I have worked with the practitioners and staff at MMA both professionally and as a patient over the years. They are kind, compassionate and dedicated medical professionals and valuable members of our community.

Dr. Rothe is an exceptional physician. She is very thorough and professional. She takes the time to explain things in detail and understanding. I feel very blessed to have her as my physician. She's one of a kind!
Her staff is outstanding also. Always polite and willing to help me out when ever I call or send an email. Cudo's to all of the staff at Mountain Medical Arts!

My family and I have been patients of MMA (specifically Quinn) for over 2 years, and I have nothing but good things to say about her and the practice. I was experiencing significant chronic joint pain, loss of energy, and was just feeling chronically horrible. I was taking Advil constantly just to get through the day. After some testing which suggested early autoimmune patterns and a family history of disease, Quinn recommended changing my diet and taking supplements to treat chronic inflammation. I have been the supplements for about 3 months now, made some major changes to my diet, and I have to say my symptoms are completely gone. NO more pain. Other doctors had not had any answers or suggestions for me, but with Quinn's assistance, my life is greatly improved. I highly recommend Quinn and MMA. I can't comment about the experience of the other reviewers-but we are grateful for Quinn and wouldn't go anywhere else. The staff are awesome too.

I went to see Melinda Quinn Achard and was completely let down and question her abilities as a physician and her medical knowledge. I was having a great deal of pain in my lower back and she did advise me that my tailbone was not in the right location, that my spine had a curvature and that based on a metabolic panel that I was basically malnourished. I work construction and explained to her what my job entails daily and that the pain becomes unbearable in my lower back at times, she began to discuss my nutrition, and that dehydration and lack of proper nutrients were the biggest part of the issue with my spine as well as recommending some extremely expensive supplements that did absolutely nothing for my spinal issues. I asked her what I should do about my spinal problems and she said hydrate, eat propely, take the supplements and get into a chiropractor. When I told her I had concern over being able to afford the chiropractor she did state it would be expensive and if i couldn't go to one just stick to the nutritional plan and supplement and change professions. She never scheduled a follow up to let me know what the next step was or to let me know my metabolic panel results were. A couple of weeks later a nurse called and rattled off all my results with very little explanation as to what they meant. I wanted to make an appointment with actual physician that holds an MD in their office and asked a nurse if that would be possible and was told that would not be a problem. Before I could make this appointment, I was injured at work and had to be seen at an ER. I sepreated my shoulder in the joint between the shoulder amd collar bone (ACC). At the ER visit the doc there told me to follow up with my regular physician and that i would need further treatment for my significant injury. The pain in my shoulder was so bad that it nearly made me sick to my stomach, I made an appointment and had to see Quinn again. I asked her for her help because my pain was passed a 10 on the pain scale, she again talked to me about supplements, nutrition and told me that she would not give me a shot to relieve the pain or any type of medication other than the supplements and that I should take double the doses of the prednisone pack that were given to me in the hospital. I told her how significant my pain was, I was literally in tears and she refused to help me in any way when I expressed my frustrations with her lack of care and treatment and requested that one if the actual doctors come check my shoulder, which was in a sling, she told me I was no longer allowed to be a patient there and she would be advising the other physicians of MY actions and disrespect. It was a joke, so now I have had a second trip to the ER and an Ortho doc who said the separation was quite large, I am still in a sling, out of work, in pain but seeing a qualified doctor. To add insult to injury, I received a letter from PA Achard restating I could not be a patient there and while she understood I was in pain, had taken prescribed medication and needed her assistance, I would not receive it there, at that office again due to my "disrespectful tone." I do not believe that she needs to be allowed to treat anyone without an actual Medical Doctor supervising each and every patient's visit and her evaluation of their medical issues. I did not intend to write anything about this until I realized how many other people have written complaints similar or worse on this forum and I felt a need to write about my extremely negative experience with her. I don't believe that mistreating patients, leaving patients in pain or insulting them by acting as though their pain is not real and making them seek treatment in ER's for an already diagnosed and documented injury is part of the oath those in the medical field take.

I was treated by Mountain Medical Arts (Malinda “Quinn” Achard) last year for migraines and anxiety. I have Celiac Disease, an auto-immune condition, and informed them of this at the time of admittance. Quinn ran lots of tests on me, and prescribed numerous supplements for me, and appeared very knowledgeable about those tests. HOWEVER, one of the supplements she gave me (to treat what she believed was "borderline hypothyroidism") was iodine. After taking it, I immediately felt very sick... enough to suspect that I might be having a heart attack or need emergency care: sweating, shaking, heart racing and panic. I called the office and was told by office staff that "we never heard of anyone having a reaction to iodine. It's a benign substance." She checked with Quinn who instructed her to tell me (didn't even get on the phone with me) to "back off" the iodine for a few days and then try again. I didn't. And thank god, because what I discovered after leaving her practice is that I have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis (a very common companion to Celiac Disease) and that iodine is known to throw patients with autoimmune thyroid issues into a life-threatening hyperthyroid state (a thyroid storm). People with Hashimoto's have died after taking iodine, and I think I was very close to it the day I called Quinn's office seeking help. I'm glad I followed my instincts and didn't take any more, but am warning new patients that are considering care with MMA of what I believe is at least one staff member there that knows just enough about functional medicine to be dangerous but not enough to treat patients thoroughly or properly. As it turns out, both the migraines and anxiety were related to my Hashimoto's and I'm getting proper care now by an MD who tested me for the TPO antibodies that Quinn failed to test. I hate to think of all the money and time I wasted taking unnecessary tests, and buying supplements from their office for a year. I know it is hard to get properly diagnosed for auto-immune conditions, and that many doctors miss the TPO antibody test, but this was why I spent extra money purchasing their "membership", going off insurance to pay out of pocket for the functional medicine services in the first place. I could understand missing the diagnosis, but am alarmed that they missed the iodine reaction that was so dangerous. They should at least have checked after my call... a simple Google search would have turned it up.
