Incredible dinner last night!

We were seated quickly, the servers and staff were on point and there before we were even aware we needed anything.

Stephanie, the owner stopped by to check on my wife and I and to share some of the history of the building.

I had the 24oz bone in ribeye done to medium+ and the chef nailed it. We finished the night with an old fashioned for me and a speakeasy espresso martini for my wife. Both drinks were outstanding!

Well worth the money!

The service is impeccable! The food is outstanding! The atmosphere is great! We had the ribeye steak—it was the best! It was perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked. The tempura asparagus appetizer was great! Also perfectly cooked! The sides were also excellent—tonight we had baked potato and Brussels sprouts. We are traveling through here and when planning our route, decided to take a small detour and try this place out. So glad we did!!! Awesome find!!!

Had a dinner reservation, and we were greeted warmly by the hostess, and seated immediately. Our server and the staff were attentive and helpful. The owner stopped by to check on us, and offer up some of the history of the building.

We started with tempura asparagus, and unsweet ice tea. Both were excellent. Dinner was a pair of ribeye steaks cooked to our personal perfection. I had garlic mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus for my sides, and Dave had baked potato and grilled asparagus. Yes, we both love asparagus!

Their liquor selection is quite good, and their cocktails offer good variety. Dave had an Old Fashioned, and I chose the Espresso Martini with a shot of cream, on the side. Both were excellent quality and not watered down at all.

All in all, it was a wonderful birthday dinner. Kudos to the staff at The Chophouse in Mt Vernon Texas!

Stopped in tonight. The food is excellent as well as the staff and the service. The steak was phenomenal, best I’ve in my travels over the last year. Definitely will be back in the future!!!!

By far this restaurant meets all our elite standards. Stephanie and her staff are always ready to accommodate when our customers join in for dinner. The premises are clean, the atmosphere is wonderful, and the food is both delicious and beautifully presented. They really go above and beyond to make each visit memorable. Definitely a must for any visitors or hometown folks that want to experience high quality dining!

What an outstanding meal, service, and ambiance. Impressive classiness for a small town but not pretentious. You can feel the heart and authenticity of the owners in the made from scratch menu - with not too much on it and not too little - and the warm and real friendliness of the staff. Clearly focused on quality and experience first way ahead of making a buck - so obviously different than even the nicest chain restaurants. The chicken fried chicken was outstanding and the creamed gravy was as smooth and good as some of the nicest restaurants I have enjoyed in Europe. Immaculately clean. Death by chocolate cake was excellent. Green beans too - perfect- not over or under cooked - and seasoned - again, just right. Mashed potatoes too - on point. Congrats to the owners, staff, and chef. Thanks for the great experience- and affordable too.

This steakhouse was great AND in such a small town with lots of history! We enjoyed, the staff, the atmosphere, the cocktails and the food! The smoked old fashioned was awesome! The filet and pork chop were great as well as the fried asparagus and truffle fries. The owner and GM were super nice along with their staff. Very attentive! We will be back soon!

This is a very good place. I see where some say it is expensive. I thought it was right inline with other fine establishments I have eaten at. It is very good food. Good service. Good place.

Ribeye and Flatiorn Steaks were awesome.

We decided to go to The Chophouse for our 20th anniversary. We loved the great music that was playing and the place just has a cool atmosphere. The food was amazing and the service was excellent. I had the flatiron steak and my wife had the blackened salmon. They were both delicious. I’m looking forward to my next visit.

Our second visit. The perfect anniversary destination for a fantastic dining experience in this quite country venue. A must visit for fine dining and great cocktails.

I was here for my birthday and it was very special sharing with my husband and friends.If you are looking for a 5 star restaurant- this is it. And the cocktails are made to order and the best in the Our meal was excellent as was the service. Please make it a point to have your celebration here. Our meal was excellent and service was awesome. Thank you for my birthday dessert.

Five star experience every time! The Chophouse team consistently delivers the best food, service, drinks, and atmosphere. This is our favorite restaurant by far!

Fantastic food!! And wonderful energy. Each member of staff all the way up to the GM and owners were attentive. Would go out of my way to return.

Hands down the best filet mignon I've ever had. The waitress was great, and the owner even stopped everyone's tables to introduce herself and make sure everyone was enjoying their meals. We will definitely be back.

A great place and really enjoyed the history. The food was phenomenal. My wife and I were out cruising around and found this place. I’d be willing to drive from Rockwall to dine here again.

Great atmosphere, shrimp cocktail & chips were a tasty start. Hubby enjoyed the bone in pork chop especially when it had mustard sauce. The glazed Chilean sea bass was absolutely exquisite. The should bottle that glaze!! Great service. Owner in the restaurant always makes it better. We will make this a regular stop when traveling south into Texas.
