Now, I love a good “build your own charcuterie” experience. It’s probably my favorite thing to do. This place is PERFECT for it! They have so many options of jams, olive oils, pickled things, dips, fantastically presented cheeses and some of the BEST cured meat I’ve ever had. Max was very knowledgeable about the pairings and waus throu each type of cheese, asking if we would like it stronger or more mild and letting us get the taste for the board he was creating for us! Max made my first experience very pleasurable, and will absolutely be back because of him. (Thanks for letting me take photos:-) )

Very intimate atmosphere with an amazing selection of products. If you’re not in a rush, take your time because I guarantee you that you’ll find something you’ve never seen before.

Say cheese! This place is heaven on Earth. A selection that's out of this world, not to mention the mouthwatering selection of cured meats and pate. Very helpful staff. Cave wait to come back

Be still my beating heart! Probably my favorite shop in all of Massachusetts. A splurge, for sure, but never not worth it. Their meats section is heavenly, and all the olive oil they sell is *real* olive oil, super pungent and deliciously tasty. They sell some pastries too--I always have the olive oil cake. The place is a tight squeeze, so do yourself a favor and do not wear a backpack in here.

Super friendly and knowledgeable staff. Delicious specialty food selection including my favorite sandwich in the city (the chicken salad + cheese). Cookies are also to die for. Just a great place all around.

🎩 This place set the bar for what a Gourmet Food store really is. They offer a wide range of tasty European and American delicacies, plus beer, wine and deli foods for any occasion, celebration and cooking style. For a small space they offer a huge selection along with quality and affordable prices. Overall, it's the complete package that I highly recommend people to try, especially if you love cheese.

Formaggio is the best. I usually go to the Cambridge store. But the South end is actually closer to my home in Milton. They're both equally amazing with cheese you just can't find anywhere else. And when we're not in a pandemic, they let you taste just about everything. Very knowledgeable staff who will Shepherd you to just the right wedge, wheel, or log.

Favorite shop in Boston by far. The ready made food is phenomenal (turkey avocado and chicken salad sandwich are my personal favorites). Wine selection is great staff really know their stuff so ask questions if you have any!

This is foodie HEAVEN if you are passionate about cheese. They have a broad and extremely well-curated selection of cheeses and the staff is so friendly. Haley was able to quickly select some perfect cheeses for my charcuterie board based on my description of what I wanted. The rest of the store also has a variety of tempting items. Even though it's small, Formaggio can be your one-stop shop for the perfect array of party beverages (beer selection is sneaky good!!), appetizers, snacks and desserts. I will be back again and again.

We love this store! The cheese selection is amazingly large. They also have a number of interesting beers. In addition, they do a really cool farm share-like program for cheeses and meats, which has been a great way to try a lot of different cheeses and products that I might not have picked out for myself.

I've been a customer of this fabulous, eclectic, fancy food shop for more than 10 years. I love the patient way they help you make selections cheese board selections. There sandwiches are top notch, too. Their food is never boring and that's what makes exploratory jaunts here so much fun.

You bring a bit of France and for that I love you. Everything I have had here is delicious. The staff is friendly and super helpful. Whenever I go in looking for something, I come out with a perfect, high quality version of exactly what I was looking for.

They offer a great curated selection of wines and craft beers, artisan sweets and great cheese. Everything to make the perfect dinner party or night in. I love that everything seems individually chosen for the store and has a story behind it.

If I had more money, I'd shop here more regularly but also would probably be 400 pounds.

Awesome spot for excellent meats and cheeses for a charcuterie platter. The customer service is great. The few times I've been there the person helping us select our meats and cheeses is always spot on. Sampling all of the cheese and meats is a plus too. They also carry Jeni's ice cream which is to die for. Not cheap...but you definitely get what you pay for. Wish I lived closer so I could go here more often!

Favorite cheese shop in Boston. Eclectic selection of cheeses is what they are known for, but their sandwiches and prepared food is highly underrated. You should come get a ham and cheese croissant sandwich and a chocolate milk!

Best macaroon I've ever had was from here. The variety of cheese, wine and other amazing delicacies packed into this place is staggering. I had their toasted Italian sandwich and it melted in my mouth. This is a must visit when you're in the South End!
