The Blue Orchid

We stopped here on our first evening in Rangely. Our children love "Chinese", which my husband hates. The Blue Orchid was a refreshing Thai meal, not a buffet, not warmed for hours and covered in a sugar based general sauce. My husband may be a convert, he loved his happy noodles and chicken. I absolutely adored the Tom ka, the flavor was out of this world! The kids devoured their chicken and lemon grass pot stickers. I really want to go back for more Tom ka, and to try the hot pot!

The takeout experience was exceptional, from start to finish! The employee who took my phone order "smiled" as he provided helpful info. The facility was above-and-beyond COVID-19 compliant, including all staff wearing face coverings. The three varieties of dumplings we ordered were delicious, as were the spring rolls, house fried rice, Tom Yum soup, and Pad Thai. The Chili Chili Duck was amazingly lean, meaty, tender, loaded with vegetables and YUMMY! Electron Brown Ale, which tastes just like coffee, and Thai Iced Tea complemented the meal very well, and so did the unique homemade desserts. We have leftovers for another meal!

Today we got take-out from Blue Orchid. The woman behind the counter was so friendly and welcoming! The food was outstanding; so fresh and scrumptious!!! We will definitely be back!!! We ordered the spring rolls which were delicious! The pineapple rice was outstanding! The Pad Thai was out of this world!! The spicy drunken noodles was made to perfection!!! We finished with a slice of strawberry rhubarb pie; delicious!!! What a wonderful find in Rangeley Maine!!!

Small family owned restaurant with amazing Thai food! We typically eat there but takeout is popular as well. I've enjoyed everything I've had but the edamame dumplings and anything duck is my favorite. We have lived outside of 3 major cities and finding our favorite Thai restaurant in Rangeley Maine was a pleasant surprise!

You would not expect to get great Thai food this far from a city but you can at this place. Very friendly owners who were happy to adjust any dish to your liking. I mentioned I love pad see ew and they offered to make it even though it wasn't on the menu and it was delicious!

Family-owned small business. They learned from an acclaimed Thai chef and the food is amazing. Highly recommend the massaman curry or the hot pots are fun, but we’ve never had anything but great food here!

As far as Thai goes the food is amazing, this place and the owner have an amazing history. An added bonus the owner is really knowledgeable on beers and has a really good collection. Can’t go wrong here it’s a must visit.

This is a must stop if near Rangeley. The food was incredible!! A real surprise and nothing like what I expected. So so good. My family and I will definitely be back!

Wow! This is really awesome food. Tom Yum soup really authentic and tasty. I would highly recommend for a good meal. Can’t wait to go back.

Chicken Pad Thai has always been my comfort food! Also, the general Tso is amazing!!

I was expecting run of the mill Chinese food. Instead I was completely surprised. This food is fantastic!! It was the Best food my family and I had for our stay in the Rangeley area.

Good Thai food. Not overly spicy. I liked the Happy Buddha beer.

The massaman curry was out of this world and beer selection is fantastic! Highly recommend.

Sad to say, but this restaurant is closed due to the pandemic. They are currently selling their inventory of non-perishable items.

Was craving something different and the yellow curry was a great pick!

We had a really good meal, healthy and tasty. We'll come back.
