Bona Italian Restaurant

It was my first time at a Bona Italian restaurant on Saturday night. We arrived at 8 PM, the host asked if we had reservations and we didn't. The restaurant seemed to be full and they offered us to sit in the lounge with a high table. It was ok at the beginning, however, the AC vent supply was right above the table blowing the air strongly. Made us feel colder and the food was cold fast!

We ordered Eggplant Parmigiana, Chicken Marsala and Branzino. We all agreed that the foods were delicious, except Chicken Marsala. The chicken was too tough!

The garlic rolls we expect to receive before our salad appetizer, arrived right before our meal. The server told us they have to make it. As the rolls arrived, they were not warm.

As we sat in the lounge the atmosphere felt wrong for a sit in dinner evening. There were a few patrons as we arrived, however it was empty very soon. There were none came to the lounge to drink. If I were the manager, I would turn the lounge with regular height dining table and have a server dedicated to it.

It looks like they have live music in the lounge on Thu night, not sure what kind of music they have. It sounds like something I need to see and experience how good they are.

As we walked out, the dining room was busy, they seemed like a popular place.

My boyfriend and I came here for the first time today and will definitely be returning! Mark, the owner, explained their plant based options to us. We had the vegan calamari, bruschetta, pizza and pasta with some vegetables and it was all amazing! The staff is super nice too! On Mondays the restaurant donates to a non profit!
March 2024 update : second time here and love everything about this place!! Can't wait to return!

The owner of this restaurant knows what great service means. It was later on Saturday night and we did not have reservations, which was bad on our part (read between the lines: call for reservations!) We had had such a rough day, and were exhausted with kiddos - all we were craving was good Italian food. We were able to enjoy some cocktails while we waited and this man went out of his way to make a space for us. The food was exceptional, and both the owner and the waitress were so kind, it was amazing. This will be one place we will return to when we visit as it is one classy place, for a variety of reasons. If you get the chance to dine here, do not hesitate. You will be so glad you did!

Our waiter was Rocco, he was super attentive... we had the veggie pizza with vegan mozzarella and I have to say it is the first time that a pizza doesn't feel like street food at all, on the contrary it felt like a high class signature dish in the shape of a pie. We also had the tiramisu and it was the literal cherry on top.

We were 7 people and had a great time. The service was outstanding and the place was clean and bright and well organized. We also liked the new addition for the street seating area.
My Chicken francaise had a very soupy sauce and I asked the waiter to drain it, cause it was very watery and not as expected. Thats why the 4 * for the food.
Regardless, we will be back.

This place is lovely. The food is delicious, service is great, and the owners are so kind. Thank you Glen! I got chicken Parmigiano and my husband got the ravioli. We shared tiramisu.

If I could give this restaurant six out of five stars I certainly would! Cozy and stylish yet unpretentious atmosphere, excellent, friendly, professional, smiling staff. Super delicious and tasty food!! On the night I was there this restaurant nailed the holy three factors for being an amazing restaurant, namely atmosphere service and food quality. You’d be forgiven thinking that I had an incentive or a bias towards this restaurant. I do not. We were served by Joshua and seated by Clint. They, along with the atmosphere, food ( & very reasonable prices) simply delivered an outstanding experience. Well done Bona Italian, Well done.

This was my First time eating at Bona Italian Restaurant and if I was able to give 10 Stars, I would. I ate there Saturday evening and every single Staff Member was extremely friendly. A friend and I showed up around 5:30 pm without reservations but, the Gentleman at the Front was extremely kind and gave us a table in the far back. We were greeted with smiles and kindness. Once seated, our Excellent waiter offered drinks and water. One thing I thought was very cool was the fact that they use "Pasta as Straws." I thought that that was so cool and different. We were brought Garlic Knots, which were out of this world 🌎. If I wasn't on a date, I would have had 2 but, I needed to behave. I ordered Chicken Marsala and my friend ordered pasta with meatballs. As we were waiting for our food, the owners came around several times to ask if we needed anything, if everything was to our liking and etc. Our waiter was great, the Food was Fantastic and I just loved and enjoyed the atmosphere. They make you feel comfortable, inviting and very friendly.
If you are in Wilton Manor, Ft. Lauderdale or, just looking for Great Italian Food, Bona Italian Restaurant is the place to go.
I suggest reservations!!!!! Thanks to a wonderful, inviting, friendly Staff and Food, I had a great evening. Don't miss out on this Italian Restaurant. Food is excellent, prices are good and well worth it.

First time there on 07/30/22 and won't be the last. This place is beyond welcoming. It's warm and cozy, has super positive vibes running through the whole place. The food and drinks are on a whole new level. The waitstaff are professional and kind. Never had to ask for a refill on water. From the risotto balls to the braised short rib special to the cheese cake and ice cream. Everything was firing on all cylinders of flavor. The Italian Sunset Martini was by far one of my favorite drinks and pairs nicely with the food. I cannot wait till the next time I go. If you are looking for some excellent Italian food, this place has it.

I was visiting from the west coast and happened to come across this place on google. I am so glad that I stumbled upon this restaurant. Everything was so amazing. The food was awesome and it was so nice to see many gluten free options on the menu. My martini was fabulous. Our server and host were so polite and made us feel so welcome. We will definitely stop by again when we are in the area next time. It was one of the most pleasant dining experiences I have had in awhile.

What a great night with friends and the food, service, and atmosphere was amazing too.
I would recommend it to others for sure.

D.E.L.I.C.I.O.U.S! I ordered their Minestrone soup and their scallops dinner. sooooo good! The soup is made in-house and it is one of the best minestrone soups I have ever had anywhere! The scallops were also cooked to perfection! I am looking forward to eating here again!

Such a wonderful experience. Great food. Loved the garlic pesto rolls (see pic). Friendly staff. Matthew was a great waiter. Only restaurant that has provided a baggy for your mask to keep it clean while dining. Nice background music too while dining.
Bonus point... it was pouring that night, I ran to the car to pickup my date at the restaurant, they (Bona staff) walked her out with an umbrella.
Only negative (due to pouring)... the public parking they recommended was flooded. Add extra time to find parking before your reservation.
Will I return... Most definitely!!!

I had heard that the Bona Italian restaurant was somewhat dated but what I encountered was something fresh even if the guys dining there were not so (Boomers). This is definitely a more upscale offering which to me translates into someone is going to take me there as his date. Oh and the bread, you could scarf down those garlic rolls like candy until you started counting the calories. The meal came with a nice salad. My pasta dish had a touch of lemon which delighted my taste buds. The servers are very pleasant and it was just a really nice meal. It helped that my date paid for it.

This is my favorite Italian place to eat in all of Fort Lauderdale!
I ordered a half salt Margarita and our wonderful server Ilde (sp?) brought us out Garlic Knots, absolutely delicious!
We started out with the Bruschetta and a cup of soup and salad. We ordered Lobster Ravioli with zoodles and Chicken Cyriac with angel hair pasta instead of penne (where has this been all my life?) I've eaten here several times and all the food is amazing! I've never had any desserts because I'm too full by the time we leave. They look very good and next time I will get one to go, maybe that Chocolate Mousse. It looks very light would be a good choice. The staff are always very kind and treat you very well!! 5 stars are not enough!

Seen this place for years and thought it would be another typical Wilton restaurant with poor and bland food… I was shocked. The lasagna was the best I’ve had in years…..the service was the best I’ve seen in Wilton!!!!!!!

We made reservations for 5pm and were seated at 5pm by a very welcoming gentleman at the reception. Our wait person, Mathew was very polite, and efficient, with the nicest personality. The food was just delicious, just the right size portion with great flavor. The restaurant overall, left nothing to be desired. If you visiting the Fort Lauderdale area, try this Italian eatery, you won't be disappointed.

O. M. G it was amazing!!! Great food, service was excellent portions were huge!!! We got the mozzarella sticks, I ordered the lasagna, my husband ordered the fettuccini Alfredo (I wanted to swim in this it was so good!!) and his brother ordered baked ziti. Plus we had a serving of tiramisu for dessert. All of it was really good!!

Great staff... excellent service and great food. New England Clam Chowder was excellent as was the main course. I had the Chicken Cyriac with angel hair pasta.

My friends wanted to take me out to celebrate my birthday, and this was one of the best experiences I’ve had at a restaurant in a very long time. The food was excellent and the service was five star!
