Stayed here for a family gathering over the weekend and everything was great. We had 8 rooms total. Charming, quiet hotel with great service, nice complimentary wine hour, and decent breakfast for the price, although the coffee could be better. The staff was excellent even if there was a Buckeye fan among them (Go Tigers!). From entertaining during wine hour and attentiveness at breakfast, I couldn't have asked for better service or nicer staff. The hotel is in a quiet location near the embassies and within walking distance to good food and a short bus hop or scooter ride to the major attractions. The rooms were overall clean, however smelled a bit musty. AC units appear to be the culprit. Bed and pillows were both comfortable and provided a good nights rest. We usually stay in big chain hotels using points and status but would definitely stay here again when visiting DC for the quiet vibe and awesome staff.

Absolutely loved our stay here! Every member of the staff we interacted with was friendly and helpful. The room was cute and ample, the hotel was clean, and location was awesome! Location was walkable for plenty of food options, close to the Zoo, and the neighborhood was very nice.

Quiet location, despite the renovations happening at the hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful with suggestions about where to eat & how to get around without a car. I was SO happy not to have a car because parking anywhere in DC is always a challenge.
The daily wine & cheese happy hour is welcoming. We didn’t eat breakfast there because $15 for a modified Continental breakfast just seemed too much. Since it is an older building, the HVAC is only a 2-pipe system, meaning there is either A.C. or heating. The weather at the start of our stay was temperate and the building had turned on the heat. Our room was quite warm, so we turned off the thermostat and borrowed a fan from the front desk. The rooms have mini-fridges. A microwave is available to guests in the lounge where happy hour is held. Though most of the staff was friendly and helpful, Blake was a star in helping us get settled when we arrived. The location is convenient to DuPont Circle & the Metro. I would definitely stay here again.

Great hotel that feels like a home. Cozy rooms that felt bigger than a typical room. Location is near the Embassies and 10 min walking distance from Adams Morgan and DuPont. Neighborhood parking is available on the weekends after 8:30pm Friday.

Love the style and design elements used in the rooms and lobby. There is such important attention to detail along with making it feel cozy and inviting. breakfast is cute. Location is superb, but most of all the staff is professional, efficient, understanding, and accommodating, most of all really welcoming.
Blake keeps it 1000 :)

Blake made the entire checking-in process so easy! We showed up a little early and he allowed early check-in, advised on the best parking situation, and offered free wine! The room appeared be newly renovated and was better than expected! I don’t see how anyone could have given less than 5 stars considering how well you’re treated here. We will recommend this hotel to anyone we know visiting the area!

Honestly they knocked it out of the park! I had a convention to attended all weekend at the Hilton right down the street. & this hotel really is nice quiet relaxing while being in a wonderful area. Walking distance to awesome food & other attractions.

For sure I'd stay again the staf was very very kind, the bed was comfortably. Great pillows, & the shower was 10/10!!!

blake at the front desk handled everything with ease & made us all laugh!

We hosted group of about 30 folks for our conference and everyone had only praise for the hotel! The daily wine hour provided great time for conversation and connection, staff were present and helpful with all of our requests, and the rooms were comfortable and well set. Milena and Lindsay were FABULOUS to coordinate through and made our planning as seamless as possible! Unlike other reviews, we had no issues with WIFI. Would definitely return to The Normandy!

They are under construction out front with no place to park, even to check in. They didn't reveal this when I booked and, in fact, said they had valet parking and told me to find street parking when I called. I ended up parking far away and taking a Lyft with all my luggage. Room was nice though.

Such a lovely hidden gem. Everything was excellent for our taste. I plan to return when we go back to town. Homey, romantic, community oriented. Love.

The staff was wonderful here. The room was big and very clean. I only wish it had been closer to the Metro. (But I am lazy...so there's that. )

A very pleasant stay. The location is very convenient close to a red line subway station but even if you wish you can easily walk up to the White House. It is a very lovely area with a lot of restaurants and bars. We had a great recommendation for Briana which she was so lovely and nice during our check in.

Our room was very clean and big enough for 2 people. We included breakfast which was excellent choice since the buffet was very fulfilling with a lot of options to choose.

I’ve stayed at this hotel twice - one in 2017 and again this year and still love this place. Small, cozy, and super friendly. The customer service is phenomenal and they made me feel so welcomed both times - years apart. The cheese and wine hour is great and just the pick me up you need, as I’ve come for business and this has allowed me to slow down a bit. The rooms are decorated in a fun way, the rooms are cozy and have just what you need. It was rainy one day and all the umbrellas were on loan and the girl at the front desk let me borrow her personal one. I love the hotel and will definitely be back. It’s very homey inside.

Hey guys, so me and my buddy are doing a road trip to west palm and stopped on the way to Washington.
We decided to stay in The Normandy because the location was great, it was a 10$ uber from everywhere.
I don't know why people put one and two star reviews.
Everything was great, its a bang for a buck and I wanna say that the staff, especially Teressa was more than amazing, you can say when someone loves her job because she was super nice and helpful.
We said that we plan on going out the same night and she literally called her friends and put us on a guest list in a great nightclub in Washington.
I see people saying this and that doesn't work, I don't know . i was here for a night and everything was perfect.
We even parked on the street because again Teressa suggested that because during the weekend the parking is free.
Highly would recommend and Teressa, if you are reading that, we had a great night haha, wanted to say goodbye but really appreciate your hospitality.
Would highly recommend.

This boutique hotel is so quaint & cute! I felt like I was apart of the neighborhood with eatieries nearby. The rooms are cozy and clean. From the check-in to check/out I was pleasantly pleased with the staff, professional & prompt. I had a minor issue with a bed and I promise before I could end my call, maintenance was at my door. I wasn’t solo this time, but I often travel solo and I feel like this would be a perfect spot had I been solo. Also, there is a daily wine hour 5-6pm. I just wanted to sit and have a cup of tea lol I can’t wait to return for a longer stay!

The hotel was clean and well put together with friendly staff. Location was great and would definitely recommend to friends and family for future visits. Great place for the great price compared to the rest of DC. The Normandy is located close to the great attractions as well.

If you're expecting high society you're in the wrong place. If you're expecting a functional hotel that focuses on the important things without bells and whistles, then you're in the right place. They offer valet parking for a fee, which is nice peace of mind in DC. The rooms are not spacious, but the furniture is nice and in good repair, and the bed is comfortable. The gentleman working the desk was very polite and kind, he even offered me an extra blanket because it's been cold outside. The bathroom is very nice, comparable to hotels that charge more than double the nightly rate offered here. I checked in after 2am and unfortunately there must have been a very rude and inconsiderate guest earlier, because the elevator had an unpleasant smell, so I elected to take the stairs. I'm sure it will be fixed tomorrow. Other than that this place is exactly what I look for as a young professional on vacation. Affordable, good location, good amenities, none of the excessive frills that attract rich folks and drive up prices.
