Really great place to sit at the bar have some cocktails and dinner. So many things to look at. Bartenders are friendly and the locals are so much fun to talk to. They have a huge menu with anything you’d like. Huge cocktail selection and the list of great things here go on and on!

Update 12/2023:

As always, another fabulous time at Lardo. This restaurant is seriously underrated. There’s nothing quite like one of their 1/3 pound, 100% ground beef patties with their signature Lardo fries (the best cut EVER) dipped in delicious house made fry sauce.

On my most recent drop-in, husband and I ordered the Ranch Hand Burger (fried egg, Canadian bacon, salsa, $15.49) and the Jalapeño Burger (with Swiss, $15.49). He said his burger was delicious. There was a decent amount of salsa, so it was pretty messy but the combination of the egg and bacon with juicy burger was unbeatable. My jalapeños didn’t quite pack the punch like it had previously, but overall it was still very, very yummy, especially with a lil dab of their fry sauce. I swear this is the best version I have yet to have. Can’t wait to be back again very soon!

06/2020:

I could go on and on about how much I absolutely love Lardo's Grill & Saloon. Like I could probably write an entire freaking book about it I love this place so much. The food, the service, the atmosphere. This place has got it all.

We'll start with the atmosphere. Awesome. You walk right in and typically get seated right away. The interior of the building looks rather run down and cluttery, like an old barn house, but that's the aesthetic and it adds to the experience.

Servers are always very kind. They check on you enough when you need more fry sauce (which I could rave about all day) but not too much to where you can actually enjoy your meal. If something is wrong, they'll take it back right away and fix it for you.

Finally, there is nothing more satisfying, more delicious, than a juicy thick hamburger and fries drenched in fry sauce after a week long backpacking trip in the mountains. Each and every bite of the burgers I get here is like meeting God. I mean, really. It's that freaking awesome. I've had nearly all the burgers on the menu, most recent had a bacon burger that brought me back to life and a jalapeño chicken sandwich that not only filled me up but cleared my sinuses. Hands down my favorite eatery in little McCall.

I am looking forward to further experiences at Lardo's. I think I may need to try some of that spaghetti that looks oh so good...

So, when it comes to the Reuben sandwich, I'm an amateur connoisseur. The three things restaurants often get wrong (sometimes all at once!) is 1-soggy bread from 'kraut juice (usually the bottom piece of bread), 2-over toasted/grilled, crouton-like bread that leaves the roof of my mouth shredded and raw for the rest of the day, and 3-weak, thin sliced corned beef. Lardo did not have soggy bread. Not sure if they drain the 'kraut or what, but the marble rye texture was just right and the roof of my mouth left in satisfactory condition. And the corned beef was the kind that was obviously not out of a thin-slice deli aisle, but rather taken off of a big chunk of corned beef brisket. And it seemed they shredded it and it mingled with the 'kraut perfectly. Best Reuben I've had in 10 years at least. Oh and the service was fast and very friendly (but not annoyingly friendly), and my son loved the Rib Eye, and the cheddar beer soup was really good. Thanks, Lardo!

Super great! Staying one night on our way home and this place seemed like the most local and interesting spot for dinner. Very cool atmosphere - if you love rustic, character, and an Old West /70's vibe (if you grew up in the 80's you know what I'm talking about), this place has it! The food was awesome, if you come on Friday get their clam chowder - some of the best I've had and I'm maybe a tough critic having spent most of my life in the Seattle area (great seafood). All around, we loved it and we'll certainly come back next time we're in town.

We had the pleasure of dining at Lardo Grill & Saloon in McCall, Idaho, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience that left me craving more! From the moment I stepped through the door, the warm and inviting ambiance, combined with the tantalizing aroma of delicious food, set the stage for a memorable dining adventure.

Let's start with the star of the show—the food! Lardo Grill & Saloon serves up some of the most mouthwatering dishes I've ever had the pleasure of tasting. Their menu features a delightful array of options that cater to all palates. Whether you're a meat lover, a seafood enthusiast, or a vegetarian seeking culinary delights, Lardo Grill & Saloon has got you covered.

The quality of the ingredients was evident in every bite. The meats were succulent, tender, and bursting with flavor. I highly recommend trying their signature steak, cooked to perfection and accompanied by delectable sides that complemented the dish beautifully.

The staff was friendly, and welcoming. The service was prompt and efficient.

The rustic yet charming ambiance of Lardo Grill & Saloon added a touch of authenticity to the overall experience. The décor showcased the rich history of the region while maintaining a cozy and relaxed atmosphere.

To top it all off, the bar at Lardo Grill & Saloon is well-stocked with an impressive selection of craft beers, wines, and signature cocktails. The bar area offered a billiards table.

I had a fantastic meal at Lardo Grill last night! Seating was prompt, service was friendly and attentive, and the food was excellent. They also had a great selection of local microbrews on tap.

While they were out of prime rib by 8pm they did have the prime rib sandwich which was superb with the addition of sauteed onions. The ribeye was cooked to perfection and served with salad and baked potato.

It's the perfect, low-key steakhouse with the mounted animals on the wall and dimly-lit saloon/bar at entry. The menu is massive so you'll have no problem finding something for everyone in the family.

I was pleasantly surprised and can't wait to return!

The food was very good, but Lardo's is a busy place. Lots going on when we were in town. I liked the wild decor and the pot belly stove that warms the interior is one of the biggest wood stoves I've ever seen. There's lots on the walls to keep your eyes busy while you wait for your food. We went during the Winter Ice festival, and McCall was a busy, busy place. There's also a ski resort about 4 miles away for those of you who partake in skiing and snowboarding 🏂. I would recommend Lardo's for the best food in town. 😊

Directly across the street from Shore Lodge. What a pleasure it was dining here twice. Food and drinks are very reasonably priced and excellent quality. Quite busy at dinner time but service was great. Definitely will be back on our next trip to McCall

Love the atmosphere, service, and the food! Had the Prime Dip and it was wonderful! Bottomless drinks from our wonderful server, Kristen, made our lunch even better. I asked for authentic Isaho and Lardo's is the real deal!

I came in for lunch and had an excellent prime rib French Dip sandwich with their home fries.

The meat was a wonderful medium-rare and the fries were excellent.

The only little remark is - what are these few pathetic veggies doing on the plate? And the big piece of cabbage looks yucky! Oversight? The main cook needs to have better control on what's going out of the kitchen.

BUT, the food, again, was excellent, and certainly deserving all 5 stars!!!

We enjoyed a FABULOUS dinner at Lardos Grill, and we will return! The service was excellent and my Reuben sandwich was right up there with the very best I've ever had! Thank you Lardos! The silver boot was a wine bottle holder that I'm in love with! It was at the neighbor's table and they graciously let me take pictures. 💜

We had dinner at Lardos, and it was amazing! We had the Prime Rib Dip sandwich and the Steak Philly sandwich and both were really good! Their buffalo fries are a must! This is our first trip to McCall, and we’re already planning on coming back. We’ll be coming back to Lardos when we do.

Loved the food it's a little pricey but trust me worth every penny. I had all my grandkids with me and our waitress was wonderful with the whole family. I would suggest the prime rib & spaghetti. The decor matches the small town of McCall a little rustic. But wonderful service, food and drinks.

Lardos is one of the two restaurants in McCall worth dining at. The staff is very friendly. Thank you to Cassandra for our lovely lunch.

I have been to and now written off every other restaurant in town. The other restaurants are either horrible food, pretentious staff, or both.

I recommend Lardos as one of the best dining experiences in McCall.

What a cute little place. It was packed on Saturday night and we had to wait a bit but it was fine it wasn’t long wait. The waitress was very polite and it was my bd so the bartender hooked me up with a drink and did double shot for free which was awesome!!!! Food was good too. Fun atmosphere and very kids and intoxicated adult friendly lol.

We have an argument going, does Lardo have the best finger steaks in Idaho, or the second-best finger steaks in Idaho? Honestly it depends on who I talk too. I'm not going to be able to settle this debate during my review, but Lardo is a great dive restaurant to take anyone too. If you are lucky enough to be here on a Friday, try the clam chowder. You will have to decide if it's the best in the state or not, either way, it's really good.

We came up to McCall on a buy weekend & this place was fairly packed but got us seated quickly. They have a great menu as well as kids. My husband and I both got burgers which were AMAZING! I absolutely loved their Lardo fries! Sooo soo yummy. I also got a Huckleberry Lemonade so delish. It definitely had enough 44 North for my liking 😉
