Dining Around Cafe & Catering

One of my favorite spots in Durant to eat. The daily comfort food specials are always delicious and I love the unique items they throw into the mix! They keep it interesting always. From the hot meals, salads, or sandwiches there is something for everyone. Their desserts are incredibly yummy and they have the worlds best sugar cookie actually all the cookies are incredible. With a friendly staff and a comfortable lunch environment you cannot go wrong. They have take home freezer meals that are excellent for a handy dinner as well!

Great place to eat. Absolutely 💚 💯 the loaded baked potatoes 🥔 😋 👌🏽 🙌🏽 hands down on those. They were excellent!

I ate here for lunch today for the time and it was so good. I got the sandwich sampler with 4 different sandwiches that were all great. Plus the jalapeño macaroni was to die for! Highly recommend this local restaurant.

My sister and I drove from Oklahoma City to Durant specifically to go to Dining Around and get some freezer meals to take home. We loaded up and ate lunch while we were there. The chicken salad is fantastic! When I got home I fixed the pork chop, loaded mashed potatoes and creamy dreamy corn dinner. It was delicious!! I had a brownie for dessert, which is out of this world!! All of their food is freshly made. The chefs are the best in town!!

I've been in Durant for 3 years and have seen this place every time I go to Pruetts but today 7/14/22 was the first time I've had time to actually order something from them. Oh my goodness! What a hidden gem! I had the Chicken Cakes, Hashbrown Casserole and Watermelon Salad. It was all exceptional. To those who have mentioned the prices, they are a little more than McDonald's or Burger King but the food is exceptional, much better than fast food and the portions are large, I saved half my lunch for my dinner tonight or my lunch tomorrow. This menu is next level and I'm glad to know we have such a wonderful place in Durant that serves quality and delicious food!

I was pleasantly surprised to find a fresh, high quality salad with very good dressings to choose from. Very good chicken Waldorf sandwich. Creative dessert choices like dipping cake sticks. Baked potato bar looked good - only on Fridays - every day they have a differenterrible choice.

I have dined in cafe and used the catering service for years. The food is always excellent. Prepared with care and using premium ingredients. Everything about Dining Around is wonderful. Highly recommended!

I'll try my best here to write a helpful review, after reading so many that are short and seem misleading - they don't give a good idea of the food or service or ambience, and that's what I look for before I step out. That's what I'm reading reviews for!
So - right from the gate, let's address the service, because the food is stellar, and I've read here that people have found the staff unfriendly or less than glowing.
And they aren't entertaining.
Which is great!
The staff are not overbearing and they are also not overly solicitous - they are professional and considerate. They don't interfere with their customers, and I think that makes for a pleasant atmosphere - you don't have to trade compliments with your waitress, you can converse with your friends instead. The staff stays out of your way, and you get to enjoy a really tasty meal.
The prices for a single can range from very thrifty to splurge, but are not ever in the omg range.
The portions are very generous, and the actual cuisine is one heck of an inventive twist, even on the classics.
If you think salad is boring, it's about time to Dine Around.
My mother and I loved trying their frozen fare yesterday - we selected the Homemade Lasagna, the Swedish Meatballs with Cabbage Noodles, and the Brussels Sprouts with Bacon.
Don't forget to grab the cooking instructions! I did, but was reminded by the cashier who considerately included a copy in my bag at check-out (let's dispel those rumors of unfriendly staff once and for all - without those instructions: I would have been up the creek.)
The lasagna included meatballs in the layers, the creamiest mixture of cheeses we've ever had in a restaurant lasagna, and a fantastic herbed sauce.
The Swedish meatballs with Cabbage noodles were a definite surprise winner - the combination was excellent, the sauce was unlike any I've ever had with Swedish meatballs and complemented the cabbage so well that it pretty much melted in my mouth.
The brussels sprouts with bacon were more like a dessert - they were tender and sweet!
Perfect dinner for two, actually four, because we have some left over in the fridge for another meal.
The freezer section is about five to ten dollars an entree with very reasonable sides starting at two dollars, from what I saw.

5 of 5, I recommend. My mother was very pleased - and she is NOT easily satisfied.

Unique place that has the highest quality food in Durant, but only two or so primary menu options a day. It’s a creative way to run a restaurant!

Food was great if your a millionaire! Way to over priced!

Friendly service, rotating specials, and an assortment of sandwiches and ready to heat meals on the go. Definitely get a baked potato if you go on Friday!

I have never had a bad meal there. And I have been there plenty of times. I like the twists they put on old favorites, like brisket salad sandwiches or pulled pork shepard's pie.

Just left from here and let me tell you that was the best food and service that I have seen in a long time....will definitely be coming back

Best Cafe around, love the fruity chicken, jalepeno pasta salad, homemade pimento, oh heck love it all and the owners are the best!!

I love their baked potatoes that they have on Fridays! I havent tried much of their other food but I'm sure it is great as well!

Food was a hit all around! Catered my son's baptism and will most likely cater our wedding in the future!

Love their salads and their pies. A must, especially if you’re short on time and don’t have time to prepare lunch or dinner.
