Roper's Clothing

Store has a rustic feel to it. When entering you are greeted by a lovely woman and her dog (she is the owner) she is an absolute doll. The other lady was super nice and both had great knowledge of boots. This store had a wide variety of items from boots, purses, belts & buckles, clothing among other wonderful item's. We were visiting from Florida for our Anniversary and I left with 2 pairs of boots for myself and a hat for my husband. This store is definitely a great little shop that I would highly recommend and would return during future vacations.

I came in here looking for a belt since I left mine at home after traveling 4 hours for a wedding. I came in and found more than just a belt! A couple of my vest buttons were cheaply put on the vest and they fell off. Mrs. Roper without hesitation started looking for a sewing needle and thread so she could take her own precious time to help a stranger with a wardrobe malfunction. While she repaired the vest buttons, we sat and talked and they’re honestly the friendliest people I’ve ever met working in here. 10/10 would recommend stopping by!

My son, husband, and I spent 3 days in Helen to go tubing, (which I highly recommend) on July 2nd, 3rd & 4th. 2023. Had I not needed to stop by the Dollar General, which was a short walk from our hotel, I would never have spotted this store otherwise and would never had the opportunity to meet such an amazing lady such as Mrs. Roper. Who has owned this place for 45 years! She was sitting on the little couch just as you walk in the door to the right with her little dog eating peanuts. I was very hot and out of breath sweating profusely and she invited me to sit on the opposite couch and take a rest. From that moment, I experienced 2 of the best hours I have had since my mother passed back in 2018. The more we talked, the more I enjoyed this ladies wisdom, sense of humor, and simply all around southern hospitality! My son and his daddy ended up having to more or less "drag me out of there" because I honestly could have stayed for hours just to enjoy Mrs. Roper's company. I offered to take her little sweet doggie out to do her business and she let me while she spent time with my husband and little boy. I ended up buying my boy a pair of cowboy boots, which he LOVES! They'll be perfect this fall for school. But as we watched other customers come and go, Mrs. Roper would grab her walker, head straight for them, and do what she done best.... make you feel right at home just like a grandmother would.
I share this long review today because Mrs. Roper is one of the very very few left of a generation that we as Americans will never experience again. To walk in a store of any kind these days you're lucky to meet someone as special as Mrs. Roper. So if you and your family have the time and are visiting Helen, please stop by Roper's Western in Helen. If nothing more than to say hello.

I bought my 4 year old grandson a pair of cowboy boots here. He loves them wears them everyday. The staff was absolutely helpful and friendly. A little over priced ! But what do you expect from helen Georgia.

I had been looking to purchase a ranger belt for quite some time. I had checked at numerous stores with no luck. Most of the places could order one for me but no one had one in stock. I was in the Helen area due to work and came across Ropers. I decided to go inside just to see if I could get lucky. Not only did they have exactly what I was looking for but I met two of the nicest ladies ever. It was the owner and another lady employed there. I could not have asked for a better experience. I will make it a point whenever I’m in the area to stop in if for nothing else but to say hello.

Fantastic prices.. The owner Mrs. Roper works there with a friendly staff. He little baby (she calls little mouth) greets you at the door and if you have time sit and listen to her wonderful stories she is absolutely the sweetest.. By the time we left her store we felt like family 💕

Mindy and I were introduced to Roper's clothing by Roger Campbell yesterday and we spent almost $300. We love the place.

Stopped here to see if they had flip flops and they did! Great selection of western apparel as well and the customer service was outstanding. Would highly recommend a visit!

My husband and I went to Helen for a mini vacation about a month ago. While we were there, an unexpected job opportunity came up for him and he needed a dress shirt for a video interview. The ladies working here (I believe one was the owner) were so helpful and friendly. I don't know if they read their reviews, but if they do and you remember helping us, I just wanted to let you know that he got the job, which was a big step up from his last position, and it's a fully remote position so we are able to travel freely now.. We are so excited and so thankful that y'all had a dress shirt and found him the perfect size on the first try! Thank you so much, from the bottom of our hearts!

Simply the best. Mrs. Roper was just so nice and took time to help me pick out the right hat. Very personable. Very friendly, super nice. If you need anything western, or work related, this is the place to shop. Without a doubt, will be back again.
