The food is amazing, fresh, delicious home style fare. Potato Chip Chicken, Smothered Chopped Beef Steak, Grilled or Fried Pork Chops, etc. Scrumptious sides and salads. Delectable desserts. The compliments and praise go on and on. Another Mexia restaurant jewel!! Please treat yourself to the homemade goodness of this establishment. The hours are limited though. 7am-3pm Monday-Thursday. And Friday 7am to 7pm. Call for weekend hours as I was there before the New Year’s holidays

Great chicken fried steak! I had mashed potatoes and fried okra. My husband ordered chicken fried steak with French fries and fired okra. The food was delicious. We will definitely go back.

Met a dear friend here for breakfast and it was everything he said it would be, delicious, friendly and amazing customer service. We enjoyed our meal and fellowship with everyone. The waitress was awesome. Love this place. You must visit.

Don't judge a book by its cover! This place is SO YUMMY! The people working there are so nice and the food is delicious. They've been winning best breakfast food for the past 4 years and there's a reason for it. I definitely recommend this restaurant. My husband and I ate there for the first time today and I am so glad we picked this place.

Amazing breakfast, lunch and pies! Their food is so good and all home made by the amazing cooks. To top it off the staff is so friendly, welcoming and the owners come around to check that everyone is satisfied with their orders. Clean restaurant, friendly staff, and delicious food, 100% recommend Countryside Cafe and will be coming back to try more plates!

( and I know that kind of work, because I grew up in the restaurant industry, front the back of the house to the front and everything else in between ) -
the atmosphere could use a little bit of tweaking.

Breakfast, notice locals keep this place busy. Service was friendly and breakfast for both my wife and I was great and took enough left over that we enjoyed breakfast at our location the following morning. Decently good choice passing thru Mexia.

It's country and good eatin'. Good size plates too. Went on mother's day and got a chocolate covered strawberry when I paid the tab. Thank you! My mother and I enjoyed it very much.

Ordered chicken fried steak and chicken. It was the best we have had in ages. Great food and service will be here again.

I stopped by this local cafe for breakfast and tried the chorizo breakfast burritos with the red salsa. It was all delicious! Definitely coming back to try their lunch menu! Highly recommend!

Service is a little slow on this day, but they were busy. We had one vegetarian with us and the choices were limited for them. I thought they had a steamed vegetarian plate but didn't this day.

I enjoyed stopping by this restaurant. The breakfast was really good and I'm looking forward to trying their dinner the next time I visit.

Great place to eat for breakfast or lunch. Food is good staff and service is some of the best home cooking around. Must try the Potato chips chicken, it's great.
