Ethel M. Gordon Oakland Park Library

Hope! Oakland Park is a poorly educated, high crime, very low income city adjacent to Fort Lauderdale. This makes the Ethel M. Gordon library all the more important in improving literacy and bringing hope to this blighted city. The library is decently sized and serves as a community focal point dedicated to improving literacy. I applaud the efforts and those willing to travel to the area and volunteer.

Out of town visitor. Took my 7 year old and Ms Maria was kind enough to gift him a book since we didn’t have a library card!

Oakland Park Library has no had a children's librarian in a while. Maria's warm and caring nature is a great choice for them. We met her last week and the children are already willing to come back. We're really excited because we're already seeing changes.

Great place for kids, good book selection and it has a playground in the back!

The Librarians, Staff, Volunteers and patrons raise up all who connect in person or by phone to this Treasury, Free Nation, Hospital, Institution of Higher Learning, Kids space, Incubator, Community Hub, water fountain and LIBRARY. I heard talk by city planners in 2019 that the library is only important to a bunch of older women. Wow. That would make it the safest, smartest, most welcoming place one could hope to be. Very cool place. Thank you.

Great staff. This is a small library, so they don’t always have what we are looking for. However, they always can order and get what we want. They go out of their way to get the books we want. They also have a good selection of DVDS, not just older stuff, but brand new movies.

I personally love this library. It's peaceful and has a good selection. My kids enjoy the children section and the touch screen computers that they have. The games on it are perfect for my 3 year olds. They love the reading area and the ladies are very helpful and friendly.

This is my favorite library, it's quiet and the people are friendly and want you to read.

Very happy to have this library near my new home! There's fast wi-fi (no password/login required), the book selection is sufficient (I came in looking for vegan/vegetarian books and travel books), and the librarians were very friendly and helpful. This is a great place to get some studying/reading done with plenty of desks and access to outlets.
Note: it's not part of the Broward County library system so the books must be returned to this location only. You also need a separate library card for this library and they'll need a bill (paper or digital) along with your ID to give you a library card.

Very friendly employees that go to the extreme to help guests and make their visit as pleasant as possible.

Great neighborhood library for quick visits and computer time. They have a wonderful selection of magazines to read and offer the daily, weekly and world news in a variety of newspapers.

My children and I love this library! The staff is kind, everything stays nice and neat, and the neighborhood is peaceful!

Well I can only tell you that I've had to do a video interview for job and my home was too loud so I went there and the ladies were so helpful allowing me to use the private conference room not once but twice !
I'm so greatful to have them in our community and keep up the fantastic work !!

Not only the people are nice the bathrooms are clean and seemed to be kept that way...i used to go to the one on the Galt Ocean Mile but not anymore.....i totally tell you to go to this one if you live in Oakland Park....two thumbs way up and five star out of five....

I have needed and used their services recently and have been delighted with the people who work there, they are all kind, kmowledable and helpful when ever I had any questions.

Love it! People are always helpful...they have good dvds and cds...my 2 year old also loves the children's area. ;)

Wifi is always great here. This library helped me on my path to wealth. No i work at home.
