What a charming place to stay. We had a wonderful stay from the check-in to the check-out. The cottage was exceptional. The grounds look nice.
The irises greet you as you drive in. Thought there is no breakfast, you can pick up a muffin and coffee as you leave. The staff is helpful with any recommendations for eating or history on the courts. Starting prices for accomodations are reasonable. Don't miss this jewel.

Love the historic Rainbow Courts. Every room is so unique. And the owners make it feel like you’re staying with friends. Also love the cats that lounge around. Sitting in Airondeck chairs under the oak trees and string lights is a great place to relax and visit.

Rainbow Courts is a 106-year-old “motel” that has been extraordinarily well taken care of, and kept up-to-date while preserving its history. I put “motel” in quotes because it's a thousand times nicer than any other motel I've ever stayed at. It gives upscale airbnbs a run for their money. The place is classy, historic, and clean. I'd find it worthwhile to travel to Rockdale just for the sole purpose of staying here. It's really, seriously nice, and I wish I'd booked more than a single night.

I booked 16+ musicians at Rainbow Courts over the course of a week. Not only were they incredibly hospitable, but they were genuinely interested and passionate in accommodating their talented guests. They helped organize logistics to make things easy and were extremely quick to communicate. Plus, every room was just astounding!! Many of these artists have never been to the USA, and Rainbow Courts helped make their trip memorable and wonderful. I can't thank Rainbow Courts and its staff enough!!

Rainbow Courts provided an exceptional lodging experience. The room was very clean and comfortable, the kind of place where you can feel at home while on the road. Would highly recommend Rainbow Courts to anyone traveling through that beautiful part of TX!

Wonderful place to spend celebrating family milestones. We were treated as special friends. The room was very nice and had everything we needed there were good eating places close by. We'll be back.

I've stayed in numerous motels over the years.
Something about this place, it gives off the comfort of home.
Like staying the night in your grandmother's home, with all the comforts.
Owners are extremely friendly, rooms are just a taste of home.
Best place I have ever stayed in. 5 stars, I'd give more if I could.

Booked the Executive suite for two nights with a friend. I live in Monterey, CA which is a big tourist destination with a lot of fine hotels and this place would stack up against any of them. The owners have really made something special here. The rooms were charming and comfortable. The amenities above and beyond.

Only negative is out of the control of the hotel. That's the train. If you're a light sleeper it's going to wake you up. Otherwise this place is top notch.

I've never in my life been to such an amazing place just for a night stay. The owners are fabulous the comfort an the beauty overwhelmed me the warm apple cider was home made an the taste was spectacular as well the muffins the intire day an night were totally one of most outstanding times of my life in order for u to understand u would truly have to visit once it was just a place in Rockdale but after I experienced it I will enjoy that wonderious place over an over in my life the prices were no really to high they were ment for the stay I received it really ment the world to me an yes I will return

Let me just say, my husband and I come to Rockdale often for his business and we always stay at the Days Inn and it’s ok. But this place is so cozy and homey! It’s just the fact that we are in an actual functioning piece of Texas History. I didn’t go inside during check in but my husband said the guy was very friendly and that alone was reason enough for him to come back when we come back in town. The room was really nice. My finance and I need a room with a big refrigerator and over for our thanksgiving stay! The room had just what we needed and the price was very reasonable!

I booked this as a pass through place on a trip with my SO. The family who runs it was so kind and provided great customer service. If we ever pass through again, we will definitely be staying here! A wonderful experience, especially considering it’s the oldest running motel in Texas!
The room, while small, was very clean, tidy, and offered most things other hotel/motel rooms do. It was perfect for a one night stay like we needed! It is easy to get to food places and stores.

Dan and Joan are an amazing couple with the care of this amazing hotel. Their place is so quaint and perfect for a quiet getaway in some beautiful countryside. I absolutely love coming back here with my husband again and again. Very highly recommended and enjoy each time we stay here.

Omg goodness!! Please go and visit this place! Everyone is so helpful and friendly! They make you feel as if you family. Erica was so nice and even hung out with me and was the absolute sweetest! Not to mention the on-site animals! They were the best behaved! The hospitality was beyond exceptional! And the lady at the front desk was amazing! She was so friendly and made me feel welcomed as soon as I stepped into the lobby. The room we staying was so clean and the bed was so comfortable! I felt as if I was at home! Thanks guys so much! We will definitely be back!

We’re back after a long stretch. Finally getting to enjoy the posh rooms in this historic motel. I love just chilling in the Adirondack chairs out in the gardens. Tomorrow I’ll enjoy the garden even more with my hot cup of Green Mountain coffee in hand.
If you haven’t experienced this, you simply must. It’s a very tastefully appointed hotel. Our daughter in law once commented after she spent a night here, that after staying in a place like this, it’s hard to accept a regular ol hotel. I agree.
I’m very sad to see the for sale sign up front. Distraught actually. I hate change. Which is why I love this piece of history. I hope some one comes in and preserves it. Maybe turn it to a destination wedding event all inclusive set up. The gardens are divine. The garden room would be a most excellent bridal suite. Cater the event meals.
This town is a mess. It doesn’t do this wonderful hotel any favors. But I could see a self contained wedding venue doing well.

We were in town for my daughter’s softball tournament and needed a place to stay the night. All the chain hotels in the area had horrible reviews and I stumbled upon Rainbow Courts by accident while looking over google maps. It had great reviews so I booked it. It was a really nice place, super clean rooms and a very nice courtyard area. It’s also a historical spot, I believe it’s the oldest motel still operating in Texas, or something like that. The fresh muffins for breakfast were good too. I’d highly recommend and would stay here again if in the area.

Just amazing! The entire property is rich with history. The room we stayed was phenomenal, just perfect! The staff was very friendly and willing to tell the history of the Motel. I will defiantly stay again and have recommended to friends already to put on there travel [plans while in the area.

Enjoyed our stay at rainbow courts. Dan is very accommodating and the rooms were clean and well maintained. Beds were comfortable and the grounds were well serviced. Will make a return visit when in the area.
