Salter Path Beach Access

Our family loves this beach access we drive past several others just to go to this one.

I love this place. Bathrooms, place to rinse your feet. Smooth boardwalk from the tree-lined parking lot down to the dunes. Absolutely stunning view and beautiful location almost in the middle of emerald and Atlantic. Almost always stop here even if it’s just to take in a quick peek of sun and water from here on my way to another spot. 10/10 recommend for a spot to have a beach day.

Beautiful beach access point. A little bit of a hike from where you park, so make sure you have wheels on your ice chest. But the beach itself was beautiful. Very little wind compared to other beaches. Kid friendly with shallower water and less of a current.

Beautiful beach! Relatively uncrowded considering it was memorial day weekend. Really nice access point with bathrooms and outdoor showers. Get there early!!! Parking filled up quick! Free parking!

This beach access is a wonderful spot. There are several picnic tables available, so, even if you are not going to the beach, it is a nice place to stop by. There is a grove of Live Oak here that are gorgeous. Again – even if you are not going to the beach it is worth it to stop and see the trees. There is plenty of parking here and the services are kept up. The place is kept neat and clean. There are bathrooms here as well.

I enjoy the outdoor showers as we can get showered off and clean off our equipment after coming in from the ocean before getting back into the car.

The walk to the ocean is a dream across a well built and properly maintained wooden walkway. It cuts directly through myrtle and yaupon stands so you can see inside that incredibly interesting biome. It is a unique and wonderful experience for birdwatchers and artists. The walkway continues to rise above the dunes and the view of how a barrier looks in pristine state is received. Wonderful!

The walkway continues down to the beach. There are stairs that lead down to the shore. Though it is difficult getting a wheelchair down there is a small deck at the top where, with umbrellas or other means, the view and breezes could be enjoyed.

The beach itself is a great place to visit. The waters are clear. There is no lifeguard here so all caution should be taken. Riptides and occasional sharks occur here. At high tide the two 'shelves' that are close in will be obscured, so be careful.

During turtle breeding season there may be nests near this location. I love to observe them even if I am not there during hatching. Shorebirds sometimes abound and porpoises, dolphins and even whales may be seen!

We were looking for easy access to the beach and found this. Handicapped access ends at the dune line but provides a beautiful view with seating. The Live Oaks in the parking lot are a wonder in themselves. Native, natural vegetation is stil in its pristine state from the parking lot to the beach. No lifeguard here so be careful! Great place for a picnic. Outdoor showers, indoor restrooms. Great place!

Excellent parking lot with bathrooms, pinic tables, showers, and plenty of shade. There is a ramp and then some stairs to the beach. Very quiet area.

This isn't a Beach access, however you can rent the condos BY going on-line through the local real estate agents... "Pine Knolls Shore" complex... Pine Knolls Shores, North Carolina... please don't litter ON OUR beaches!

Love the beach and it brought back a lot of memories

Off season there was plenty of parking and an easy walk to an empty beach. We were the only ones in the whole lot.

💚 - only problem Ive encountered at this beautiful park is to make sure your mindful to the time, the local Indian beach police will harass you if your in the park after dusk.

One of my favorite places to go check out the beach. Public restrooms, grills, picnic tables & showers.

This is a great beach access. Tons of parking and a nice walk to the beach.
