Basil

Just went to Basil this evening on the recommendation of a trusted acquaintance. The service was excellent. All of the food was spectacular. Perfectly prepared salmon with curry noodles. Also, the Fusion Grilled Chicken was awesome. I'd highly recommend either dish. So glad I was turned onto this place. I'll definitely return on a future visit to the Wausau area.

Gem!!!! Cozy/classy/funky atmosphere. Clean. Good waitstaff. Varied fusion menu but not too out there if you follow. Solid sandwiches and wraps for lunch. Sophisticated dinner menu with a nice appetizer selection. BIG bar selection.
Loved our stir fry. Booths are not comfortable, they kind of force too much forward posture. Makes you want to leave too soon. This is a planned design in low-end fast food restaurants to keep customers moving. I do not believe this was a planned thing here. Just unfortunate booth choice.
Good place to bring mixed company, they have something for everyone from extreme adventitious to fairly bland WASP fare.
I look forward to our next visit.

Exceptional service and food. Everything was perfect...truly fresh and delicious meal. Our food plate presentations were beautiful. I enjoyed the quaint atmosphere.

What an awesome restaurant! The crispy duck was truly an experience worth writing about and we will be coming back whenever we are in Wisconsin. Red curry is spicy but not overly hot and it’s served and the perfect consistency. Drunken Noodle simply was awesome. Casual attire is appropriate and make sure to get a reservation since it can get busy.

Holy cow! I’ve eaten pot stickers all over the world. Seriously, these are the best potstickers I have ever eaten. There sauce is to die for and they have a nice texture. I’ll be bringing my wife back for dinner. Utterly amazing

Exceptional experience. Service was friendly and courses were timed well. Food was prepared wonderfully. We ordered Asian nachos, coconut shrimp, fusion grilled chicken, pepper steak, and Lemon Berry Mascarpone Cream Cake. Would get all dishes again. Portions were perfect and we will definitely return.

Went in unaware we needed a reservation, quickly greeted by the hostess, told it would be 1/2 hour but were provided seating at the bar. Rachel was at the bar and quickly made us welcome and comfortable. Drink and an appetizer while we waited for our table, when our table was ready we were so relaxed and comfortable we decided to finish off our dinner at the bar with Rachel. Food was fabulous, and the margarita fantastic. Strongly recommend.

Absolutely delicious food, I had the salmon and it was the best I ever had. Morgan was our waitress and she was sweet and efficient! Definitely will return, reservations recommended as they were having to turn people away if they did not have one..

I had a date night with the wife. We both had the chefs special menu, the salmon and rib eye. It was tremendous along with the lava cake for dessert. We have never had a bad meal and the service is great. Thank you Basil for another special evening.

Had a great date night at Basil, and the delicious food and wonderful service were the metaphorical icing on the cake! The basil salmon was cooked perfectly and my partner's curry fried rice was exquisite. The portions were more than I had expected (especially with the desserts!) yet still at a reasonable price. We had an amazing time at your establishment and will certainly be coming back again. Thank you!

Our food was fresh and delicious. The seating area is small, but the restaurant has a very cool atmosphere. The menu is unique with a variety of cuisines.

I had the Basils Special and the flavor combination was amazing. I would recommend Basil to anyone looking for a unique spot.

The food is great and so is the staff. All of my experiences have been outstanding. They are great at explaining the food options and always have great recommendations. If you have special dietary needs they will have excellent options including the drinks. The owners and staff make you feel like a part of the family. Keep up the great work.

Great little restaurant with lots of choices, Thai, Korean and even an Irish Shepard's Pie. My friend and I split a Shepherd's pie and each of us had a side salad. Both were delicious. The prices were reasonable and the service was excellent. I can't wait to go back and to try some of the other offerings on the menu.

My husband and I visit this location frequently! We LOVE the Asian Nachos (slight spiciness but not too bad!) We also think the Pad Thai and fried rice are delicious! We found out not too long ago that they have a lunch menu which was great and inexpensive! Also, fun fact .... They have a drive up window! Call ahead and pick up at their drive up window to the right of their entrance!

In town for work and spotted this gem on the map. Decor is a little busy, but staff very welcoming and friendly, great service! Felt a little limited for low carb options but the Cilantro Lime Chicken Salad made up for it! Very fresh with amazing flavor, highly recommend!
