Part of the experience of Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons is seeing as much of it as you can. The Caribou-Targhee National Forest is no exception.

This is a beautiful forest area with access to all the activities that make for great experience, forests, high desert plains, lakes, creeks, and waterfalls.
We camped, went four wheeling, fishing, and hiking. We went home wonderfully, relaxed, and totally exhausted a perfect week.

Nothing like a climb up a steep steep hill to reach a destination quicker. It also helps if you go with a strong male friend that’s really good at navigating steep terrain. It was a beautiful view from the top amongst the sun bleached rocks and old cedars oh and rock chucks. Lots of them. Saw free range bulls including 2 white bulls. No sightings of coyotes. Or Moose or Mtn. Lions and tigers and bears, oh my! Thank goodness. I was raised in Las Vegas aka concrete jungle. Our wild animals consist of scorpions rattle snakes lizards tarantulas and tortoises.

I recommend a Trail Creek hike just after sunrise!!

Will post photos after editing

IMO He should work for the Forestry Service fighting fires. Just saying )

I love this place. I've ridden several of the the thousands of miles of ATV trails. They range from very easy to difficult. I've rolled my atv a few times out here but continue to return. (Rider error) my most recent visit I took my son and brother out for an overnight camping trip. For the most part people know how to clean up after themselves and the forest service seems up on all maintenance. The spot we chose was secluded yet only 50 yars off a gravel road. We left camp and drove about 15 minutes to the hot springs. At camp we didn't have power (obviously) so we used the generator when needed but overall we had a blast!

Beautiful place to visit both in the winter and in the summer. The area around mess falls makes for gorgeous views both from the car and on foot if your up for a short hike. Several trails in the area that will bring you through think forest to amazing overlooks. Not very crowded even in the summer, but be aware the road closes to cars in the winter, so if you want to see the falls be prepared to walk several miles or bring a snowmobile.

We camp in this area every year on BLM land. We love the free access. The area is beautiful with elk, deer, birds, trees, streams, and mountains, and you can access so much of it through hundreds of miles of trails.

Amazing scenery! Kinda crowded but the hike to the cave is beautiful! The trees are nice and green and wildlife is plentiful. Expect to see squirrels and chipmunks.
Great place to take the family! Amazing Natl. Forest, one of the best I have seen. Truly a beautiful sight.

I visited this place to obtain a balance in myself. This Forrest is majestic and friendly. I spent the night alone far in the woods and experienced healing in a tribal manner, facing the various fears connected to the need to preserve one's life and overcoming them. This place is tranquil with it's own unique atmosphere. Enjoy this place when you visit, but please treat the land with respect. Don't litter or destroy. Places like this are important to preserve.

If you want a little tranquillity and stillness in this thing we call life then head to the mountains!! People's lives get so busy that they seem to forget how to enjoy the simple things in life and mother nature at her finest !! People take the little things that provide so much and sustain us for granted. Wish more people would slow down and remember what life is all about .. learn to love and respect all things in life not just what is within arm's length !!

The water here had a turquoise color and was so clear you could see old trees and large boulders at the bottom. The sun was setting and the light cut through the limestone carved canyon at the perfect angle. The wind was gentle and made the trees sway slowly. The leaves were orange, yellow and red, except for the evergreens of course. The air had a crispsness to it that said winter was fast approaching. you could smell a light flowery frangrance in the breeze. The water was so cold but after a few minutes your body went numb.

These pictures were taken on a hike at a special time, Total Solar Eclipse, August 21, 2017. I plan on going back to day-hike to Table Mountain again. Stunning view of the Teton Range.

Huge campgrounds. Close to falls creek. The river runs right on the edge of the campground. Very peaceful and quiet. Not crowded at all.

We had the most amazing experience! We rented a yurt which was surprisingly warm. It was very clean when we arrived and they had tons of firewood for the wood stove. The scenery around it is just fantastic! I would definitely do the yurt stay again. The Rangers taking care of the state park are also very friendly and professional. I highly recommend this park.

I stayed in for only 8 minutes, but when I got out every single sore muscle and joint ache completely disappeared for the next 10 hours. Thank you Wim Hoff and Dr. Rohnda Patrick for the extreme cold water therapy advice. Beautiful park.

Lots of beautiful big trees. Narrow roads. So go slow and share the road. Watch for cows too. Beautiful forest.
