Very cool trail. I took my lunch to walk this trail one day and the bridge was super pretty along the way. I recommend if you want to get out and stretch your legs.

Wow! What a nice walkable trail intermingled with challenging mountain bike trails & rock gardens. Beautiful scenery.

It's a very beautiful trail. It is a paved trail, so it's easy to walk. There are beautiful views of the Tar River along the trail. The bridge is really neat as well. If using Google or Apple maps, you will get the wrong location for the entrance to the park. You will actually need to park down below where your GPS tries to bring you in. Apparently there was an access at one point, but it is gated now.

Great trail for walking, city has done a wonderful job. As a rockt mount native, makes me proud.! What a shame people are so ignorant and uncaring they choose to litter such a beautiful landscape

Gorgeous fall day for a walk. We went to the boat access at Battle Park and back. Colors weren't too bad either. They resurfaced the trail a while back smooth as silk now.

A nice sturdy wooden footbridge. A nice feel as you jog across or ride your bike/scooter. Ample room because it is wide. Seems very well made. I appreciate being able to see the laminated layers of wood used in the structural design.
The view? It's a nice unobstructed view of the river, but my favorite views are at low tide when the turtles(?) come out along the shore on fallen tree limbs to bask in the sun 😊. I always stop my bikeride to look for them. (oh, and at the time of this writing it is mating season. I'm just sayin'. Just in case... you know, you're curious. 😁)
There is a marker on the bridge indicating the high water mark of a past great flood. Scary high!

My girlfriend and I stopped in while waiting to be able to check in to our Air BnB. We did not walk the whole trail, but we had fun on the bridge and the railroad track. Be sure to check for trains!

This trail is awesome. It's well cleared and stretches across the entire city. Many attractions along the trail to enjoy and educate yourself on. Very family friendly trail. This is a must if you're new to the area or just visiting. If you enjoy fishing like myself, ohhhh man... Just come on and meet me there... 😁😁

This is a great place to walk or run. Newly paved path so very handicap accessible. The views are great as you travel along the river/creek.

Wonderful path, the pavement could use improvement in certain sections (lots of roots/cracks making things like strollers and rollerblades have difficulty) but it is definitely still doable. It is perfect for walking and biking.

Restrooms and water works at the MLK park. Ample parking at multiple places along the trail. There's lots of natural views. The trail is a little rough with root cracks, my granddaughter in a jogging stroller didn't mind. I parked at City lake Park and ran to MLK park and back. Crossing sunset avenue was a pain that could be made better with a boardwalk under the bridge.
