I feel extremely fortunate to have been a yearlong client at the EatWell Center, and after picking up my food, I adore shopping at this thrift store. The staff's welcoming, genuinely uplifting attitude is a treat. It boasts a friendly clientele, with loads of smiles and lots of eye contact, great vibe. It is a clean, very well kept store.
William Lockett has been my dropoff door person on several occasions, and he always has a smile, a laugh, and the time to talk. He uplifts my day, as I am sure he does others' days.
I am blown away by how very welcoming the entire staff of these two Povarello enterprises has been- since day 1 when I cried because I had to register for Ryan White at yet another place, and Miss Audrey brought me an emergency food bag with my favorite things that she couId not have known about. This amount of consistent human kindness ( the guys that bag our food are stellar at respect and hospitality) is worth bragging about and celebrating.
Whoever you are, and however you are feeling, you will be made richly welcome here.

I went in Sunday to kill some time and this store was fabulous. Everything a thrift store should be. The people that work there are so awesome the guy that was working on the register (a bit before close) is so amazing and warm and friendly I just adore him. Thank you for being the best thrift store in Broward county in my opinion

The Palm Aire location of Poverello is GREAT. The people that work there are Super Nice and the place is always clean and well organized. But let me reiterate about how great the staff at this branch of Poverello are: Just Super People.

Prices are affordable and the stock changes enough to make a weekly stop by well worth it.

Firstly, the prices are great, with a new and fresh variety of merchandise a best kept secret. The staff and volunteers are kind, and helpful, cheerful and welcoming to all who shop there. Alan’s easygoing demeanor was very chill.

SPECIAL THANK YOU to SUZZIE for warmth and compassion. Jonah and me go over sometimes just to say Hello. Jonah just loves the treats and extra attention. SUZZIE you’re the Best. You mean a great deal to us. Thank You!!!! 😘

Kindness comes in many forms and gestures. I was having a really bad day missing home and missing various people. I went to Poverello and saw this beautiful merman painting and it immediately brought a smile to my face. I met a man in the shop who had to be feeling the same way that day.. I told him to take the piece as it brought him great joy. I was feeling very happy I had done somewhat a good deed. Low and behold he took the piece and rolled it up and gave it to me to take home. Kindness made a full circle that day. He may not know but he made my day turn around. The small gesture turned into such a huge mark of kindness on me. I framed the piece and even with the small tear, it makes me feel happy inside. Visit Poverello to check them out, who knows it could turn your day around too... Thank you Kind Stranger for the gesture. It has been imprinted onto my heart ❤

I just wanted to recognize your Donation's Door receiving person. He has this certain Ora about and around him every time that I've been here in the past several times. I'm not sure who y'all stole him from. But where ever he came from. They definately had a great loss of his employment. His whole demeanor and attitude. Never in my life have I ever have encountered such a very friendly person in my entire life. This very friendly Black Gentleman named William. I have been extremely lucky to encounter this lovely Man. Mr. William, who receives the Donations from the items being donated. He is such a breathe of fresh air. The last time that I made my donation was about 6 months ago. And everytime
that I leave. I feel like I'm loosing a member of my own personal family! I am determined to make him my friend for life. Thank-you Mr William, you keep that great attitude!

Today was the first time we visited this store. We got there 15 minutes before closing, so we only had a few minutes to look around. As soon as we walked through the door David greeted us with a warm welcome and a big smile. Right away I saw what we were looking for, an old school record player with radio 📻 and CD 💿 player for only $30 practically brand new. We were so happy for this deal because the same player, you'll find on Amazon for $132 the cheapest. When we got home and turn it on we noticed the speakers on it is really powerful. So just shopping for less than 15 minutes I would say it was very successful.

After visiting several local thrift stores I googled to find more obscure ones, decided to visit this one on a whim and boy am I glad I did! This is one of the most well organized thrift stores I've ever been too and yet it still allows for the thrill of the hunt! I was bending down, scouring the bottom shelves and never came across anything that made me question “why would they put this on the shelf” like I’ve experienced in other thrift stores. Better yet? Proceeds go back into the community by helping feed those in need.

David, who was working the register, is a rare gem in Ft. Lauderdale. He was so engaging, pleasant AND you can tell he really cares about the business and the reinvestment back into the community.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS THRIFT STORE!

The guy at the front desk named Berto is what this facility has been missing. Not only his work ethic is impeccable but very informative. He's also extremely gorgeous and cute with a great heart and such a great sense of humor that makes anyone feel welcome. Love his dimples too. The whole team is great but Berto would make your day. (Sorry if I pronounced his name wrong)

One of the best thrift shops in town! They have a wide variety of items, including clothing and household stuff, and do not charge a fortune. The staff, including David, are very friendly and helpful. The fact that they have a food bank helping the needy is South Florida makes the experience all the more meaningful! Highly recommend!!

A cashier named David was VERY helpful today. I was with a homeless man for whom I was buying items. David was patient and assisted both of us during a time of the day that was very busy. Also with the dangerously cold weather approaching, he helped us with warm clothing and a blanket. What a great guy.

I went to the thrift store they have on a Thursday with a friend. It was my first time at this location. It's a wonderful place to go if you like bargains. I picked up 2 pieces of Swiss Gear luggage which was in mint condition for about $22 for both. Checking online brand new would have visited over $200. Place seems to always be busy and the staff have a great time and real friendly with customers. Because my friend was over 55, Thursdays seniors get an extra 33% off. My $100 cart of goodies set me back only $70. Instead of throwing your old clothes and household items away. Donate them here. It's for a good cause.

Poverello is many things to many people, but today I'll focus on the thrift shop. A good size store with a wonderful selection of clothes, furniture & housewares. Friendly helpful staff that are happy to help. If I come here for one thing ,I usually leave with some treasure that I can't live without. The manager is great. He helped me arrange a delivery as well as a pick up of donated items. The truck was on time each time and the driver & helper were also very professional and efficient.
The best thing is that the store helps fund the good works of the food bank as well as all the other wonderful services they provide to the community.
