramp that I take him to. He loves chasing the drone I fly around and it is GREAT exercise for him. He also loves to swim and fetch sticks here. It is a pretty great spot in the winter for us to get out to when it is not raining since the fire damage has so much of the place closed off this year.

Went kayacking. Beautiful scenery even after the fire. If you visit be sure to look up. We saw an Eagles nest with a baby in it. It was awesome! Water is Crystal clear. Can't wait to go back.

I've been going here for twenty plus years. I really love this place. There's a fishing platform that's a little sunny. Bathrooms on site. Bbq pits and shaded areas for you and the kids. Even a roped swimming area for the little ones. And they keep it really clean. All around great place!

Nice place to take your family and friends just try to go on a week day because the weekend's are very busy and there are a lot of people that just hang around and a few of them are really gross and obnoxious and very loud 🔊🔊🔊🔊 but besides that it's a nice place to go fishing or swimming or just to relax so go have fun up at the lake 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸👍👍🇺🇸👍

They are doing a great job of cleaning after the Carr Fire. The open space really let's you appreciate the beauty of the lake and surrounding area

Nice clean picnic / day use area. And the lake is beautiful. One thing to know is that you need to get on line and get a pass before going because there is no way to pay once you get there.

Our favorite spot to go on the lake. There are picnic tables and bbq pits. There is usually shade and a nice area to paddle, swim, or float. Plus there are bathrooms in the parking lot.

Great place for picnic. Easy access to lake. Water gradually gets deeper so good for younger children.

A beautiful place to stop and go swimming. The water was very warm on the day I was there. Despite the fire, it's still beautiful.

Love it! People are friendly and the lake is beautiful! Very family friendly.

The hot sunny weather in the area calls for a dip in the lake and Whiskeytown Lake is prefect for a swim.

I have found one of my many new places to #sunnertime 😁 It is beautiful here!!
