The trail is not for the amateur hiker it is a real wilderness area. If you can't navigate a forest don't attempt it without an experienced guide it is dangerous there's nothing safe about it. Even on horse back it could be seriously dangerous lots of big wash outs the farther you go in. We've actually walked all the way up the hill before but it's not easy and can be dangerous especially for the inexperienced. All that being said it's absolutely gorgeous lots of hibiscus in bloom and old growth hardwood forest. There are lots of predators bobcats, coyotes and we've seen bear tracks but not the bear. Deer are extremely plentiful as well jump deer every hike.

Due to recent heavy rains and flooding, most of this trail is impassable. Now if you have a horse, then this is trail for you right now.

I never mind a little dirt or mud but this trail was definitely full of muddy, smelly puddles along the path. Nothing wrong with the trail but if you go be prepared to get very dirty. I imagine it’s not near as muddy when conditions are right.

Looks good but disappointing that it's closed for hunting!? So many places to hunt why allow hunting near trails

Definitely not a walking trail. Trail was extremely muddy and torn up by horse hooves. Trail is not well marked. Tried at 2 trail heads second trail head I wondered around for 30 mins and could not find a defined trail. Area would be really nice trail just needs some work.

Not a walking trail. Lots of interesting views, but this is one of the less quality trails I've hiked around here. Skull Hollow just up the road is 5$ for entry, but it's much better suited for walking, without all the mud and manure and bumps. For the few people who ride horses, this might be suitable, but I'm sure it'll be a bumpy ride. There's also a lot of side paths and nothing is well marked, so if you choose to hike here, make sure you know how to get back easily.

Very beautiful however hard hike due to the horses leaving tracks. Very over grow in areas. We came home covered in ticks. Been 3 days and still finding tick bites and ticks on us and our dog and in the bed. We now have to treat the whole house. First night we pulled off over 100 ticks between us all and are still finding them. Not well marked trails either.

The horses ruined this trail. Don’t even try to hike this on foot. Eff those horses.
