Enjoyed a lovely evening dining at the bar on a Thursday evening. The entire staff was extremely pleasant. My girl friend and I enjoyed a few appetizers. Lollipop lamb chops were tender & well-seasoned over some type of flavorful mixed veggie sautée. I ordered the eggplant lasagna and my friend had the stuffed quinoa pepper. For dessert, the crème brûlée trio. Brittney made one of the best espresso martinis I’ve had. Great visit here. Definitely recommend.

Loved this place! Will definitely be back again. We were originally going for Italian but the wait times were really long and we were fortunate to give Rootstock a try. We were so glad we did! We took a spot near the live music and the band was poppin'! Great job Way Back Band! There are lots of another dining room to sit in, including an outdoor area, if live music isn't your thing. Our ssrver, Cory, was incredible! He treated us so well and gave us fantastic recommendations. He said he'd only been there a short while but I would have never known because he was an expert on the menu. Probably one of the best experiences we've ever had being waited on at a restaurant. And the food.... My goodness the food was incredible! Cory recommended we try multiple small plates as they started as a tapas restaurant, and so we had lamp lollipops, bacon shrimp, smoked salmon and hummus, and gnocchi carbonara. For dessert we had cheesecake and creme brulee. Everything was so incredible - hats off to the chef! My personal was either the lamp lollipops or the gnocchi. Both were so delicious I'd come back just for those. All in all, we couldn't have been happier to have found this spot because it was literally just what we needed to take a load off and relax a bit. Highly recommend!

Very friendly staff and delicious food. Our server David made excellent recommendations and was just great. The Rum Old Fashion was the best Old Fashion I’ve ever had. Nice vibe on the lower level. Will have to come back to check out the rooftop dining experience.

This was my first visit as well as those with me. We opted to try just share plates. They were all wonderful!
Bacon Shrimp was recommended and did not disappoint. (Not pictured.)
For the Share Dip we opted for Ricotta, Smoked Eggplant and Salmon Hummus. My favorite was experimenting with my own combination of these.
Roasted Octopus was presented beautifully. My daughter and I preferred the accompaniments to the octopus itself but our other companion loved the main feature.
The tomato basil soup was enjoyed as well.
I think everyone's favorite was the lamb lollipops though. Beautiful balance of flavor over a dark sauce and cassoulet. I couldn't get enough.
And our server, Corey, was a great compliment to our experience. He was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable.
Will definitely go back to try entrees and desserts. Hopefully overlooking the town as we did this time, out on the balcony. Awesome place!!

Went out tonight for date night and had amazing service by our waiter David Kay. The food was great and they were even able to make the infamous Last Word cocktail. Very hard to find around here. We will definitely be coming back and requesting David as our server. 5 stars.

Great experience, great atmosphere and best service in Woodstock. We went for our Anniversary and were treated like royalty. Our service was the best we have had. Comparable to service in a NYC restaurant. The upstairs seating was so nice. Pretty view. The food was great and we tried quite a few things on the menu. Rootstock is going to be our "Go to" from now on.

We came here Saturday night. All of the staff greeted us kindly and made us feel special. We ate on the rooftop outside, and the atmosphere was amazing. A couple of guys were playing music in the corner, and it sounded great. Our server Dave was excellent, very nice, and on point on everything. The food was so delicious!!! We ordered the lamp lollipops and the scallops with broccolini. They gave us a free appetizer of pimento cheese, crackers, and veges b/c it was the restaurant's anniversary. ALL OF THE FOOD WAS PERFECT!!!! we will definitely be coming back again for another date night.

Let me tell you a little bub about Bella, this woman is probably the best waitress in the entire city of Woodstock. She made our entire experience feel like a million bucks. If you were ever in the downtown Woodstock area and you were hungry and looking for a little atmosphere on the weekends, get your butt over to rootstock, where Bella conserve you like royalty!

Interesting menu and has some not known meats like elk, which was very tasty. Packed with depths of flavor and cooked perfectly. Worth the price! The eggplant lasagna was just ok. Too much cheese and not enough eggplant or pasta. I could barely find it. The sauce was overpowered by cheese. I probably wouldn't order that again. However, the other star of the night was the salmon hummus. I still think about it since I've had it. I'll probably stop in just to have that. Overall, pretty great place and food.

My wife and I went to dinner here last Friday night 3/22/24. We were not expecting anything but wow, this is now our favorite restaurant. We were seated upstairs where a musician was going to play and were greeted by our waitress Bella. She was incredible. Not only was she pleasant but her knowledge and description of the food was 2nd to none! I started with a bourbon and my wife had a Georgia Peach Mule. If you like bourbon, you have hundreds to choose from! We were a little undecided about our main meal and Bella recommended the Barrumundi for my wife and Bistro steak for me. We both cleaned our plates! I saw that creme brûlée was a dessert and it did not disappoint with the 3 flavors. We met David at the front entrance and wanted him to know how great Bella was, he smiled and told us more about this restaurant. Bottom line is don’t miss out on trying a meal Rootstock!!!

Had an absolutely fabulous night (1/27/2024). We had a birthday party at the house at Thanksgiving for my wife’s 70th and had Trey Odum entertain us. When we saw he was performing at Rootstock it was the perfect occasion to visit. We are bar people (as opposed to table sitters) and the elegantly lighted bar did not disappoint. Started with a nicely chilled draft while enjoying the music. I was ready for a refill and our professional and attentive bartender (pictured) already had one waiting for me. As we were not there necessarily to eat, we saw a waiter pass by with an amazing looking plate. On his return trip back by, we asked about it. It was a ‘Share Dip’ and he took the time to explain it. It was an amazing charcuterie board. For a night cap, I perused their bourbon offering and was not disappointed. Always nice to find and try something that I have not had access to at home. Would highly recommend Rootstock to all - great night out!

FOOD WAS AMAZING! The venison and scallops were so good! Also tried the lamb and bacon wrapped shrimp ! Omg! David was awesome and very knowledgeable! Sold is on everything! Drinks were great as well! Definitely will make the hour and a half drive back again!

David K was training Madison. They were both brilliant! David really noticed that we liked good wine and good food and was able to make some excellent recommendations. The service was impeccable and they took the time and effort to make things extra special. That is what will make me come back. Well, that and the amazing food! David, tge Manger also spent some time talking with us. My friends and I had a great time. Can't wait to come back

I've been to this restaurant twice now, and both times I experienced absolutely excellent food, fantastic service, and a relaxed but classy atmosphere. During my most recent visit for a friend's birthday celebration, our server was Bella and she made sure we had everything that we needed. Our glasses were always filled, we laughed all though the meal, and she had very insightful suggestions when it came to the menu and delicious wine. Thank you to the Rootstock team for making my visits such memorable experiences!

We just moved to downtown Woodstock a few months ago and have already been to Rootstock several times -- each time was amazing!! We entertained friends during the holidays and had an absolutely INCREDIBLE meal. Everything was delicious. Dave, our server, was phenomenal! We have also been to two monthly wine tastings upstairs and ordered some appetizers. The tuna, muscles, and shrimp were FANTASTIC!! The service, impeccable, once again. We look forward to many more great nights here!

Bella was our server and her service/personality was superb. Food was excellent, I had the chicken and waffles with a cup of soup that left me delighted. Definitely will be back whenever I’m back in Woodstock. Thank You Rootstock!

Stopped in for Sunday brunch with my beloved pal en route from ATL to near Blue Ridge. Delicious omelets and salad accompanied by creative libations. And the dessert was out of this world. The staff seemed genuinely happy to have us there—plenty of smiles and charm. By far the most outstanding service I received in ages came from our bright and great-hearted waitperson Bella. Her descriptions of menu items made us want to order everything. She was attentive without being intrusive… and personified the whole Rootstock experience: authentic, charming, guest focused, and memorable.

This was our first time eating here and we will definitely be back again and again!! From the host welcoming us in and seating us at a cozy table, to our amazing server Bella, who answered all our foodie questions and helped guide us to some great beverages. Bella has a charming personality and was upbeat and delightful. Atmosphere was inviting and the food was incredible!
