Sunnyvale County Park

The main attraction here is the beach, swimming, and kayak launch, but there is also a lot of space for sports, activities, picnics, barbecues and short hikes.

The park was quiet when I visited this time but I have been here in the past and it can be bustling, especially during the summer. It has that public beach vibe that I enjoyed growing up

Beautiful area. I took my boys fishing on a Thursday and wasn't busy. The swimming area looked nice but we didn't swim.

Great place to go swimming or just have a picnic, with facilities on site if you need to change clothes and plenty of parking as well as a area near by for people with R/C stuff, of which I didn't get to check out but would be neat to see if I get there again. This place would be a nice place to fish as well as I seen a few people fishing along the banks too.

A nice, open park in a beautiful area. There's a beach here for swimming in the lake, lots of parking, a few shelters by both parking areas, picnic tables, a changing room/restroom, a trail system, a radio controlled aircraft field, and a baseball diamond.

Swimming across the lake was always a big deal when we were kids, and there are some pretty unique views for those that do.

The trails here are very well done and the smell from the flowers is heavenly, but the insects are atrocious, so bring repellent (and maybe a fly swatter, lol).

There is a pretty large open area near the entrance that seems like it would be a good spot for something. Disc golf, a playground, miniature golf, shelters, restrooms, a concession stand. It seems like something else could/should go here, but I don't know if there are any plans to add anything else to it.

There are several Pokestops here, and at least one gym.

Love flying my RC aircraft here. There is a full drone racing course that is used Tuesday evenings and most weekends. Today the 55th annual Funfly for the Wausau RC Sportsmen took place and it had a decent turnout. They also have a new pilot training program for fixed wing that operated Monday evenings during the summer time.

Beautiful, well maintained, and full of nature. Nice bathrooms, plenty of large covered picnic areas, a beautiful lake, trails with access to big rib river, and a beach volleyball setup.

It's a great place to swim, cook out, hike, walk, biking and for dogs!! Just one problem. Not easy walking using a walker on the grass. And to get to the water, it's all down hill. Not easy for handicapped to get in the water for a little exercise and fun. I even got dumped off my walker, but had handsome men come help me get off the ground!! I'm still laughing. 🤣

Beautiful park, spacious, well maintained, nice pond and beach for swimming.
Bathrooms are pit toilets and no sinks or showers.

Great place that unfortunately people ruin. If your the girl who left all the trash along the trail but had the audacity to expect help finding your glasses...just know karma got ya🤣you won't find em now

Best swimming hole in Wausau.

This is a fun little park to check out if you're in the area.

If you go east of the parking lot theres beautiful trails with a river. They really need to mark trails

Nice park was ann excellent place in Wausau to go view the lunar eclipse. Small lake and beach are nice.

Had a great time snowshoeing around the lake. The same path is used for hiking and biking in summer. Nice beach. Great park.
